Andy, we decided a long time ago opinion Essays do not belong in Mainspace categories. That Essay in particular is just redundant racist spam cut n pasted from about 2 dozen other Essays designed to manipulate Google search traffic.

−

−
Furthermore, Conservapedia has a rule against self promotion, and in these spam Essays he has a link to all his other Essays with his user name.

−

−
If the Mainspace category is to remain, then the rule against self-promotion should be enforced. Thank you. RobSZelensky didn't kill himself 20:51, December 22, 2023 (EST)

::Rob, you make good points but I think there should be more leeway for strong editors to create essays and categorize them as they think best.  That includes you too.  Essays are a valuable part of this website (in contrast with the tyranny at Wikipedia which prohibits them).  The essay author is easily identified from the entry history.--Andy Schlafly (talk) 21:26, December 22, 2023 (EST)

−
:::I see your point; there's no problem with that. But cheating like this, bending the rules to create algorithms inside Conservapedia to promote his own Essays is what has led to his success. I could have done the same thing a long time ago, but chose to abide by the rules.

That, coupled with Mainspace categorization, makes it even more powerful. If you want Conservapedia's traffic to go up or at least not go down as fast, I would suggest cleaning up your user page so it's not an attack page on another editor.

−

−
But if you don't want to take my advice, so be it. Your just hurting your own readership and the website's readership. Why? Because nobody is interested in your dispute with another editor.

First off, don't condescend to me and treat me like I was your "pet" like you did in your most recent edit on my talk page because it's demeaning and insulting and people don't like being treated that way, okay?

−

−
Second, as this specific rule states, a user's pages and space (including his/her talk page) is his/her castle and can be done with as the user wishes (including the removal of unwanted messages) - but you only heed that rule when it applies to you and your talk page alone while you go out of your way to ignore that same rule when it comes to everyone else and their talk/user pages as you see fit (just as you likewise ignore the other rules here - some of which you unilaterally created yourself, without input from anyone else here - that you impose on everyone else).

−

−
Another thing to note - as much as you want to pretend otherwise, criticism of your behavior on this site is not "trolling", "incivility", "gossip", "vandalism" or "personal attacks" (except according only to you, further proving what others here have said about you self-righteously playing the "victim" when called out on it while you go out of your way to engage in victim-blaming and refusal to take responsibility for your own actions against User:LT by falsely blaming User:Conservative for "extending" the blocks which you yourself unjustly and falsely imposed against LT based on false claims by you of "incivility", "recidivism" and "violating the 90/10 rule" because you didn't like his criticism of your behavior) and acting vindictively and spitefully to unjustly block those who criticize that behavior is both an unjustified and abusive use of that power - but then, I've noticed you only go after those who stand up to you, yet don't have the means to protect or defend themselves against said abuses of power by you, so what does that say about you?  Also when you do that, all it does is prove the points of everyone here who has criticized what you have done to drive off other editors or otherwise force them to curtail their activity on this site (and in doing so, severely cutting down on editing/article creation activity on this site in the process).

−

−
:::::::::My further point regarding that (as I was going to say before getting unjustly and rudely blocked by you for the 22nd time) - it was the behavior you're engaging in now (the pointing out of which, no matter how much you want to pretend otherwise, is not "redundant" or "spamming") that got you desysopped twice in the past to rein you in, and you're treading a very thin line toward getting desysopped for a third time, because you're repeatedly proven that, like Anthony Fremont, you can't handle the power that you've been given and you use it to spitefully, vindictively and unjustly punish the critics of your out-of-control behavior and abuse of power (up to and including treating Conservapedia as if it were yours and yours alone, demonstrating an unwillingness by you to get along or work with others unless you get to have your way at others' and this site's expense) and to then cover up evidence of said behavior (and much as you think that criticism by others of said behavior is a "personal attack" against you [thus proving your willingness to play the "victim" when it suits you], it is not) - and that is what needs to end.

−
::::::::::Comment: You were not "rudely" blocked. I did not remove your "rude" comments from my castle page, as noted above - because I considered THAT to be rude, stifling discussion. RobSZelensky didn't kill himself 13:20, January 6, 2024 (EST)

−
:::::::::Simply put, you need to look in a mirror and realize that the only one here responsible for your behavior on this site is you, and only you.  Your repeated refusal to take responsibility for your own actions and your choice to victim-blame and project against your critics while playing the "victim" role only degrades your integrity, costs you respect and makes you look bad in the eyes of everyone else here (including visitors to this site), and ultimately, that will exact its toll on you.  If that dose of truth triggers you (as it would a liberal) and causes you to irrationally and emotionally lash out as you have (also a liberal trait), that - once again - is on you and you alone.

