Obadiah is a book in the Old Testament. It is one chapter long and consists of a vision to the prophet Obadiah.[1] It is a passionate condemnation by God of the virulent ethnic hatred toward the descendants of Jacob and violence done to them by the descendants of his brother Esau when they were uprooted from the land of Israel and taken to Babylon, promising vengeance by "saviors" going up to Mount Zion in Israel to rule Mount Esau "and the kingdom shall be the LORD's".[2]
