Talk:DOGE

There is no DOGE. It is not an executive department created by Congress.

Ramaswamy has already bolted the arrangement as No.2 flunky to run for gov of OH.

DOGE is simply an Office within the Executive Offices of the White House, leading to a duplication of effort with OMB. RobSThe Truth. Just Putin It Out There 10:26, January 20, 2025 (EST)

Update: BREAKING: Vivek Ramaswamy out at DOGE.

Again, RobSmith, in his narcissistic rage, one step ahead of the news cycle. RobSThe Truth. Just Putin It Out There 11:54, January 20, 2025 (EST)

DOGE is, and never has been much more than, sloganeering or a psyop. RobSThe Truth. Just Putin It Out There 12:26, January 20, 2025 (EST)

Cutting $2 trillion from the $7 trillion federal budget is akin to the "Shock Therapy" the Russian Federation experienced in the 1990s, not so bad as with shortened life expectancies but no walk in the park, either. People have gotten used to their "freebies", like Obamacare, and will react negatively if they feel threatened. RobSThe Truth. Just Putin It Out There 19:08, January 20, 2025 (EST)

Oh, so now the government has to pay legal bills for its duplication of efforts.

"DOGE wasn’t created by Congress, and its legal powers remain unclear. The lawsuit argues that DOGE qualifies as a “federal advisory committee” and must follow the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA). This includes public meetings, balanced representation, and filing a congressional charter."

A 6th grade student of civics could have told you this was going to happen. RobSThe Truth. Just Putin It Out There 07:06, January 22, 2025 (EST)

Wouldncha know it?

User:Conservative would cite a bunch of USAID subsidized sources in creation of this article. Someday User:conservative may actually learn what the words "collaboration" and "communication" mean between editors. RobSI don’t really care, Margaret 12:52, February 9, 2025 (EST)

"DOGE and antiquated and nonfunctional U.S. government computer systems"

Oh, does this mean we have to spend more money to upgrade?

That section needs more context or it should be removed.

Once again, User:Conservative shilling for Democrats and liberals. RobSZelensky Must Go! 15:47, March 7, 2025 (EST)

Musk disagreement with Trump

This disagreement has the potential to get out of hand if not handled properly.

is fairly simple to understand. The $190 billion (of the $2 Trillion targeted) is just a band-aid to help Bessent make interest payments for a few months. Yes, there are some permanent underlying reforms, but still not anywhere near what's needed. The Big Beautiful Bill maintains most of those abusive spending habits. Why? As a foreign born, Musk doesn't understand US politics. Radical reform can't be implemented before the 2026 midterms. It'll cut middle class welfare and provoke a backlash among voters. Spending reform has to be implemented incrementally.

Musk's disagreement is really with Congress, who wouldn't vote for such radical reforms and budget cuts before the midterms anyway. Trump understands the realities. Musk's dreams are what I'd call "pie in the sky conservativism" being that he's a foreigner and hasn't really experienced up close the American political system and its traditions. Kudlow: He doesn't understand the process.

Big Beautiful Bill

which we obviously don't have (hmm, I wonder why? Wassamatta? Can't find enuf MSM USAID subsidized sources to create a Big Beautiful Bill article?) What is the Big Beautiful Bill?

Ordinarily, to pass a budget bill for the next fiscal year requires a series of votes in both House & Senate on spending, taxes, the debt limit and countless amendments which creates delays, compromises etc. Trump suggested to Speaker Johnson to just combine it all into one bill and one vote. The one vote leaves much Democrat corrupt spending embalmed into the blueprint without debate & delays so that Trump can move unto other priorities and projects. Essentially, it kicks much conservative budget reform down the road past the midterms. The priority is winning the Midterms (which incumbent presidents historically lose) and not immediate budget reform.

The Big Beautiful Bill is/was essentially an FDR-LBJ-esque bill to ram through a rubber stamp Congress early in the president's term to buy time for later.

The Trump-Musk feud appears for now to have blown over. It's the trolls now who want to keep it alive. RobSZelensky Must Go! 01:38, June 8, 2025 (EDT)

"Hopefully, Elon Musk and his DOGE boys have learned a lesson the hard way. To wit, their earnest, dogged, sweeping and compelling demonstration early in 2025 that hundreds of billions can be cut from the Federal budget has already been sh*t-canned.
Almost in its entirety. And by the usual suspects—-the GOP appropriators on Capitol Hill—who are the biggest fake fiscal conservatives to ever come down the pike."