−

−
:::::::::And while I'm thinking about it, here's something you could do - instead of spending every single waking moment hovering over Conservapedia as you do and treating it as if it were your own personal playground and expecting everyone else here to do your bidding, do like the rest of us editors here do - go offline, go out and get some fresh air and experience the real world; you'll be doing yourself a huge favor.  Northwest (talk) 14:07, January 5, 2024 (EST)

:::::::::::So, yet again (as you just did with your 23rd unjust block of me), you go out of your way to prove my point and do exactly what I said about you regarding your behavior (including libelous attacks and making assumptions without proof while you further engage in incivility and projection [i.e. accusing me and others of "sowing division in the community and tearing it down" when that is exactly what you yourself are doing], as well - with said snarky and uncivil comments by you right before you blocked me - as resorting to "last wordism") - and incidentally, you yourself weren't there to do anything to stop what happened or remedy it and it took User:PeterKa, User:Conservative, User:DMorris and myself to fix the damage that got done.  In my case, I was asleep in bed (as most normal folks would be at that hour) when the vandal attack occurred - given how much time you spend on this site, what was your excuse?

−

−
:::::::::::In any event, you're only proving by acting and reacting as you have that you don't have the courage of your convictions or the moral high ground (and that you either lack awareness that what you're doing is wrong, or if you are aware, then you simply don't care and you consciously choose to continue doing wrong to the detriment of this site - just as a liberal would), and the more you continue doing what you're doing (the criticism of which, again, is not "trolling" and is not a "blockable offence", no matter how much you want to pretend the opposite) while refusing to take personal responsibility for what you do and say, the deeper a hole you're only digging yourself into and it won't end well for you.  Northwest (talk) 16:23, January 5, 2024 (EST)

While I do appreciate you telling me about The Duran YouTube channel and learned some things through that channel (Although I don't agree with everything they say) and sharing with me some other material, I have asked you a few times to no longer post material about international politics or other politics on my user talk page or in my internal Conservapedia mailbox.

−

−
With that being said, I have endeavored to have more peaceable relations between us. Unfortunately, you chose not to reciprocate as much as I had hoped you would, but I would encourage you to do so. Life is too short to engage in unnecessary squabbling.

−

−
Also, people go through various ebbs and flows in their life in terms of their interests. So I hope you can understand my right to focus more on vocation/faith/family and less on politics at the present time. I am learning some exciting things - some of which I will be able to use to promote various conservative/religious/philanthropic causes in the future.

RobSmith, you are certainly entitled to your political opinions. But don't pester people. It's counterproductive. I have changed a lot of people's opinions by being politely persistent (For a national company, I was known for having a high batting average when it came to changing people's minds through my polite persistence). By the way, looking back, speaking of learning about diplomacy/cordiality, I could have said in April 2020, "What causes you to believe that April 2020 will be a pivotal month that affects world politics for decades to come?". That might have been a conversation starter. Instead, I said something to the effect of: "I doubt that April 2020 will affect world politics for decades to come."  While I do believe that much of the die was cast before April 2020 and still have misgivings about your position on this matter, it's better to be diplomatic with people. At the same time, you were super undiplomatic on main page talk proceeding April 2020 and beforehand. It's too bad you have chosen your current path of incivility. If you had changed, maybe you would have handled your content dispute with LT better and he would still be an editor. Here is a third-party summary of the author's commentary on this matter:

−

−
:"The recognition order, as defined by philosopher Axel Honneth, confers respect and recognition on some people and not others. In our society, we confer significant recognition on those with wealth or prestigious affiliations, leaving millions feeling invisible and unrecognized. Politics, as a seductive form of social therapy for lonely people, offers a sense of belonging and moral action. However, politics does not provide community and connection, as it is fueled by resentment and a desire to validate one's side while shameing the other."

Hence the posting to my user talk page/CP mailbox, the small edits to your "April 2020" essay that I could care less about and do not read, and the posting to the talk pages of my essays that I could care less about and do not read. If you want a foe that you can joust with, go to an online forum on international politics, Twitter, etc where you can get your adrenaline rushes from conquering "the enemy". Also, narcissists seek endless attention and praise to compensate for their lack of confidence and acceptance, hence your various attempts to gain my attention.  Hopefully, you will outgrow this attention seeking behavior and not stay the same or get worse over time.  It's so simple to see through your attention seeking behavior and it's so predictable now. Schifrin:

−
Yea, this report is horrific. It concluded that there is clear and convincing information that sexual violence, including rape, sexualized torture, cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment has been commited againat hostages, and that echoes of course what Israel has been saying  happened by Hamas militants on Oct the 7th in Israel.

