You may join this category if you like! --User:Joaquín Martínez, talk 16:36, 9 November 2007 (EST)

Ha ha! I'll hold off for now. I'm only here for a little bit, but I appreciate the invitation. Mexican study-abroaders, perhaps :-) ?-MexMax 16:44, 9 November 2007 (EST)
MexMax, I'm interested in picking you for our team, but I'm concerned that you say you're "only here for a little bit." Our opponents are very good, and will be tough to beat. Can you commit to 50 points a day during the 7-day contest? Hope so!--Aschlafly 12:18, 10 November 2007 (EST)
Andy, what an honor, I'd love to, and I'm sure I can do at least 50 a day! When I say, "here for a little bit," I mean my actual physical abode. I'll be moving around a lot lately, but with internet access unimpeded. I'm sure with strategic coaching, too, I could get way above 50...-MexMax 12:36, 10 November 2007 (EST)
  • That Schlafly should just pick like I am trying to do, instead of setting up evaluations! I detect psychological tactics at work.....;-) --şyŝoρ-₮K/Ṣρёаќǃ 12:49, 10 November 2007 (EST)
Hey, I can't fault his good taste in coming to me, though...-MexMax 12:59, 10 November 2007 (EST)

While his methods were crude, he had somewhat of a point. In general (there are always exceptions) do not revert talk page edits unless they are swearing or (in the case of Child Abuse) not in the correct page. For the more borderline posts I find it's better to let a sysop decide; that way nobobdy can get mad at you for undo reasons, like this recent editor. HelpJazz 12:01, 11 November 2007 (EST)

Good point, and thank you for trying to teach me more about wiki-decorum here. You're right, I'll leave such future decisions to the sysops. I was just alarmed by this post, since the "FBI" thing is usually only mentioned by trolls or vandals.-MexMax 12:16, 11 November 2007 (EST)
Yes, I think you did good in this case (especially since he later vandalized your talk page). I was just letting you know for the future. Keep up the good work! HelpJazz 13:16, 11 November 2007 (EST)

Thanks for your deletion suggestions. Done as requested!--Aschlafly 15:18, 11 November 2007 (EST)

Glad to help, friend!-MexMax 12:39, 12 November 2007 (EST)

A belated thank you Andy!-MexMax 20:13, 12 November 2007 (EST)

Awesome work, MexMax!--Aschlafly 20:39, 14 November 2007 (EST)

MexMax, how many points, (if any) are earned for uploading images or putting images on a page? Thanks! Luke 21:12, 14 November 2007 (EST)

I must congratulate you. You are consistently putting in good edits and articles for your team and Conservapedia. Keep up the good work! ;-) Learn together 21:41, 14 November 2007 (EST)

Thanks for the compliments, all! Unfortunately now I have to buckle down and do a bit of work. And Luke, I'm not sure... I'm not a picture-uploader yet, but I looked at the rules and it looks like it's a "quality edit," so four points?-MexMax 22:07, 14 November 2007 (EST)

Thanks for the welcome, brother! JesusWasRightWing 19:48, 15 November 2007 (EST)

I'm back!

And no longer in Mexico. Please, all, forgive my extended hiatus and that I had to back out of the team contest. Unfortunately, some things do come first. But all is well. What did I miss around here?-MexMax 11:19, 2 December 2007 (EST)

No changes here at all. Welcome back! Karajou 11:22, 2 December 2007 (EST)

Thanks! Happy Christmas season, too; I hope to jump back into the swing of things around here, but it may take a while...-MexMax 11:29, 2 December 2007 (EST)

Welcome back. Hopefully you can continue to make some of the same strong edits that you made during the team contest. Learn together 11:58, 3 December 2007 (EST)

Thanks LearnTogether! I'm on business trips a lot lately (grrr) but I'll try to.-MexMax 20:37, 4 December 2007 (EST)

Back again

Just can't seem to get rid of you, can we? ;-) Anway, you're off to a good start. See what I did after your cleaned up my latest edits. --Ed Poor Talk 23:28, 4 January 2008 (EST)

I will! Thanks for the welcome. I'd rather not stay away, it's just that the real world is quite a challenge sometimes!-MexMax 23:31, 4 January 2008 (EST)

Welcome back! We all missed you!!!--Aschlafly 23:31, 4 January 2008 (EST)

Thanks very much! Glad to be back! I just created a ton of red links for myself, but zapping them is part of the fun... so I'll probably be around for a while ~ MexMax 23:33, 4 January 2008 (EST)

Biblical knowledge throwdown

OK - I accept thy challenge.

Contests seem to be in vogue here, so we'll each do an article on a Biblical topic, then get one of the scholars (I have a grudging respect for the education of some of the people here) to judge them. Then we shall see! :) --JOwen 20:02, 6 January 2008 (EST)

Oh I'm excited. How would this work? Keep in mind pride goeth before the etc. etc.-MexMax 11:37, 7 January 2008 (EST)

And where, fine sir, may the "rules" be found?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Humbleservant (talk)

They're linked form the box I left on your userpage. Please be sure to sign your messages with ~~~~, as it time/date stamps and adds your name.-MexMax 17:29, 8 January 2008 (EST)

Do you mean the commandments?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Humbleservant (talk)

Yes.-MexMax 17:36, 8 January 2008 (EST)

And in that case, which of them did I break?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Humbleservant (talk)

I just noticed that your user page suggested satire, so I wanted you to be aware of our commandments.-MexMax 17:41, 8 January 2008 (EST)

MexMax, any chance you could join the upcoming Conservapedia:Contest4? It would be great to have you on our team - we'll win this time!--Aschlafly 22:45, 11 January 2008 (EST)

