Alan Keyes (born 1950) is an American conservative activist and pundit, and was a Republican candidate for president in 1988, 1992, and 2004. He has announced that he is also running in 2008 [1]. In 2004 Keyes unsuccessfully ran against Democrat Barack Obama in the Illinois U.S. Senate race despite his assertion that Jesus would not vote for Obama. [1]
During the Reagan administration, Keyes served as an ambassador to the United Nations. This position made him the highest ranking African-African in the Reagan administration.