−
But the report also concludes this, that there are, quote, reasonable grounds to believe that such violence may be ongoing to those hostages in Gaza right now. Israel certainly believes that to be the case, and Israeli officials believe that that maybe one of the reasons why Hamas is resisting releasing some of the hostages.link.Telling (talk) 20:04, March 4, 2024 (EST)

According to Nuno Marqes-Nouri at Empire's Down, Jabotinsky's Revisionist-Fascist right wing of Zionism were collaborators of the Ukronazis who massacred thousands of Jews. And mutual Israel-Ukraine amicability is definitely true of the modern day. What about the post-WWII time period into the 2010s?

:::::In this sense, it's somewhat similar to "Palestinian" ethnicity. A Russian, Hungarian, Gypsy, German, Pole, Turk, Tater, Romanian, etc living in "Ukraine" are called by Western media "Ukrainian". Those few ethnic "Ukrainians" are Russians who were cut off from the main body of Great Russia for centuries. They are/were Eastern Orthodox, and did not assimilate into the Roman Catholic culture of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and Austro-Hungarian Empire where they lived. They developed their own dialect of Russian (called Ukrainian) over the centuries, and were discriminated against. They are the most "Westernized" of Russian people, although never fully assimilated into Western culture. Russia itself is multicultural - only about 75% of "Russians" are ethnic Russian - the rest are some 190 ethnic groups and tribes whose first language may be Russian. So when these "Ukrainians" returned to the main body of Russian civilization in the USSR, they did not re-assimilate. They brought with them their racist attitudes toward subhuman untermensch about people from Eurasia.

−

−
:::::Is the Russian system, developed over many centuries going back to Czarist times, cruel? Russia is known as "the land of jails". Perhaps. Alternatively, they've developed a civilization and culture where 192 officially recognized tribes and languages live together in a universal state without warring against each other. When an outside invader comes, Napolean, Hitler, NATO, etc. an attack against one is an attack against all.

−

−
:::::It's more of a racist attitude toward people from the East (you know, where 23% still use outhouses as User:Conservative has so assiduously documented), like Hitler and the Nazis had, than a political ideology like left/right, commie/nazi. The "Ukrainians", wherever they lived under - in the Polish Commonwealth, the Austrian Germans, the Soviet system, were always low-man-on-the-totem-pole. So they've adopted an attitude, kinda like the Irish toward the English.

−

−
:::::A word about Russia being "the land of jails". Some say, and it is commonly believed, the "gulag" system actually originated in China, and the Russians copied it. Short of war, that's how universal states get people to live together - ship the troublemakers off to prison camps. RobS[[User talk:RobSmith|The Truth. And there was also much guerilla partisan activity outside of German or Soviet uniform, essentially neighbor fighting neighbor.

:::::There are three Russias (that was Catherine the Great's title, "Czarina of the Russias"); Great Russia or Greater Russia (where ethnic Russians are 75% of the population but the Russian language is universal); the White Russians or Belarus (archaic: Belorussiya); and the Malorussians or Little Russians who lived in the borderlands (krai or u krai) with the Polish-Lithuanian, Austro-Hungarian, Ottoman, and later Prussian or German Empires.

−

−
:::::All three Russias are Russian Orthodox. After the Great Schism of 1054 the Orthodox Church remained a universal church, unlike in the West, which experienced another schism with the Protestant Reformation. For this reason Russian Orthodox (and probably most Orthodox Christians) regard Western Christendom, comprised of Roman Catholic and various Protestant sects, as breakaway cults. Even the Ukrainian Orthodox for centuries resisted attempts by the Roman Catholic and Turkish Muslim powers to stomp out their traditions and faith. :Yes, I'm aware: modern "far-right" antisemites co-opt criticism of Kabbalism to push hatred of Jews. This is entirely different from what people like Chaitkin and I have been saying, because we explicitly dissociate Kabbalism from Judaism and argue that it does not represent Jewish values, while racial antisemites' arguments rest on the premise of Kabbalism as representative of Jewry/Judaism. As to the "Judeo-Masonic" myth, I've addressed this elsewhere, and will summarize briefly: there were two factions of German Masonry a century ago: the traditionalist/ultraconservative "Old Prussians" who were reactionary, neo-Teutonic, and antisemitic; and the liberal-humanitarian/cosmopolitan faction. The Jesuits used liberal/radical Masonry since the French Revolution to overthrow the monarchies which expelled their Order, and afterwards used Nazi-Fascism to purge liberal-democratic influence in the very same European countries. In reality, Nazism—as the political incarnation of the Masonically inspired Thule Society—was completely aligned with the Old Prussian Masons, who were exempted by Hitler from persecution (Lelli P. Zamoisky's "Behind the Facade of the Masonic Temple" explains the details). So in essence, all you need to know is that Nazi/neo-Nazi co-opting of anti-Masonic rhetoric is highly disingenuous and shows their utter ignorance of history.

