Thomas Harold Massie is a conservative member of the United States House of Representatives, serving since November 13, 2012, and a prolific inventor who graduated from MIT. Rep. Massie is the only congressman who lives "off-the-grid," while the global warming hucksters hypocritically waste vast amounts of fossil fuel energy by living on the grid and using private jets that are wasteful energy hogs.
Massie was the first congressman to stand up for Covington high school boys after they were unfairly smeared in connection with the 2019 March for Life.[1] "The smartest member of Congress is from Kentucky," Ann Coulter said in praise of him.[2]
Rep. Massie has courageously led on many high-profile issues, as he:
- boycotted December presentation to Congress to perpetuate U.S. funding of the NATO war in Ukraine
- voted against the resolution condemning speech on the internet
- cross-examined John Kerry about the nutty global alarmist claims
- objected to the endless Covid subsidies and forced Congress to return to vote in person on them
- cross-examined Attorney General Garland about his lack of disclosure of undercover agents on J6 (in incitement of the crowd)
Rep. Massie is a leader on restoring patent rights to small inventors.[3] Rep. Massie holds 24 patents himself, from prior to being elected to Congress.[4]
Massie's persistent and outspoken opposition towards foreign aid, along with that of Sen. Rand Paul, represents the continuation of the Old Right tradition of the Republican Party which mostly died out by the 1960s. The ideological forerunner for the politics of Paul and Massie arguably was Kentucky congressman Eugene Siler, a devoutly Christian conservative who carried an isolationist streak in being the only vote in the U.S. House against (by pairing with) the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution during the Vietnam War.
U.S. House of Representatives
Massie has consistently co-sponsored the American Sovereignty Restoration Act,[5][6] and he has promoted withdrawing from the United Nations.[7] He is also a critic of the Federal Reserve.[8] Massie has introduced bills to abolish the United States Department of Education.[9]
In a hearing held by the U.S. House Oversight and Reform Committee, Rep. Massie asked basic questions to an abortionist about her "service provision", where the latter avoided answering directly and instead made irrelevant points.[10] The abortionist's refusal to answer was quickly pointed out by Massie.
Massie was the only congressman to attempt to force a record vote for the biggest debt bill ever, euphemistically called a "stimulus" package, which passed on March 27, 2020, to add $2.2 trillion to the national debt.[11]
In December 2023 Massie told Tucker Carlson:
“ | The so-called Euromaidan protests in Kiev culminated in the February 2014 coup d'etat, which brought radical pro-EU and pro-NATO politicians to power and plunged Ukraine into crisis, leading to the current conflagration...Washington has been sabre-rattling against Russia ever since, drumming up sanctions and restrictions that were obviously going to have consequences, and that is exactly what happened...You know, they’re saying the quiet part out loud that congressmen tend to vote for this stuff because a lot of this federal spending that goes to Ukraine is actually laundered back to the military-industrial complex...And in some ways, not very efficiently, but in some ways, it enriches people in their districts and the stockholders, some of whom are congressmen.[12] | ” |
