Climategate

JPatt, I know in the past I have immaturely vandalized this site, but this whole Climategate scandal has really opened my mind. I would like to ask you to help me expand my article on Climategate--CarlMcK 15:00, 27 November 2009 (EST)

Welcome back but you know I have to show you the door. Newly converted soul, watch this video on ClimateGate Hide The Decline

Editing my user page?

I don't mean to pick a fight with a Sysop, but it is legal for you to delete things from my user page. Isn't on of the rule "we don't censor"? Just wondering. Until then I will revert my user page, if you have a problem with that, feel free to undo any of my actions. Also, I have some Hebrew on my user page, please be careful not to mess it up. --JewishConservative 17:58, 25 May 2009 (EDT)

Sysops have the power here, regardless if your page. Mentioning those rats is forbidden here, it will have to be removed. Don't take personally, it is a rule.--Jpatt 22:44, 25 May 2009 (EDT)

I apologize, but can you please post a link to show me where this rule is? I'm not questioning weather it is there or not, I just won't be 100% happy with this closure until i find that rule.--JewishConservative 23:06, 25 May 2009 (EDT)

Unspoken rule, no rats ever, no mentioning rats, no rat pages allowed. Don't take my word for it, go straight to the top. user:Aschlafly --Jpatt 23:13, 25 May 2009 (EDT)

Baghdad story

Did you even follow through on reading the actual article that all of those blogs referred to? The figures given [2] were for all of Iraq not Baghdad and only totaled the number of American soldiers not total war related deaths which include civilians. Factoring in those we get 7,496 which includes civilians and security forces.--Lynus 23:19, 8 January 2009 (EST)

--Thanks for pointing out that tiny error.--Jpatt 23:26, 8 January 2009 (EST)

Tiny error? Seems like a pretty big one considering that you simply went off a headline on a blog and mixed up a city from a country and the fact that the figures are off by a factor of 10.--Lynus 23:34, 8 January 2009 (EST)
Whatever. --Jpatt 23:49, 8 January 2009 (EST)
BTW, the headline is still incorrect and refers to Baghdad.--Lynus 23:54, 8 January 2009 (EST)
Still a true statement. --Jpatt 23:57, 8 January 2009 (EST)
Well if we exclude black people then the headline, "No black people were killed on 9/11" is a true statement.--Lynus 00:07, 9 January 2009 (EST)
You are better than me, big deal. Another sysop corrected already.--Jpatt 00:08, 9 January 2009 (EST)

Satan/ Democratic Party

I'm sorry, I'm new here, could you tell me what I did wrong?--SamSnith Febuary 2

What was wrong is you took a serious article here and made nonsensical insertions. Granted that Planned Parenthood is as evil as they get but it is not for the Satan article. Plus you added factless assertion that most people don't worship Satan. I would disagree, if most people put money before God, that is Satan calling.--Jpatt 02:03, 2 February 2009 (EST)

News project

Jp, how would you like to be co-project leader of the news project? In recognition of your contributions to the news project and your recent promotion to sysop, I would appreciate your assistance in leading the news project. --DeanStalk 01:19, 3 January 2009 (EST)

What do my duties entail? Yes, I am interested. --Jpatt 01:20, 3 January 2009 (EST)

Jp, We currently have 80 Wanted pages. Any ideas on motivating our project members to make progress on this list? --DeanStalk 00:57, 7 January 2009 (EST)

Jp, as the news co-project leader, I would appreciate your input to my recommendation to delete the news suggestions section of the project. --DeanStalk 11:20, 9 February 2009 (EST)

Thanks Dean, I say delete however Talk:Mainpage is the location for this type of information. How do we associate with? --jpatt 17:58, 9 February 2009 (EST)
What do you mean "How do we associate with?" --DeanStalk 19:36, 9 February 2009 (EST)
Well, Talk:Mainpage is essentially comprised of questions regarding Wikiproject:News items. I count eight Headlines that say "News" and the rest comment on a News item. I suggest instead of News/Suggestions we should make Talk:Mainpage a part of WikiProject:News, possibly by template.--jpatt 21:53, 9 February 2009 (EST)
Ok, I understand. I don't think we need to make Talk:Mainpage a part of WikiProject:News; I think it should remain as it is, but we can be on the lookout for possible news items. --DeanStalk 22:36, 9 February 2009 (EST)

