Great work on Jim Cramer!  You seem to really know your stuff and I'm glad to have you on board.  Side note: we ask all editors have their names formatted as first name, last initial, or some variant of that.  You can have your name changed by posting what it should be changed to on User talk:Aschlafly.  JacobB 18:35, 10 October 2009 (EDT)

::Conservapedia rocks! I have been slowly sifting through several articles and making appropriate edits to each of them, and I'll continue to do so for many other articles to come. This site is awesome and I'm definitely glad to help out in any way that I can. As for my name change, I'll be sure and get that done ASAP. I've got a few more minor adjustments to make on the Jim Cramer page, but once I'm done there I'll get to changing my own name. Thanks for the help! Thanks for this and that. And don't worry about vandalism accusations. I myself was thought to be vandal when I first started editing online encyclopedias, back in 2001. It took me a few months to prove myself. --Ed Poor Talk 15:25, 14 December 2009 (EST)

:The vandalism was certainly a mistake, lesson learned. I tried my best to make up for the mistake a few days later; offering more accurate edits by providing additional information on the following czars: Alan Bersin, Ron Bloom, Gil Kerlikowske, Paul Volcker, Carol Browner, Jeffrey Zients, Cameron Davis, Nancy DeParle, John Brennan, Dennis Blair, Kenneth Feinberg, Vivek Kundra, Adolfo Carrion, Jr., Gary Samore. If anything, the notice of vandalism was a good thing because it verified how, despite Conservative values as a model for truth in Conservapedia, there are boundaries that must be upheld to remain encyclopedic. At first I felt like perhaps Obama was right and maybe I am an "extremist," after having been blocked on Conservapedia for being too Conservative. But then I realized it wasn't about that, but more about keeping to the facts and not spreading unverifiable gossip.  Ever since then I've made it a passionate goal to remain as factual and relevant to any topic that I edit.  I appreciate your kind words, too. It's always nice to receive recognition for the good work as well as constructive criticism for the edits that need additional improvements. So thank you! :Thanks! It makes sense. Perhaps another section should be created to provide an overall outcome as a result of Climategate, such as the necessary requirement that "Global warming, to be accepted as a scientific hypothesis, it must include details of how to prove it wrong--'falsifiability.'" I really hope the climate science community has learned from this (unfortunately politics and science are still holding hands, which is another clear need to change), so the article makes a great point. I'll look into this more when I return. Until then - Marry Christmas! DerekE 17:40, 23 December 2009 (EST)

:::::The funny thing is, the section that I assume was being charged as "copied," it is in fact my work, but most or all of which got reverted or deleted in Wikipedia long ago. I had it saved in a text file and simply updated a few items to assure it's quality. In either case, I just made some more changes to the section that I assume was referred to as the copied section. I'm still working on it though, so I'll go back and check wikipedia to make sure it's not the same. On a similar note, I'm assuming quotes and what-not are not considered as "copied" if the relevant citation is given. I don't think Wikipedia owns the quotes from individuals on their site, it's only a reference tool. Tycoon24 19:46, 10 October 2009 (EDT)

:That makes sense, and I promise that I'm here with good inentions. I'm a bit confused and taken back by my account getting blocked though, especially after I tried to explain that the edits are my own work. You even went as far to revert my changes on the Tax Day Tea Party article? Take a look at wikipedia's article on it. Nothing I added is copying Wikipedia. :-( ...that's what sucks the most about my getting blocked. I guess at this point I have to wonder what constitutes "copying?" Innevitably, some information may discuss very similar facts here as they do on wikipedia, especially when using quotes or sources that are the same, but as long as I'm not copy/pasting anything I can't imagine how my edits are considered to be copying Wikipedia. Besides, wikipedia is bias! I'm being very careful about my edits and have put a lot of time into them. So this is a bit frustrating, to say the least. Sigh. :-(  Tycoon24 21:44, 10 October 2009 (EDT)

::Tycoon24, six months ago I would have said "fine", please proceed as you say.  But the reality is that we don't want to be like Wikipedia, and now we're way past the point you describe.  We use real first or last names here for first-time editors and we don't want material from Wikipedia at this stage, even if you wrote most of it, because if Wikipedia has allowed it to be posted then it probably has a liberal bias to it.

