Yesterday you were arguing Dixiecrats didn't exist after they disbanded, today you argue neocons existed before they were created. RobSGive Peace a chance 16:18, May 16, 2023 (EDT)
- I should've clarified better yesterday: the States' Rights Democratic Party on the national level didn't exist past 1948. To my admission, I forgot that Dixiecrats did exist at the state level, with David C. Treen being a member in Louisiana briefly. â
LT(Matthew 26:52) Tuesday, 16:21, May 16, 2023 (EDT)- Well fine. But Strom Thurmond was not, and none of them served in the US Congress. RobSGive Peace a chance 16:28, May 16, 2023 (EDT)
- As to neocons, you'd probably have a difficult time arguing they existed in the 1960s, the name may have been formulated in the 1970s, wasn't used until the late 1980s and early 1990s, and did not exist at the time of Welch in the 1950s. RobSGive Peace a chance 16:31, May 16, 2023 (EDT)
- Irving Kristol invented the term to separate himself from the violent "New Left" that took over liberalism in the late 1960s. But the "neocons" all pretty much remained Trotskyites. And Bill Buckley was hardly a Trotskyite. RobSGive Peace a chance 16:34, May 16, 2023 (EDT)
- Actually, that's incorrect. To say that "none of them [Dixiecrats] served in the US Congress" runs contrary to the historical reality that there were indeed several Southern Democrats in Congress who joined and publicly supported the SRP, such as Sens. Eastland and Stennis, as well as Reps. Rankin and Hébert. Also, while Treen wasn't a congressman in 1960 as a member of the Louisiana Dixiecrats, he was elected to Congress 12 years later. â
LT(Matthew 26:52) Tuesday, 16:38, May 16, 2023 (EDT)- Oh, you mean Biden's buddies? That would be interesting to document. RobSGive Peace a chance 16:48, May 16, 2023 (EDT)
- Eastland and Stennis? Yes. Rankin and Hébert? I'm not familiar with Biden having any connection to the latter two. â

- (ec) I think you're getting off on the wrong track here.
- In the immediate post-war period, a younger generation who had risked their lives to fight the war (such as Richard Nixon & John Kennedy) quickly came to the realization that they had been lied to during the war by Allied propaganda - that they had risked their lives for self determination of peoples, free elections, etc. When those things did not occur, a hardline reaction set in, led by Joe McCarthy. RobSGive Peace a chance 16:57, May 16, 2023 (EDT)
- Yeah, you've told me about this before. Anyways, thanks for reminding me about Tailgunner Joe; I can probably squeeze in some information about McCarthyism into this page as well. â

- Self determination is still a huge issue. While the German's voted for Hitler, no Russian ever voted for communism. And it is Western fascists, led by the United States, that still want to deny the Russian people of Lugansk, Donetsk, and Crimea their right of self-determination, and make them slaves of the Western oligarchs of the World Economic Forum. RobSGive Peace a chance 17:09, May 16, 2023 (EDT)
- So the Russians only now are coming to realize the lies of Western propagandists that Nixon and Kennedy discovered when they were first elected to Congress, 2 years ahead of McCarthy. RobSGive Peace a chance 17:11, May 16, 2023 (EDT)
- if you allow ideology and labels to guide your thinking, you end up sounding like Joe Biden: "White supremacy is the greatest terror threat to national security." RobSGive Peace a chance 17:15, May 16, 2023 (EDT)

For the record
In the interests of full disclosure, I created Wikipedia's article on the Moynihan Secrecy Commission in July 2005, and not without some challenges, I might add. I note it here cause it appears the Moynihan Commission Report is pivotal to this article. I read the Report backward and forward several times.
My point being, after more than several decades research on the subject, I will keep a close eye on the terms used being abused. RobSGive Peace a chance 20:12, July 9, 2023 (EDT)
- These were words of yours, not mine: "if you don't have anything positive to say about socialists and communists, just shut up." (Jan. 21, 2023) â
LTRev. 22:13 Monday, 20:20, July 9, 2023 (EDT)- That's true, given the inroads Nazis has made in the United States government and NATO. We don't need anti-communist, pro-Nazi rhetoric in the present environment. We need people willing to stand up and sacrifice all against Nazis, fascists, Nazi and fascist sympathizers, neocons, globalists, and others who have brought the planet to the brink of nuclear Armageddon (a fact which was not present in the last go round with Nazism and fascism).
- If you are ever to understand anything about Communism and socialism, you also need to recognize when Nazism and fascism is pounding on front door, standing on your front lawn and in your own backyard. RobSGive Peace a chance 20:29, July 9, 2023 (EDT)
- "anti-communist, pro-Nazi" There's your obvious propagation of Marxist propaganda right there yet again. The "orthodox" socialists have long sought to associate conservative moral aversion to Communism with Nazism, and unfortunately have succeeded too well. The reality is that conservatives oppose all forms of socialism, including Communism and Nazism, while Nazi "anti-Communism" is merely an exemplification of socialist intrafaction rivaling akin to the quarreling between Stalinist and Trotskyites. â