−
:David Icke's "problem-reaction-solution" (PRS) model needs to be taken into consideration here. The fact of the matter here, if we collate the narratives of Leo H. Lehmann's Behind the Dictators along with Walter Veith's Total Onslaught lecture series, is that the Jesuits created the "problem" of liberal Masonry that they then offered the false "solution" (Nazi-Fascism) to, and Nazi-Fascism's blaming of Masonry on "the Jews" is representative of the process in the "reaction" phase of PRS where the artificially concocted problem is scapegoated on an innocent party and exploited as a pretext to justify totalitarianism.

−
:Also, Telling, didn't I already explain this to you? Whenever neo-Nazis profess to be pro-Palestine, this is just useful "fuel to the fire" for Zionists to push the Arab-Nazi canard to justify a dehumanization campaign against Palestinians, so you need to consider this simple thought: if neo-Nazis genuinely are pro-Hamas and/or pro-Palestine, them openly saying it isn't in any way practically aiding that supposed goal, because it only makes the Palestinians look bad. IOWs, the notion of Nazi-Arab affinity couldn't be more helpful to the Zionist narrative. And who controls neo-Nazis? Well, if you read what Scott Thompson and Jeff Steinberg wrote at EIR decades ago, it should be obvious that the Anti-Defamation League of B'nai B'rith are the manipulators of neo-Nazi activities. If that was the case then, who's to say it isn't continuing to this day? As the old saying goes, "there is nothing new under the sun." On the very day of Oct. 7, the ADL managed to quickly compile a list of neo-Nazis supposedly supporting Hamas/Palestinians. Why did the ADL so quickly manage to document what random fringe neo-Nazis are saying? The obvious, intuitive answer is that ADL operatives are active in neo-Nazi circles as informants/agent provocateurs: by "influencing" gullible skinhead/brownshirted degenerate adherents into being "pro-Palestine," this dualistically helps prop up the "Arab-Nazi" canard from the other direction to boost the Zionist propaganda apparatus. Zionists comparing Palestinians to Nazis... neo-Nazis comparing themselves to Palestinians... it's the exact same propaganda line from two "opposite" directions. This is how Hegelianism works in real life, and it's important to recognize these attributes.

:As to my usage of the term "cabal," didn't I already emphasize the importance of distinguishing these pseudo–"Jewish advocacy groups" from the Jewish community en masse? Here's an analogical parallel example to illustrate my point: if an obnoxious identity-politics group, i.e. oh, I don't know, this bogus "Stop Asian Hate" movement, claims to represent all Chinese people, insinuates that the CCP represents the interests and views of the Chinese people, and says that criticism of CCP crimes is "Sinophobic," should I (of Chinese ethnicity, BTW), speak out? And what if I'm called a "self-hating Chinese person"? Am I not supposed to be morally outraged that an agent-provocateur front organization despicably claims to represent the interests of an entire group of people by race and that they must think as the organization dictates or else individuals are "self-hating"? Likewise with the B'nai B'rith/ADL/AJC apparatus among the Jewish community: it is a subversive effort from outside the Jewish community which uses pawns, operatives, and propagandists to manipulate the thinking patterns of the Jewish people. At the highest levels, the leadership of the Zionist movement loves nothing more than the outbreak of antisemitic incidents, because it fuels their propaganda apparatus about Jewish people "needing" to emigrate to Israel.

