Discuss any changes you wish to make here. Admiral_Farmer (talk)

Oh, sorry, I hadn't seen the talk page when I left you a talk page message. I rewrote the page a bit and did some formatting. Patriotic Gamer (talk) 13:10, November 23, 2022 (EST)

This page was created by an obvious troll

First of all, the habit of capitalizing "white" when in reference to race is a standard ritual among white supremacists who hold a pagan, collectivist worship of "Aryanism" or whatever. Second of all, only leftists would obsess over racial identity, and it's inappropriate for any Conservapedia article to emphasize identity politics. Third of all, emphasizing Celler's heritage and background in the context it was used is a blatant antisemitic canard to insinuate some sort of "Jewish conspiracy" nonsense. Fourthly, the Hart-Celler Act was intended to remove racist restrictions against immigration that lingered from the Johnson-Reed Act.

The original author of this entry, probably an RW troll, has 24 hours to apologize and fix his bigotry or be banned. —LT (The Old Right was right!) Wednesday, 14:41, November 23, 2022 (EST)

Let's let things develop and them to establish their bona fidas. The object is find a collaborative consensus definition or understanding of contemporary terms and parlance in social media discussions. RobSGive Peace a chance 14:49, November 23, 2022 (EST)
[EC] There is zero chance that the original poster is a bona fide editor. RW trolls aren't even hiding their subversion anymore, and their plan is obvious: infiltrate Conservapedia, post racist propaganda here, and then "report" on WIGO:CP that Conservapedia is "infested with racism." They fact that they are willing to directly post white supremacist screeds is quite telling of their nature. —LT (The Old Right was right!) Wednesday, 14:54, November 23, 2022 (EST)
Yah. Everybody knows that and we can see it. Are you saying they're too dumb to know they are dealing with me? RobSGive Peace a chance 14:59, November 23, 2022 (EST)
RobSmith, your edits to the page earlier today failed to either a) rid the racism or b) rewrite the entire entry into an appropriate article. Although I know you're capable of recognizing most RW subversion, unfortunately there's been numerous times when you failed to crack down on those shenanigans before. Sorry to be rather harsh here in this instance in addressing your approach. —LT (The Old Right was right!) Wednesday, 15:03, November 23, 2022 (EST)
The article is not even categorized or back linked yet. It's on the clean-up list Category:Conservapedia Maintenance. RobSGive Peace a chance 15:05, November 23, 2022 (EST)
Apologies if I made some grammatical fixes to the article. Patriotic Gamer (talk) 14:54, November 23, 2022 (EST)
You're missing the point. The problem is that this entry is entirely racist, white supremacist propaganda. —LT (The Old Right was right!) Wednesday, 14:59, November 23, 2022 (EST)
It's a term commonly floated and flouted in both MSM and social media, and this is CP's understanding or definition of the term. Made collaboratively and collectively between me and a bunch of ratrolls. They know that and I know that. Do you think they think they can sneak anything in past me? Recent changes in guides to grammar as far as references to race

Recently, I bought about a dozen books on grammar/usage/writing as my interest in these subjects has increased.

Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS) on references to race:

The Chicago Manual of Style Online is the venerable, time-tested guide to style, usage, and grammar in an accessible online format. It is the indispensable reference for writers, editors, proofreaders, indexers, copywriters, designers, and publishers, informing the editorial canon with sound, definitive advice. Over 1.5 million copies sold.[1]

Pre-George Floyd: Use lower case for black and white to refer to a person’s race or ethnicity “unless a particular author or publisher prefers otherwise.”

As of June 22, 2020: Write Black with a capital B; write White with a capital W (and similar terms to maintain consistency like Brown).

It is with a spirit of equity and with an eye toward future generations—and with a debt of gratitude owed to those who have led us here—that we embrace the changes . . . We hope you will embrace them too.[2]

Associated Press (AP) Style guide on references to race:

Pre-George Floyd: Use lowercase for both black and white.

As of July 20, 2020: Capitalize Black in a racial, ethnic or cultural sense, conveying a shared sense of history, identity and community among people who identify as Black, including those in the African diaspora and within Africa.

Lowercase the term white in racial, ethnic and cultural senses.[3] Conservative (talk) 14:52, November 23, 2022 (EST)

American Psychology Association (APA) grammar guideline on references to race:

"Racial and ethnic groups are designated by proper nouns and are capitalized. Therefore, use “Black” and “White” instead of “black” and “white” (do not use colors to refer to other human groups; doing so is considered pejorative). Likewise, capitalize terms such as “Native American,” “Hispanic,” and so on." - APA Style/Grammar Guidelines [4]
