Venture capital
Venture capital is investment in a new enterprise where cash is exchanged for control of a company. The rate of return on venture capital is often higher than other investments because it often involves investments that are riskier than the type of business financing associated with getting a bank loan.
Venture capitalists typically demand input in the new companies as well as having control.