Kamaunamauna fake article

Hi JPatt, thank you for deleting the "Kamaunamauna" nonsense article made by a parodist earlier today. Since the user who created the page has been blocked for inserting false info, do you think the user's page should be deleted as well? located here: http://www.conservapedia.com/User_talk:HaoLe - My concern in this is that when a page is deleted, it no longer appears in the users contribution history, so the user could ask for a review of the block, and someone who does not remember the fake/parody pages were deleted might not see the reason for the block. Thanks - Taj 20:54, 7 January 2009 (EST)

Thx, deleted.--Jpatt 22:25, 7 January 2009 (EST)
Thank you very much! :-) Taj 22:28, 7 January 2009 (EST)

Obama

Hi JPatt, I don't think Obama should be included in the Prominent Muslim section as there is no definitive evidence that he is one. The basis for his inclusion there is based on circumstantial evidence. Therefore it is opinion not fact. This does not correspond with fair and balanced ethic of this wiki. -- unsigned user

BTW I am not an Obama supporter! -- unsigned user

Can you prove he isn't Liberalist! I thought not, so on behath of JPatt, be quiet! --Deadpool

Thanks and Help

Thanks for the welcome.

I've ran into a few problems already, one being that accessing Conservapedia:Desk gives me "A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the software. The last attempted database query was: (SQL query hidden) from within function "MathRenderer::_recall". MySQL returned error "1267: Illegal mix of collations (latin1_swedish_ci,IMPLICIT) and (utf8_general_ci,COERCIBLE) for operation '=' (localhost)"."--Tyler 01:45, 2 February 2009 (EST)

Ok, I'll just have to wait then. My other problem is that I created a new page for Sean Hannity's new show Hannity and for some reason Hannity & Colmes links to Hannity, not Hannity and Colmes. Can you help on this? Thanks.--Tyler 01:50, 2 February 2009 (EST)
I'm having a lot more trouble, I can't access this site from home. I keep getting a "Forbidden" error and it says it couldn't find the 404 page, I can't access any part of the site. When I try from a proxy or my Blackberry (which I'm on) and it loads fine. I don't know what's up, if its the site or me. If you could please ask around to whoever runs the site and see if it could be on my end, it would be much appreiceated. Reverted edits

I see you reverted my edits on plutonium and uranium. What was the problem? What does the "cutnpaste URL" in your edit descriptions mean? --Fairfieldrr 19:32, 12 February 2009 (EST)

I questioned your edits because they were word for word the same on other websites. Since the description of those items may not change much between sites, I may have been too hasty.--jpatt 20:28, 12 February 2009 (EST)
Actually, the version present before my edits was the copy/paste (a fact of which I hadn't been aware of until now). Should I erase everything in the current versions and start over, or should the articles first be deleted by an admin and then restarted? --Fairfieldrr 20:42, 12 February 2009 (EST)

L'Hopital's Rule

May I inquire as to why the article on L'Hopital's Rule was deleted? The content seemed far from "non-encyclopedic". --Economist 18:22, 13 February 2009 (EST)

We include English only pages here. If it's of importance or of value and you want to re-add without all the symbols, be my guest. --jpatt 18:26, 13 February 2009 (EST)

I was looking through the recent logs and was disturbed to find a vulgar comment in a block made by you in which you made a rather distasteful accusation/joke about the user Susanrose. SimonAG 16:59, 11 April 2009 (EDT)

Sorry to hear you are disturbed, I guess innocent until proven guilty next time.--Jpatt 17:12, 11 April 2009 (EDT)
I think it was the hypocrisy of it more than anything. Looking through the list it appears a number of people are banned for having 'vulgar' names and yet you saw fit to make a rather vulgar comment yourself. SimonAG 18:14, 11 April 2009 (EDT)
  • Well, I think you are a moronic liberal troll, SimonAG. Do you consider that a "vulgar" comment? Perhaps you should stick with the less vulgar sites in the UK, and not continue to edit here. RobertWDP = SimonAG. Godspeed to you, bye! --₮K/Admin/Talk 22:37, 11 April 2009 (EDT)

Antichrist

You objected my removal of your utilizing smear tactics by relating the antichrist to Obama by posting on my talk page:

"Eight years of the left demonizing Bush, it's nice to see someone else getting the association. Relevant."

