Dave Duffy is the founder and editor of Backwoods Home Magazine, a monthly conservative libertarian magazine and published in Oregon.

The theme of his magazine is "practical ideas for self-reliant living." His magazine publishes articles of interest to homesteaders, people living in rural areas, small farmers, gardeners and permaculture gardeners, and people going "back to the land". In that regard it is similar to the old Mother Earth News magazine, but with a significant difference: Backwoods Home Magazine has a conservative editorial viewpoint unlike the new liberal tone of Mother Earth News. He and his magazine and their website strongly support and writes articles monthly on the topic of gun rights, unalienable rights, the rights of homeschoolers, self-healthcare with herbs.
