Top Gear is a UK television series. Originally a rather conventional car review show, it was relaunched as a more comedic and over the top show in 2002. Extremely popular in the UK, the appeal of the show tends to rely on the interplay between the three presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May and bizarre stunts and challenges.
The cars featured tend to be powerful sports and performance cars rather than affordable cars bought by ordinary people. They also have shown survivalist Bug-out vehicles used for "bugging out" during disasters and other threats. The show has been criticized for emphasizing power, speed and performance over safety, fuel economy and environmental concerns.