I'd like to get a response to my question (seeing how I'm failing to get a reply on my talk page): "What is an example of the left demonizing Bush based on a word association on his name?"

Regardless of precedents, this is just plain silly. Translating and manipulating words until it sounds like it resembles something is not a logical argument, and is often used by proponents of Nostradamus' predictions. I don't support this tactic, regardless of beliefs or viewpoints. ATang 11:16, 6 August 2009 (EDT)

More of your moving

From what I've noticed, I don't think moving the article matters too much because the new Bluetooth has been accessed more than 250k times anyway. I think when you move an article all the statistics move with it. (I could be wrong). TimH 21:59, 26 September 2009 (EDT)

When I moved Obama birth certificate lawsuits, the original count stayed 8,195 and now as Bluetooth totals 30,000. It is fact when you delete an article and restore, it resets the page count. I believe a move is different.--Jpatt 22:03, 26 September 2009 (EDT)

Today's vandalism

It looks like CP may be in for a long night with all the blog posts about the Conservative Bible Project, and I see you're working hard to keep everything under control. I'll be around most of this evening -- let me know if there's any way a normal user can help out (editors whose posts need to be reverted, etc.). --MarkGall 19:24, 5 October 2009 (EDT)

Sadly gay

The reason Rev. Moon is against homosexuality is not so much that "God has forbidden it" but that it's a lifestyle that makes you miserable. The Bible says "Outside the city are the fornicators" not because some angel stands by the gate like a bouncer, but because fornication pulls us away from God.

They don't want to hear this message, so they attack the messenger. Too bad, because along with the diagnosis the doctor also has a cure in mind. --Ed Poor Talk 13:47, 9 October 2009 (EDT)

Christopher Columbus

You reverted the change I made on the Christopher Columbus article. If you follow the link for the picture of the ship in the section marked "Third Voyage", you'll see that it is a recreation of the Santa Maria, not a ship called the Isabbella. Thanks, SharonW

Thanks. It was my first edit here (I'm not very adventurous!) and I was a little bummed when you reverted it.

Blocked?

You recently blocked me for 'too many reverts'. However, I had, and up to this moment in time, have, only reverted once on Conservapedia. So I was wondering how exactly it could be said that this was too many? DWiggins 08:59, 3 November 2009 (EST)

Your edits have been disruptive, please contribute in a responsible manner.--Jpatt 09:28, 3 November 2009 (EST)
Okay, first of all that was not the block reason, so I would kindly request that you answer the very reasonable question I have asked concerning the issue of the number of reverts. Secondly, may I ask in what way any of my edits have been disruptive? Simply because another user has misunderstood a concept does not mean I am in the wrong. DWiggins 10:07, 3 November 2009 (EST)
May I kindly reiterate my request for an answer? DWiggins 19:45, 5 November 2009 (EST)

RINOs

To be a RINO, one must be moderate or liberal overall. The article itself says "politicians who claim to be Republican but are in fact liberal, and therefore generally debase the winning conservative coalition base of the Republican Party." Hagel and Graham are hardly liberals; they merely disagree with conservatives on one issue each (Hagel especially). As Ronald Reagan said, "Your 80% friend is not your 20% enemy." And Reagan raised taxes; is he a RINO? ChuckR 18:56, 5 November 2009 (EST)

Sorry, it's not just one issue. --Jpatt 18:58, 5 November 2009 (EST)
Mind giving sources then? Especially on Hagel. To my knowledge, he's only ever broke with Republicans on Iraq. His 2008 ACU score was 83.70; in 2007, it was 79. His lifetime rating is 84.67. ChuckR 22:28, 5 November 2009 (EST)
Hagel source- earmarks http://watchdog.net/p/chuck_hagel/earmarks . The more I look at his record I am now rethinking his RINO status. http://www.ontheissues.org/Senate/Chuck_Hagel.htm --Jpatt 22:57, 5 November 2009 (EST)

Block question

Who can block a person's ability to email other users from here? I don't see that option available to me now (Andy gave me blocking rights only to help out with the Colbert zombies) and I don't remember if I had it when I was a siteadmin. Just curious. Jinx McHue 22:34, 13 November 2009 (EST)