:::[EC] What am I trying to push? Well, Telling, to help answer your question since you're of great sincerity: I'm trying to demonstrate clearly that Zionism is not representative of the best interests of the Jewish people <s>just as how i.e. the Ku Klux Klan does not represent the interests of "white Americans."</s> (alright, "excessive" analogy on my part in the meantime; I don't have time to type as slowly as I used to) And I'm not railing against the ADL because they are (supposedly) fighting hate; I'm railing against them because they maliciously exploit horrific events/occurrences to deceptively push a twisted agenda that doesn't even do anything in practical terms and effect to lessen antisemitism and make Jews safer. They "co-opt" opposition to antisemitism to justify a political Zionist agenda in the name of Judaism/Jewry, which in turn only exacerbates antisemitism whenever the State of Israel commits morally questionable things. It's a self-feeding Hegelian whirlpool, and every antisemitic co-opting of anti-Zionist rhetoric indirectly pushes the exact same "Zionism represents the Jewish people" mantra the ADL/AJC apparatus propagates.

−
:::Historically and otherwise, the ADL's line on Leo Frank always condemned his lynching (and rightfully so) as an epitome of antisemitic hatred, but never spent the same effort to actually prove that he was innocent. Why? Because the existence of the ADL's operations necessitates antisemitism—according to EIR, Southern individuals a century ago who tried to prove the innocence of Leo Frank were stopped by members of the "Jewish" community. Now, why? Because the (false) notion of Frank being guilty was exactly what incited the mob lynching, which in turn became the pretext for creating the ADL. Even though the evidence shows that Leo Frank was innocent, it was more convenient for the B'nai B'rith/AJC apparatus to allow the presumption of guilt to continue so there would be the fomented antisemitic lynching of Frank which then would be exploited in sheer duplicity to create the ADL.

−
:::As to ADL vs. neo-Nazis, this once again illustrates along the lines of what I've been saying about Hegelian dialectic: the notion of "neo-Nazi opposition to the ADL" ostensibly only serves a pro-ADL narrative because it is used via association fallacy (case example) to slander legitimate critics of the ADL. I am very certain that in reality, modern neo-Nazis are entirely and secretly controlled from the top-down by ADL operatives. —<code><span style="background:#FF8181">LT</span></code> Rev. 22:13 Wednesday, 11:01, July 10, 2024 (EDT)

:::In Treason in America (1998), the (Jewish) historian Chaitkin notes that the particular faction of "abolitionists" led by William Lloyd Garrison were drivers of secessionism. How did this work? Well, the singular narrative/agenda of secession was simultaneously advocated by the slaveholder KGC white supremacists for obvious reasons, and simultaneously was pushed by Garrison along the lines of "the South should secede because the U.S. cannot tolerate slave states." See how this Hegelian scheme works? It's the same way with the seeming "Zionism vs. neo-Nazism" feud, where both sides simultaneously push the same notion of "Arab-Nazi" affinity from two opposite directions. Just as Garrison co-opted anti-slavery rhetoric to push secessionism, similarly does the ADL co-opt opposition to antisemitism. —<code><span style="background:#FF8181">LT</span></code> Rev. 22:13 Wednesday, 11:09, July 10, 2024 (EDT)

::::Telling, I've noticed that your anger towards my assessment of history—which has explicitly condemned antisemitism this whole time and distinguished Judaism from the individuals/groups I'm designating as Nazistic cabal members—has been much sharper than your response to Nishant's (previous) actual antisemitism. And I know why: NishantXavier's fusion of antisemitism and co-opting of anti-Zionism perfectly feeds your worldview of "anti-Zionism being antisemitism" in a Hegelian dualistic sense, while my assessment directly contradicts that narrative. If you think I'm the adversary here, you're mistaken: RobSmith, NishantXavier, Conservative, and Aschlafly are two-faced and will throw you personally under the bus once the double-edged sword severs every last pretense of "conservative unity." As the warring progresses, RobSmith will inevitably become more explicitly pro–"Axis of Resistance" and anti-American/anti-Israel in an ugly direction; Andy is a Marcionite; Ken threw you under the bus and used the Zionist bonafide card to mask his antisemitic sympathies; NishantXavier's views haven't changed. By contrast, I consistently defended you in disputes, as you may recall; if you now prefer to side with those guys against me, it's your decision to move ahead with, but I'm cautiously advising you, Telling: don't be surprised if they throw you under the bus. I've known them longer than you have. —<code><span style="background:#FF8181">LT</span></code> Rev. 22:13 Thursday, 10:44, July 18, 2024 (EDT)