- Call it the "stopped clock" phenomenon: in the present environment, communists and socialist are correct in their assessment of the threat from Western-backed neo-Nazi fascism and Nazism. Criticism of communism in the present environment is neo-Nazi, pro-fascist rhetoric. Just hold in the anti-communist rhetoric until NATO goes whimpering home with its tail between its legs. Anti-communism is not the fight for the present moment. RobSGive Peace a chance 20:41, July 9, 2023 (EDT)
- "Criticism of communism in the present environment is neo-Nazi, pro-fascist rhetoric." That is exactly what a card-carrying Communist would say. Need not I elaborate further, for the horse's mouth surely spouted its admission so straightforward and abruptly? â
LTRev. 22:13 Monday, 20:44, July 9, 2023 (EDT)- (ec) The present moment is an aberration; it was der führer Joe Biden who overthrew democracy and sprung this Nazi crap on us. You should have enough sense to see that.
- We don't live in an Alice in Wonderland world where everything fits neatly into your little ideological boxes. We live in the real world. And until NATO Nazism is defeated, we need to just shut about communism. The alternatives you offer are only fascism, globalism, and Nazism. Everyone knows democracy and liberalism are dead, or were only lies in the first place. RobSGive Peace a chance 20:52, July 9, 2023 (EDT)

- It's not that I oppose efforts to smash Ukronazism, rather my problem is with expedient deception that openly glorifies Communism. â
LTRev. 22:13 Monday, 21:01, July 9, 2023 (EDT)- All that needs to be done is reign in the anti-communist rhetoric for a few months until global NATO Nazism is defeated. We've had more than 100 years of trash talking communism, with the exception of 1941-1945. Ceasing criticism for a few months is not the same as promoting communism. It's simply recognizing the greater danger, rather than crawling in bed with the greater danger. RobSGive Peace a chance 21:06, July 9, 2023 (EDT)
- NATO Nazis are democratic freedom fighters - that's what mainstream media is saying today, right now. And you are the one who will have to live with that if this time they are victorious. RobSGive Peace a chance 21:10, July 9, 2023 (EDT)

- "And you are the one who will have to live with that" Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha- no. I look forward to a great mansion and vineyard provided by my glorious Savior and Redeemer in the New Jerusalem in the age to come. And my current top priority in life is to prepare for the coming of our Lord:
| â | But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. | â |

- I currently have not yet particularly researched the nitpicky definitive details of differentiation concerning tabernacles. â
LTRev. 22:13 Monday, 21:26, July 9, 2023 (EDT)- Tabernacles & mansions are both dwelling places, kinda like the human body is a dwelling place for the spirit. RobSGive Peace a chance 21:28, July 9, 2023 (EDT)
- I see. Your vague usage of "the spirit" can be misleading, however. If you're referring to the Holy Spirit, that is only in the case of believers with godly faith; if you're referring to the individual, it misapplies the concept of the soul. Individual humans in of themselves have no immortal "spirit," as the person is the soul, a combination of the dust of the ground plus the breath of life. (Gen. 2:7, Ecc. 12:7) â
LTRev. 22:13 Monday, 21:31, July 9, 2023 (EDT)- I see. You read the reference to "mansions" in Revelations as meaning God is gonna give you bunch of mansions, golf courses, and Mercedes Benz's and not a reference to tabernacles or dwelling places of spirits in God's Kingdom. Ok, that makes sense. RobSGive Peace a chance 21:36, July 9, 2023 (EDT)
- Excellent demonstration of psychological projection there, attempting to portray me as worldly in outlook as you are. â
