George Shiras, Jr. was an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States for 11 years.[1] He is known for casting the swing vote which struck down the federal income tax - leading to the ratification of the 16th Amendment.[1] He was also known for supporting individuals who challenged government power.[2]
Shiras proved himself to be a back-stabber RINO when he voted with the majority and the Democrats in Plessy v. Ferguson in 1896, which upheld "separate but equal" racial segregation.
