Google Chrome
Google Chrome is a browser developed by Google and based on the same WebKit layout engine that Apple Inc.'s Safari browser uses, specifically, it uses the open-source code of the Chromium browser. It is currently available for Microsoft Windows including XP, Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. There are also versions available for the Linux and Mac OS X operating systems.
Controversy
Although one might think there is nothing controversial about a web browser, this on is to some extent. Many say it is a very good, stable browser, but others complain that it was stolen from the Chromium Browser project, which was separate for Google originally. Whether it is true that Chromium was a separate project at the time, it now seems to be owned by Google. In any case, there is some concern that this browser tracks activity and reports it to Google, much as Google's online services and Android system do.
