The Carolina Panthers are a National Football League (NFL) team based in Charlotte, North Carolina. They are members of the National Football Conference (NFC) South Division.

History and League Success

The Panthers entered the NFL as an expansion team in 1995, one of two that season (the Jacksonville Jaguars being the other) and the first two expansion teams in nearly two decades. They played their first season in Clemson, South Carolina (at the home stadium of Clemson University) before their new facility was ready for their second season.

The Panthers have appeared in the Super Bowl twice (2003 and 2015), losing both times.
