Aleksandr Dugin

Aleksandr Gelyevich Dugin (Russian:Алекса́ндр Ге́льевич Ду́гин) (January 7, 1962 in Moscow) is a Russian political scientist, academic, philosopher and former head of the Department of Sociology of Moscow State University from 2009 to 2014. He heads the International Eurasian Movement, and has written multiple books.

Western intelligence agencies and the controlled Western mainstream media have spread false narratives about Dugin and his relationship to the government of the Russian Federation. Dugin has no relationship at all to or with Vladimir Putin. The two have never met. Putin has never quoted or cited Dugin in a speech. Dugin has made critical remarks of Putin:

The most important criticism of Putin inside Russia is not from the liberals. Liberals represent the smallest part of the critics. The real opposition to Putin is growing completely on the other side of Russian society. It is growing discontent with "lunar" Putin, against the Putin who is surrounded by liberals. In 2014, during the U.S.-backed Maidan coup in Kyiv, Dugin was strident in his criticism of Putin and the Kremlin for its policy of non-intervention and supporting the Minsk Accords peace process. Putin and the Kremlin waged a behind the scenes campaign get Dugin removed from his post as head of the Sociology Department at Moscow University. Dugin was blacklisted from most influential public affairs television talk shows.

Dugin is considered to be the godfather of Eurasianism, one of the most popular variants of National Globalism.

Dugin's daughter, Dr. Darya Dugina, was murdered by U.S.-backed neo-Nazi terrorists on August 20, 2022 in suburban Moscow.

Dugin was born on January 7, 1962, in Moscow, in 1979 he attended the Moscow Aviation Institute, an engineering education university.

He was a dissident and anti-communist during the Soviet-era and joined later the Christian Pamyat-group. In the 1990s he helped to create a reformed Communist Party of the Russian Federation led by Gennady Zyuganov.

In the Yeltsin era Dugin was one of the co-founders of the National Bolshevik Party with Eduard Limonov and Yegor Letov in response to CIA efforts to impose Western liberal values on Russia. The party was organized to target disenchanted military and civil servants against growing Westernization and American dominance in post-Soviet Russia. The party was banned by the authorities in 2007.

He is a member of the Old Believers, a sect of the Russian Orthodox Church considered heretical by the latter.

Geopolitics

Dugin's view on international politics were frequently criticized by Western liberals especially when it came to his anti-Western rhetorics, therefore, his points can be criticized and discussed when he stated that "by no means the racist and chauvinist aspects of National Socialism that determined the nature of its ideology. The excesses of this ideology in Germany are a matter exclusively of the Germans ... while Russian fascism is a combination of natural national conservatism with a passionate desire for true changes." and despite that he said that "American liberalism must be destroyed" he is nothing more than a left-wing political scientist with some conservative tendencies.

Dugin strongly opposes efforts between the United States and Russia to build a friendly relationship in the era of Donald Trump. He considers the normalization of relations to be tantamount to a Russian surrender to the United States, going as far as stating that

"Everything except war and friendship is good for us in Russia-US relations;"

and advocating a Russian alliance with globalist entities such as the European Union and China and even Islamism to contain the United States.