You made my day, MexMax, by joining the contest! I hope I get to pick you for my team.--Aschlafly 13:30, 12 January 2008 (EST)
I'm so glad, and hope I'm ready! Thanks for adding me!-MexMax 23:07, 12 January 2008 (EST)

Hey, so the draft will not actually finish until Sunday, but the contest will still start tonight at 12a.m., so all that means is some of you will be getting points without knowing what team you're on. Remember to keep track of your points well, at a page like User:MexMax/Contest4.--IDuan 21:08, 12 January 2008 (EST)

Luckily I've been picked: I don't have to go to the prom alone :-) -MexMax 23:07, 12 January 2008 (EST)

Awesome start!!!--Aschlafly 00:03, 13 January 2008 (EST)

Thanks very much! I realized at about 11:40 that I should start working on some pages... and save them to use later... mwahaha.-MexMax 00:05, 13 January 2008 (EST)

Don't listen to them, papa! They are pirates! The famous Pirates of Penzance!

Oops, I see that you had planned to do major work on Pirates of Penzance. It's my favorite also. My apologies. I hope my edits are acceptable to you, and I look forward to seeing your edits.

If it's any comfort, I have no plans to do anything with Mikado or Pinafore.

Diogenes 18:34, 13 January 2008 (EST)

Hardly, thanks so much for making the edits! It looks great now! I'm planning to do Ruddigore: that's my main favorite...-MexMax 18:46, 13 January 2008 (EST)

Upload rights

Yours as requested. Godspeed.--Aschlafly 18:59, 13 January 2008 (EST)

Thanks Andy! I promise I'll be responsible (copyright & such). Good times ahead.-MexMax 19:00, 13 January 2008 (EST)

Factual Content

I'd like to make a note that you just reverted something that was actually true. Please explain. -Chilal

Ok then, I'm just going to go ahead and put it back. -Chilal

Nice Catch

Hey - great catch on the Mitt Romney vandal - I usually block the user first (so the user can't vandalize more articles) - so it's obviously great when someone is able to, in the time that I have to spend block them, revert the vandalism. Great job!--IDuan 22:14, 16 January 2008 (EST)

I try, thanks man! Glad to see you're still around :-)-MexMax 22:15, 16 January 2008 (EST)

Contest Start time

Max, the contest started on the 13 of January not the 12. I noticed you counted a lot of edit on the 12 when the contest did not start that date. Perhaps you just typed the wrong date or something? If you could look into that I would be most grateful! Thanks! ~BCSTalk2ME 09:27, 17 January 2008 (EST)

Thanks very much for bringing that to my attention! I think the problems are that (1) I got the dates wrong for the days and (2) I started exactly at midnight when the contest started, as you can see here, so I must have forgotten that it was technically a new day? But if you check, everything I'm claiming credit for was after the midnight start. Thank you again!-MexMax 10:31, 17 January 2008 (EST)

Thanks! Just wanted to clear that up! --~BCSTalk2ME 09:36, 19 January 2008 (EST)

Family Friendly?

Out of curiosity, having male reproductive organs and supporting the UNA are not family-friendly? Barikada 23:45, 17 January 2008 (EST)

I think talking about the male organs is not family friendly. I don't know who the UNA is. But remember, many users of the site are children.-MexMax 23:46, 17 January 2008 (EST)
Ah, right. Family friendly reality. Sorry for troubling you, then. Barikada 23:47, 17 January 2008 (EST)
No, I think we all recognize that reality is often NOT family friendly, and children will at some point be ready to discuss such things, but our site shouldn't force them into it early on. Fair?-MexMax 23:48, 17 January 2008 (EST)
Aye. Barikada 23:54, 17 January 2008 (EST)

Alright mate, until other members of the team get back on it's up to you and me (and Andy) to bridge the gap!--IDuan 16:51, 19 January 2008 (EST)

I can do it! I'm going to an opera soon, but when I get back, there'll be a good deal of gap-closing to do.MexMax 16:57, 19 January 2008 (EST)

Lol, TRAITOR! How dare you go to BrianCo for a block when you know I was on! I'm charging you with mutiny! ;D--IDuan 17:51, 19 January 2008 (EST)

Edit Categories

Hi MexMax,

Try to be careful not to put articles in both a main category and a subcategory, for instance "Ancient World Wonders" and "Wonders of the World". What we try to do in that case is use the subcategory, Ancient World Wonders. (Sometimes if something is very prominent exceptions can be made, but that's the general rule.) I also have a question about one of the entries. Ancient World Wonders usually refers to the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Some entries, such as Colosseum aren't on that list. Now I do know there were some slight variations on different lists in ancient times on what the seven wonders of the ancient world were and I'm not aware of those variations, so if you know the Colosseum was on one of them then that is fine. Thanks Learn together 03:51, 20 January 2008 (EST)

Thanks again LT; I misapplied category etiquette. D'oh. Have you done the legwork, or should I?-MexMax 14:51, 20 January 2008 (EST)

Photography Template

Is it possible to alter your photography template that has been applied to photographers so that it gives the category of photographers instead of photography? Then you'll also find accouple of people under the category photographers who you can allow your template to. Thanks Learn together 04:40, 20 January 2008 (EST)

Ooops, I meant to say thank you and I'll add them :-D-MexMax 14:52, 20 January 2008 (EST)

Thanks for the improved heading on my talk page, MexMax! And congratulations on doing so well for our team in the contest!!!--Aschlafly 14:52, 20 January 2008 (EST)

Thanks Andy! Sigh, I just wish I could've done better to pull off a wiki-victory...-MexMax 14:53, 20 January 2008 (EST)
