The Antisemitism Awareness Act of 2023 (H.R. 6090)[1] passed the House by a vote of 320-91 on May 1, 2024.[2]

This bill criminalizes reciting or praising parts of the Gospel of John, and other passages in the New Testament.

Senators criticized this bill and it seems unlikely to become law. Apparently the House passed it due to lobbying.

Leading conservatives, such as Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Thomas Massie, and Matt Gaetz, voted against it.
