We need to decide how many items can be on this list at one time. I think five or six would be best. ~ SharonS 11:20, 5 March 2007 (EST)

I vote 5 --TimSvendsen 11:43, 5 March 2007 (EST)

5 sounds good. --<<-David R->> 11:59, 5 March 2007 (EST)

OK I'll keep it to five items from now on. ~ SharonS 14:56, 5 March 2007 (EST)

Benjamin Franklin?!

<sarcasm> So today, April 17th, Benjamin Franklin was not a deist? How is this related to a particular day in history?</sarcasm> Should this really be there? --trekie9001 15:59, 17 April 2007 (EDT)

Carter's Politically Motivated wha?

Isn't that what presidents are supposed to do? OR, am I to understand that the conservative position would be to negotiate with terrorists? Flippin 16:45, 24 April 2007 (EDT)

I don't know much about the subject. I have to admit I'm a bit lost as here as to that statement as well. I tend to think that it was a noble attempt. We learned in my college history class that Reagan supposedly conspired to keep them locked up until he took office, but that seems a bit conspiratorial for me. DanH 16:50, 24 April 2007 (EDT)

Presidents are supposed to do what? Be politically motivated? Rescue hostages? Presidents should rescue hostages for the sake of the hostages or the sake of justice or something like that, not for political motives (e.g. to make the president look good). (I'm neither agreeing nor disagreeing with the main page comment, just responding to Flippin's comments.) Philip J. Rayment 20:44, 24 April 2007 (EDT)

May 18 should have a link to Plessy v. Ferguson. --Scott 03:19, 19 May 2007 (EDT)
