On Easter morning, it was a great pleasure to open X (formerly Twitter) to see ecstatic posts from newly baptised Catholics expressing their joy at having been received into the Church at the Easter Vigil. Moving images of Tammy Peterson, wife of the famous and controversial public intellectual Dr. Jordan Peterson, being received at Holy Rosary Church in Toronto, swept across Catholic corners of the internet." The number of baptized Catholics has increased globally, rising from 1.376 billion in 2021 to 1.390 billion in 2022, with a relative increase of 1.0%.The rate of change varied from continent to continent. Africa recorded an increase of 3%, with the number of Catholics rising from 265 to 273 million in the same period." https://www.vaticannews.va/en/vatican-city/news/2024-04/vatican-central-statistical-office-church-pontifical-yearbook.html [[User:NishantXavier|NishantXavier]][[User talk:NishantXavier|For Christ the King]] 13:17, April 4, 2024 (EDT)

:I experienced my first ever Easter Vigil this year and it was fantastic (Easter Vigil is the Saturday night before Easter).

:Due to my positive experience on Holy Saturday (Easter Vigil) at a fairly historic Catholic church built in the 1800s, I plan on attending their upcoming Catholic mass on Saturday. It's a beautiful church in terms of its architecture. They used to have mass every day at this church, but that was discontinued.  I will still attend church on Sunday at another church that isn't a Catholic church, but it still retains much of the Catholic mass and early church practices. Unfortunately, most churches don't have 3 hour masses like the early church did (See: [https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/blogs/justin-taylor/what-was-a-church-service-like-in-the-second-century/ What Was a Church Service Like in the Second Century?]).  So by going to church twice on a weekend, in total length, I am getting about 2/3rds or slightly more of the early church service in terms of the length of service. It's not a perfect solution, but maybe I will go to 3 church services in future weekends.

:My friend suggested that I attend 4 church services during [[Holy Week]] - namely Sunday, Maudy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday. It was a very good experience and I regret not doing this earlier, but at the churches I attended previously, this was never stressed.

:Quality of church services is good, but there is also something to be said for duration of time spent at church during a week. [[User:Conservative|Conservative]] ([[User talk:Conservative|talk]]) 15:25, April 5, 2024 (EDT)
