John Astin

John Astin (born March 30, 1930) is an American actor known primarily for having played Gomez Addams in the 1960s ABC comedy series, The Addams Family in which he co-starred with Carolyn Jones (1930-1983). He also appeared in two episodes of the second season of the live action Batman TV series as the Riddler (replacing Frank Gorshin, that role's regular portrayer).
He is the father of actor Sean Astin. Astin is one of the only two surviving main actors from The Addams Family, the other being Lisa Loring, who played Gomez Addams' daughter Wednesday.
Astin was formerly married to actress Patty Duke (1946-2016).
