Europa is the fourth largest moon of Jupiter. Discovered by Galileo, it has a diameter of 3,318 km (about 2,068 miles, which would make it slightly smaller than the Earth's Moon). It is surrounded by a layer of ice, which makes it part of the search for extraterrestrial life. There are almost no craters on Europa.