−
:::All of your concerns make complete sense, I totally understand the need to keep as much Wikipedia out of this site as possible, especially since most of everything on Wikipedia is bias. I will note, with respect to my edits on this site thus far, the citations and/or information used was for the most part all my work; however, awhile ago when I added it to wikipedia it would always get deleted or reverted for what I assume was due to it's use of factual, unbias tone as well conservative leaning sources. So I saved my work in txt files and ultimately stopped using wikipedia for the previously mentioned reasons. But as an avid tcotreport.com reader and conservative, after I noticed the addition of conservapedia.com I got all excited about the prospect of being able to edit the site using the sources and previous work that I spent so much time researching in the past. So there's a chance I got a bit carried away here, for that I apologize. I understand this is not my personal website and must obey by it's rules.

:::As for using previous wikipedia work for future edits here, I'll refrain from that as much as possible from now on. To be honest, since it's been awhile since using the wiki-style platform, it did help a little for me to get back into the groove for how this works by going over what I did when editing wikipedia awhile ago. All I can ask for is a little patience until I get a better feel for how the tone, content, and audience read/write in conservapedia. DerekE suddenly made a massive sabotage of a major article Obama Administration, for which he was blocked immediately. This is far more than vandalism--it took a lot of work, and throws into disgrace all his previous work here. RJJensen 20:50, 3 November 2009 (EST)

:Most of the time when I'm discussing our American government with someone, I always find myself having to correct them when they refer to the U.S. as a "democracy." I cannot stand it, either. It is certainly one of the most prevalent falsities repeated about our government, and it disgusts me. The sad part is, even intelligent people will mistakenly refer to America as a democracy. It goes to show the great lengths progressives have gone to infiltrate our education system and, quite literally, fundamentally transform the definition of our government system. It's sad, really... DerekE 17:17, 5 August 2010 (EDT)

::I think we can keep the sabotage comment, which is true. And I thank TK for deleting DerekE's  personal attack on me on his home page. DerekE remains on probation with warnings from at least three different administrators in recent days. RJJensen 01:35, 8 November 2009 (EST)

−
:::RJJensen, if you take a look at Professor style, I argue that that your judgment could be affected by it. Based strictly on your astoundingly bitter dispute with me and your erratic behavior, described as, "[A] tactic that might have been appropriate for the great Soviet Encyclopedia ... [not] suitable for an America conservative project," evidence of your actions suggest to me that you were acting in accordance with the Mental Ossification Curve. Both Professor style and the Mental Ossification Curve are at issue here. Based on these assertions, which are in no way a personal attack against you but merely my argument, you acted in line with that of individual under the influence of Conservaphobia. Contrary to Conservapedia's Law, you not only discouraged an open-minded search for the truth, but rejected what I offered in my edit as simply "nasty vandalism." And then you took it to the extreme, rather than simply delete my entry, you banned me indefinitely and then proceeded to erase my existence from Conservapedia.

−
:::I'm not rejecting your credibility on the site, nor am I personally insulting you with my argument; however, because I'm still unsure of the specifics in my edit that were, as you claim to be, "the nastiest of vandalism" that you've ever seen, I have no reason to believe my arguments are not justified. Maybe you can be more specific about what I added in my edit that is, in your mind, purely "imagination?"