Question

Hi Jpatt,

Since Andy has his talk page locked, I will ask you my question. What makes you so sure your religion is right? I mean, if you had been born in a country where Christianity is a minority religion, I'm sure you would not be Christian. How, then, can you be so sure that your religion is right when choosing a religion is largely a function of what you grew up believing. If you are indoctrinated at an early age, it is nearly impossible to change your beliefs. Thanks. LindseyE 22:50, 13 November 2009 (EST)

I noticed you didn't make it here past 24 hours. I will leave your good question for others. As for my religion being right and somebody else religion wrong, I don't see it that way. The three biggest religions practiced by much of the world-- all have the same God. Since we are all flawed individuals, getting life just right seems out of reach. You believe in one true God or you are an apostate. I heard that even as an apostate, a humble confession on your death bed may grant you purgatory (final stop, Heaven guaranteed) through his unknowing Mercy.
One percent of America is bonafide atheist. It takes some ego and some will power to fight the truth that 99% of America disagrees with atheist logic. That is tough, so much so, atheists have to battle daily to keep all that is good from seeping into their minds. By the way, the mind was built for knowledge. All that is good comes from God, because of God. The light of knowledge of the Lord is not placed underneath the table where it cannot shine. It is placed on top of the table for all to see. --Jpatt 16:04, 14 November 2009 (EST)

I'm really sorry to bother you with this, but I've just discovered some simple grammatical errors in the math level templates

{{Template:Math-e}} {{Template:Math-m}} {{Template:Math-a}}

Could you please unlock them for me? (Or change "concept" to "concepts"?) I have to admit to being more of a nuisance about this than I should be, because Andy unlocked them for me a few weeks ago, and I didn't catch these errors. But his talk page is locked.

By the way, speaking of bothering you, I may want you to indulge me for some more image uploads by email.

KSorenson

John:

I am deeply disappointed in your characterization of KSorenson's posting as "childish". None of her behavior here has been the least bit childish.

I have had a number of email communications with you, and I know that you are a gentleman, and that that kind of characterization of other people is not the way you think, at least in private communications.

PatrickD 00:07, 18 November 2009 (EST)

I am sorry to see you go, hopefully you'll change your mind. What is so special about KSorenson? She left a parting shot, she said she was retiring. I wasn't going to let her comment about Larry Johnson and her characterization of ASchlafly stay on her page. The critics said two years ago that we are finished. Yet we are still here bigger than ever. I respect both you and Mark but will not lose any sleep that you dissatisfied. We have had good people come and go. This will not change. --Jpatt 00:23, 18 November 2009 (EST)

John: You are forgetting something. Please read your email message from me a few days ago. There's something you need to do. You know what it is, and why I am not going into details in public. I'm trying to help, or at least do no harm. PatrickD 17:09, 22 November 2009 (EST)

I figured out what was being referred to. It wasn't hard, I just looked a few sections up on this page. I've made the changes, and left edit comments requesting a re-protect. So now someone will surely fix that. Patrick was apparently trying to fix a (minor) security breach. Was that what the email was about?
But why did you block him and delete his pages? "Hopefully you'll change your mind"? Huh? Do you want him back, or not?

Welcome to Conservapedia banner

Hi Jpatt, I noticed in the mainpageright template there's a "Welcome to Conservapedia" banner, which can also been seen when viewing the source; however, when I go to the main page as well as its source the banner is no longer showing. I think it's a great banner! It's somewhat in line with New Welcome Banner proposal that I brought up awhile ago, which I updated here: http://conservapedia.com/Wiki/conservapedia

Do you know if this is something still being considered? Thanks for the update in advance! DerekE 16:50, 21 November 2009 (EST)

Hi DerekE, yes I saw your template. I agree if this has benefits beyond appearance, such as SEO related, I would support. Big changes in appearance are typical a slow-go process. Upper management will let you know when a decision is made. Continue to tweak when you feel it is necessary.--Jpatt 19:00, 23 November 2009 (EST)
When I have some more time, I'll be sure and make more changes to it. No worries about the appearance change being a slow process, I understand such a change can take time. In terms of SEO, adding the banner would be one of many beneficial practices, the other important edit would be to the Conservapedia.com meta-description that shows up in Google results. But again, these are two practices from a list of many that goes into improvements for Search Engine Optimization - some of which Conservapedia cannot control and are influenced by external links from related, high-authority web sites linking to Conservapedia. There's a lot that goes into it, so this is just one of many changes that would benefit in the long-term. DerekE 20:07, 23 November 2009 (EST)
