DCCC

In 2019, Bustos was elected to chair the DCCC.[2] Under her leadership, the Democrats suffered major defeats in the 2020 U.S. House elections despite expecting otherwise,[3][4][5] with many seats they flipped in the 2018 Midterms flipping back towards the Republican Party, including South Carolina's 1st district,[6] Florida's 26th[7] and 27th[8] districts, New Mexico's 2nd district,[9] and Iowa's 1st district.[10] After a chaotic post-election meeting as was reported by The Hill,[11] Bustos announced that she would not seek chairing the DCCC for a second term.[12]