−
:::In the meantime, and forever (until moved to archives), I will leave this section here. I believe in the freedom of speech and in ones personal right to defend themselves against slander - which you appear to be doing by attempting to injure my reputation in this community. DerekE 00:42, 9 November 2009 (EST)

−
::::Freedom of speech does not equal sabotage, especially on this encyclopedia. You invented and inserted a whole string of falsehoods that if any CP reader saw them and trusted them would make our reader looks like a total idiot. The question remains: how much other sabotage have you inserted that we have not noticed? The notion that deliberate deception of our readers is "an open-minded search for the truth" is a disruptive attack on the concept of a trustworthy encyclopeda. One more outburst and you get permanently banned as disruptive. RJJensen 01:06, 9 November 2009 (EST)

−
:::::I understand your logic for deleting my entries based on the notion that, if I had vandalized, than I may have quite possibly done the same with my other edits. But without even reading my edits or the articles that you were deleting, you just zapped them from existence. In all reasonableness, you could have just as easily deleted my edit and I would have taken the hint, gone back and thought through what I added with a more critical discourse. But you didn't do that. Regardless, that problem was solved and is in the past, so now I'd really like to know what part of my edit in the Obama administration article (what caused you to ban me) that was wrong? Was it adding more czars to the list? If that's the case, you're wrong. We all know there are more czars than what is currently in the article. So what part of my edit was vandalism--what is it that you referred to as purely "imagination?"  DerekE 01:25, 9 November 2009 (EST)

−
:Derek wants examples of what he did wrong. OK, here are some of the edits he added to the Obama Administration article on Nov. 3; he apparentlyu cut and pasted from an anonymous email message with no effort to verify even the most basic facts:

−
:::: Afghanistan Czar Richard Holbrooke Ultra liberal anti-gun former Gov. of New Mexico. Pro Abortion and legal drug use. false and malicious statements about a real diplomat who was never a governor.

−
:::: California Water Czar  David J. Hayes  Sr. Fellow of radical environmentalist group, "Progress Policy." No training or experience in water management. False statement about a prominent expert on water policy; there is no  "Progress Policy" group.

−
::::Drug Czar: Gil Kerlikowske; devoted lobbyist for every restrictive gun law proposal, Former Chief of Police in Liberal Seattle. Believes no American should own a firearm. Supports legalization of drugs false nonsense. (he actually said, any drug 'legalization' would be "waving the white flag", "legalization is off the the charts when it comes to discussion, from my viewpoint" and that "legalization vocabulary doesn't exist for me and it was made clear that it doesn't exist in President Obama's vocabulary." Specifically about marijuana, he said, "It's a dangerous drug")

−
::::Homeland Security Czar  John Brennan  Anti CIA activist. No training in diplomatic or government affairs. Believes Open Borders to Mexico and a dialog with terrorists and has suggested Obama disband US military. Unbelievable. Let's quote our own CP entry: "He served in the administration of George W. Bush, where Brennan has generally used strong means to ensure the safety of Americans, and was an architect of the interrogation techniques criticized by many liberals." (from John Brennan)

−
::::Faith Based Czar  Joshua DuBois  Political Black activist (Degree in Black Nationalism), seeks a separate black nation. Anti-gun ownership lobbyist. all nonsense. he's the one who brought Obama on Rick Warren's Presidential Forum. The list of DerekE's additions goes on and on. All with no regard to the truth or the damage it will do to CP. That's worse than incompetence, it's sabotage. RJJensen 02:24, 9 November 2009 (EST)

