Statistical methodology
User:Conserative's statistical methodology on narcissism is flawed. It does not tell us what boomers thinking was in their 20s, and apparently is trying to comapare the narcissistic attitudes of young adults in the 20s with older, more mature people in their 60s and 70s without disclosing that information. - There are some people who hate the boomers for narcissism and there are boomers who passionately deny it is a narcisstic generation. I lean towards them being narcissistic for various reasons some of which I cited (But I did not include the national debt buildup with subsquent generations having to pay for it). If the USA boomers are narcissistic, it was probably large due to their generation being so big (marketers catering to them, etc) and the USA being very wealthy post WWII for a time by historical standards (USA in the 1950s and 1960s being wealthy and not having too many economic issue until Jimmy Carter). There are other reasons such as the boomers being less religious than previous generations, but those are top of mind in terms of the causes.
- With that being said, it's super common for the boomers to be referred to as the "me generation" and to be called narcissistic and I put some footnotes. Regardless, I will put a defense of the boomers in a few minutes regarding the charge of them being narcissistic. Just give me a few minutes. If memory serves, I think I can find something in a few minutes. But I kind of did this already via the millennials and narcissism. Conservative (talk) 15:36, February 21, 2024 (EST)
- I found the source I was looking for and included it in the section. Conservative (talk) 15:44, February 21, 2024 (EST)
- That's all well and good. Now address the question on your flawed statistical methodology. RobSZelensky didn't kill himself 16:46, February 21, 2024 (EST)
- I don't want to endless wrangle about the "me generation" issue related to boomers. It is very commonly mentioned in relation to the boomers by historians, sociologists, social commentators, political pundits, etc. It has been mentioned so much that is the first thing that comes to mind concerning boomers when I think of the boomers - besides the moon landing which they also are well-known for.

- You haven't done diddly jack. You've made an apples and oranges argument, comparing 60-year-old mature adults to 20 year old selfish kids. I assure you, the boomers had the same childish narcissistic attitudes when they were in their 20s.
- Is it too much to ask for some clarity? or for you to take a reading comprehension test? RobSZelensky didn't kill himself 17:13, February 21, 2024 (EST)
Pretty soon, I will be doing more international travel and that additionally sparked my interest in cultural things which is one of the reasons I created this personal space at Conservapedia User:Conservative/Culture. That page has a section on the boomers HERE and I have pro-con boomer links to articles on the baby boom generation.
If you want to expand the CP baby boom article or create a "Me generation" article giving the pros-cons of the argument, maybe these pro-con sources relating to boomers will be assistance to you. In addition, Wikipedia has a 5 section article on the "Me generation" issue at: Me Generation - Wikipedia. If you feel passionately about this issue, you can endeavor to create a better article than what Wikipedia has.
You can use these resources to expand the boomer article or to help create a Me generation article. Conservative (talk) 17:29, February 21, 2024 (EST)
- Just fix the statistical flaw by pointing out the boomers surveyed were not in the 20s when they were surveyed. RobSZelensky didn't kill himself 17:40, February 21, 2024 (EST)
- Tell you what, I am open to having a discussion with you. I will send you an email about this matter because at this point, I don't know what you are wanting precisely. And I don't want to spend countless hours on this due to lack of clarity as far as your expectations. With that being said, I think I sufficiently gave the pro-con arguments of the "Me generation" issue in a small section of the article. Conservative (talk) 17:44, February 21, 2024 (EST)
- In the meantime, I did come up with this idea on resolving this matter: longitudinal study baby boomers narcissism. Conservative (talk) 17:51, February 21, 2024 (EST)