:As for gamer tactics (I'm assuming ref bonuses); while it's best to keep those links out of the encyclopedia page directly, long ago I ended up writing a blog about the game, at the time I figured an informative article with ref links would be a much more fun, productive way to refer people. And when I was still playing (I no longer play), the article referred hundreds of people. So, since it seems to be helpful I figure why not keep it out there to help spread the love about Travian. At this point, it's strictly working as an indirect medium for Travian to inform potential gamers about the game. I'm sure the makers of the game appreciate it in one way or another. Where, exactly, is this?  The links on the NavBox are all bogus.  Please provide me a link. --ṬK
+
:::::Oh cool. Thank you for that! Ill certainly read through that article and look into the issues some more. While I do feel that corruption stinks at the highest levels in American politics, the United States is still the greatest country on Earth - which is a belief I feel so strongly about, I proved my willingness to fight for our freedoms in the Marine Corps. But America is not perfect and no country can likely achieve permanent perfection. And political corruption certainly helps fuel many of the problems we see today.
 +
:::::Evidence of such corruption was seen in the tactics the Obama administration took to pass ObamaCare; despite a lack of Constitutional authority and backlash from a majority of State legislatures, the Federal government was allowed to takeover the health care industry. Then there's the bank bailouts, auto bailouts for the unions, and stimulus packages all aimed at 'stimulating' special interest groups, union pensions, and the democratic party -- all at the expense of taxpayers who receive nothing in return. Something tells me a true Constitutional Republic would not have taken any of those big government measures to worsen a problem that the government created in the first place.
 +
:::::Just think... What if, during a time when Bill Clinton was President, Barney Frank never got his sticker fingers involved with Fannie and Freddie? At the same, what if they didn't pass legislation that would incentivize banks (like Freddie and Fannie) to lend to people who they knew could never pay them back?  At the time, Barney Frank and his lobbyists didnt care what repercussions would result from it, they just wanted the banks to give houses to anyone and everyone even if those people couldn't afford it. If all of that never happened, would we be in this financial/housing/bank debt mess today? I cant say for sure, but I do know that the political corruption that stirs this mess is what bothers me the most.
 +
:::::What ever happened to Senators adhering to the voice of State legislatures? How can it possibly be good for our Constitutional Republic if the 17th amendment took away state power and gave it to the federal government and special interest groups? Do we have a proactive government or a reactive government? Which is better? I do have a lot of questions on this topic...  Alright, you got me on a rant so I'll end it here. == My CNBC discovery ==
 +
I see that you apparently know much about CNBC and those who are in CNBC, so I want to ask you another question. You told me that as far as you know, Rick Santelli and Larry Kudlow are the only conservatives allowed on CNBC, but I want to ask you about Maria Bartiromo, another sweety from CNBC. I found out that there are many allegations of a conservative bias made by liberals against her, but there are no allegations of a liberal bias made by conservatives against her. Bartiromo has also been accused by liberals of "spouting conservative talking points." Also, I remember one time she was asked if she was a Republican by congressman Alan Greyson. Senator Barney Frank seems to detest her and there was a debate between him and her that was featured on the O'Reilly Factor last month on his "Fact Check" segment. I have done my research on Newsbusters, google, and youtube, and I've found many things. It does appear like she favors conservatives more than liberals. So what do you think? Do you think that she leans more to the right than to the left? If so, should she therefore be included included in the short list of conservatives allowed on CNBC? Is she someone we conservatives need to keep our eyes on on CNBC? Is Maria Bartiromo therefore better than Erin Burnett? I haven't seen her in a while though. Willminator 10:53, 5 January 2011 (EST)
 +

 +
:My apologies for the delayed response. I was writing a response earlier but got sidetracked; however, Maria Bartiromo has always intrigued me, so your questions about her prompted me to do some research. I in fact learned that Maria Bartiromo may be more conservative or a free market capitalist than I originally thought. A better response requires some more thinking on it though, simply because CNBC - owned by NBC, is a part of the equation. DerekE 01:30, 7 January 2011 (EST)
 +

 +
::On a second take, it does look like Maria Bartiromo is more conservative than liberal. So I should revise my original assumption that Rick Rantelli and Larry Kudlow are the only conservatives on CNBC; it would take me more research and watching Bartiromo to get a better understanding of her positions though. What I do like about CNBC is that they are forced to appeal more to free market capitalist thinking, because that's what drives the stock market. Although, many hosts, on occasion, do love to add comments of agreement in regards to the liberal agenda. Erin Burnett is guilty of this at times, which is a major turnoff, in my opinion. But there's something about her that I can't get enough of. :-) So I let it slide, but only with her. I can't say for sure if Maria Bartiromo is, quote, "better" than Erin Burnett. I'd say if Maria Bartiromo is more conservative than Burnett, than she is probably more likely to provide accurate information when discussing such things as global warming or the environmental agenda and the silliness of "green" stocks; she may also have a better understanding of the damaging effects of the policies of the Obama administration on the stock market. Depending on how well the new congress is able to re-awaken the economy, I might start getting back into investing and the stock market -- in which case I'll certainly start following Bartiromo a bit more. But with Obama messing with the economy and causing so much uncertainty, and after having two years of a liberal supermajority messing with the economy in the worst possible ways, I'm just not confident enough to get back into investing. I'm saving money, instead.  :-D  DerekE 22:52, 7 January 2011 (EST)

Amazongate

A climategate and then a glaciergate and now an Amazongate. http://www.australianclimatemadness.com/?p=2956

And Alabama State Climatologist Dr. John Christy of the University of Alabama in Huntsville, has split ranks with other members of the discredited “hockey team” of climatologists exposed for fraudulently hiding and destroying data in the Climategate scandal that broke on November 19, 2009.

Awesome!!! :-D Thanks, Andy!
My apologies for the delay in response - I just got back from vacation. I am truly so very honored to have earned this privilege.
Jesus said:
“ I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me. (John 14:6) ”
My prayer, a promise to God and to faith, and with it I give thanks for this life and for THE sacrifice Christ gave for me:

Dear God, I am a sinner and need forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His precious blood and died for my sin. I am willing to turn from sin. I now invite Christ to come into my heart and life as my personal Saviour.

“ And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. (Mark 16:15) ”

“ For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!" (1 Corinthians 9:16) ”

“ For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (Romans 1:16) ”

“ The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever. -- John Adams wrote this in a letter to his wife, Abigail, on July 3, 1776. ”
Long live Conservapedia; the achievements of Christianity and conservatism, from past generations and to this time forward forever, the truth shall set the world free. DerekE 17:00, 28 June 2010 (EDT)

Superb addition, Derek, to Best New Conservative Words!--Andy Schlafly 23:52, 4 July 2010 (EDT)

Thanks! The source I added is disturbing to read, but it's exactly what the Obama administration is doing with every new "stimulus package" these liberal's force onto the American people. It's disgusting. Liberals have single handedly transformed the term "stimulus," by doing the exact opposite of what a stimulus insinuates. It goes well with liberal deceit. "Not a democracy"

Thank you for that! It is among the most prevalent falsities repeated about our government...in some surveys over 70% of students stated the United States was a democracy..... :S --ṬK/Admin/Talk 07:09, 4 August 2010 (EDT)

Most of the time when I'm discussing our American government with someone, I always find myself having to correct them when they refer to the U.S. as a "democracy." I cannot stand it, either.
Please clarify your "not a democracy" remarks. It looks like you are saying that the world's most democratic country is non-democratic. That sounds like the lead-in to some Marxist talking points. Is that what you meant?
Or were you possibly referring to the distinction between direct democracy and representative democracy? --Ed Poor Talk 13:32, 31 August 2011 (EDT)
I was referring to the fact that the U.S. is a Constitutional Republic - err, it was before the Seventeenth Amendment allowed Senators to be controlled by "mob rule," otherwise known as special interest groups rather than adhering to the rule of law. In a way, you are right, America is now a "democratic republic" of some sort. Does that help clarify what I meant? DerekE 13:46, 31 August 2011 (EDT)
No, but it explains your motivation a bit. If you feel that American democracy is corrupt, would you like to write about this corruption? Watching "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington may provide additional inspiration, if not a few examples of the type. --Ed Poor Talk 13:48, 31 August 2011 (EDT)
Oh cool.
Evidence of such corruption was seen in the tactics the Obama administration took to pass ObamaCare; despite a lack of Constitutional authority and backlash from a majority of State legislatures, the Federal government was allowed to takeover the health care industry.
Just think...
What ever happened to Senators adhering to the voice of State legislatures? How can it possibly be good for our Constitutional Republic if the 17th amendment took away state power and gave it to the federal government and special interest groups? Do we have a proactive government or a reactive government? Which is better? I do have a lot of questions on this topic... Alright, you got me on a rant so I'll end it here. Restoring Honor

Thanks for creating that! Was just discussing earlier with another Admin that we needed such an entry. Policy

[6] That, among other provocations that have earlier been removed, were my reasons, Derek. In light of your contributions, I am responding to your inappropriately placed question about another user. Here we adhere to a MYOB policy, detailed in the CP Guidelines. If some admin action bothers you greatly, the appropriate action is to send the admin involved an email. --ṬK/Admin/Talk 21:30, 5 September 2010 (EDT)

OK, my apologies. The blocked user was done so for lying and for good reasons; in all honesty, your actions did not bother me in the least bit, not now, not then. My sophomoric comment was merely a neutral consideration, although -- instead, I should have but was too slow to put my foot in my big mouth before I commented when my thoughts weren't needed nor informed. Not only do I respect your actions, but, also I can certainly understand why a quick email to you would have been a more appropriate action on my behalf. I hope this can be the end of that. I'm over it. :-) DerekE 02:10, 6 September 2010 (EDT)

My CNBC discovery

My apologies for the delayed response.
On a second take, it does look like Maria Bartiromo is more conservative than liberal.

Malware articles

Hi Derek,

You seem to have written several articles recently that are identical to content here. Do you own this material? If so, it would be best to post a clear notice to that effect. Jcw 17:49, 2 August 2011 (EDT)

Well I did just purchase a new MacBook Pro, updated to Mac OS X Lion, and installed VirusBarrier X6 - and some of the information that I used was provided by Intego while installing their antivirus software. But it seemed common, so I only used citations where necessary; although, the link you provided above should probably be inserted to the articles for citation purposes. You're more than welcome to do so and add any other information you might find relevant. I don't own any of the articles, if that's what you're asking... DerekE 18:23, 2 August 2011 (EDT)
Fine. Since you got the pleasure of calling me out for not adding a reference, I'll do it. ;-) DerekE 18:48, 2 August 2011 (EDT)
I hope you're enjoying the new MBP - I'm due one soon. I'm sure you know what you're doing with the malware articles, but as I understand it, it's a copyright violation to include other people's material verbatim. I might be over-reacting, I'm sure you'll do what's best. Jcw
I definitely understand why you mentioned it to me. I didn't think much of it while initially adding the info to the articles (thinking it was just common knowledge); but since you brought it to my attention, as it turns out, some of it isn't common knowledge because Intego was the company who discovered it (and published it). I'm usually a stickler about adding citations to any articles I edit, but since I got lazy this time I'm glad you caught it before it went unnoticed. Hat tip to you, Jcw. DerekE 19:10, 2 August 2011 (EDT)
No problem, glad to be of help. Happy editing. Jcw 19:11, 2 August 2011 (EDT)

IRC

Hello,
After some discussion (on my talk page and Andy's) it has been decided that I start an Internet Relay Chat channel for Conservapedia, since our old one has been dead since 2009. It is now registered and somewhat set up. I don't know if you use IRC or are interested in doing so, but anyone with block privileges on Conservapedia can also get block privileges on the new IRC channel. Unfortunately, IRC accounts are deleted after 30 days of being unused, so unless you plan on using the IRC at least once a month, there is probably not much point in registering. In any case, feel free to try it out--if you account gets deleted, we can always make another one later. If you are interested, please let me know!
The IRC channel is: #conservapedia @irc.accessIRC.net
Let me know if you have any questions or need anything else, also! --David B (TALK) 15:41, 11 April 2017 (EDT)