−
::::One more thing I will get out of the way now rather than later: your tendency of changing talk page subheadings for censorship purposes doesn't improve tensions. Back when NishantXavier inserted antisemitic ramblings on TMP, I excused your sanitizing of his headlines because of their virulent nature, especially since it was on the most-viewed talk page in this wiki. However, to unilaterally interfere with another user's talk page is a completely separate matter; it borders into RW-esque behavior. I can say with great certainty that one of the unfortunate reasons for antisemitic attitudes is because people view "Jewish organizations" like the ADL (which purports itself to represent the American Jewish community en masse) as an enemy of free speech. As someone myself who does not wish the Jewish community inflict itself with wounds all over, the point is this: it doesn't help your own cause when you try to censor, because censorship always backfires. I didn't war over the headline in Geopolitician's talk page any further afterwards because I didn't want to pour additional gasoline on the argumentative flames. —<code><span style="background:#FF8181">LT</span></code> Rev. 22:13 Thursday, 10:56, July 18, 2024 (EDT)

:::What emotions have <u>motivated</u> LaRouche to invent so strangely the label kabaIistic-word on someone? <b>LT knows "control" isn't always military (the mufti has revived the DESERTED al aqsa in the 1920s to use it as a weapon).  And it's not about the entire Arab world per se but about the Arab Nazi leadership in that strip of land which have forced the Anglos to control Jewish immigration at their dire need... All the while anti anglo Zionists saved 60.000. Even after the Anglo-Mason/etc. chased out the Mufti in 1937, Arab media kept glorifying him while he and other expelled pro Hitler palestinians instigated Iraqis to carry out the pogrom right after their failed pro Nazi coup by Rachid Ali. And since Sep 1939 the Anglo's had to censor Arab media... still the 1941 poll showed 88% pro Hitler</b>. Sure the "anglo/mason/cabaIistic" tied Jamal Husseini and forced (says LT?) him in 1933 to order 10 Mein Kampfs and 5 Protocols books from Paris. These are the same that "ordered" the Mufti to approach German Consul within 2 months of Hitler's rise to pledge allegiance against all Democracies. Random fact of hundreds: Why did Arab local press glorify those SS hanged in 1946? Or which "masons" forced/duped/ the masses (not just Muslim Brotherhood al-Bana - another Hitler lover) to cheer for Hitler's-Mufti <u>after</u> the Holocaust in 1946 and/or to have a general consensus backed (though he was barred by the Anglos to return)?

In 1938, the French journal Marianne reported that Arabs in Palestine were enthusiastically pro-Nazi: “At Nablus, the Arab population [gives] shouts of ‘Heil Hitler’.… the Arab journals Falastin & Al Difa’a … reproduce large portraits of various leaders of the Third Reich.</i>

−

−
But the following is from noticeable and respected Benny Morris who never minces words from criticising Israel and even some of what Zionists did. So he is no "right winger":

−
The Atlantic, 14 May 2019:

−
<i>

−
Rashida Tlaib Has Her History Wrong

−
The representative’s account of the Arab-Israeli conflict relies on origin myths about the birth of Israel.

−

−
...the historical reality was quite different from what Tlaib described: The Palestinians indirectly, and in some ways directly, aided in the destruction of European Jewry.

−

−
After Hitler’s accession to power in Germany in 1933, German and then Eastern European Jews sought escape and safe havens. But all the Western countries, including the United States and Britain and its dominions, closed their doors to significant Jewish immigration. Palestine emerged as the only potential safe haven. In 1932, the British allowed 9,500 Jews to immigrate to Palestine. In 1933, the number shot up to 30,000, and in 1935, it peaked at 62,000.

−

−
But from 1933 onward, Palestine’s Arabs—led by the cleric Muhammad Haj Amin al Husseini, the grand mufti of Jerusalem—mounted a strident campaign to pressure the British, who governed Palestine, to bar all Jews from entering the country. To press home their demand, in 1936 they launched an anti-British and anti-Zionist rebellion that lasted three years. Apart from throwing out the British, the rebellion’s aim was to coerce London into halting all Jewish entry into Palestine.

−

−
Moreover, the anti-Jewish violence, which claimed hundreds of Jewish lives and wounded many more, itself served to deter would-be emigrants from seeking to move to Palestine. British entry certificates for Jews to Palestine declined to 30,000 in 1936, 10,000 in 1937, and 15,000 in 1938. Those who couldn’t get in were left stranded in Germany, Poland, Hungary, and elsewhere. Almost all died in the Holocaust, which the Germans unleashed in 1941.

−

−
But the Palestinians’ contribution to the Holocaust was also more direct. Husseini, having fled Palestine during the revolt, helped pro-Nazi generals launch an anti-British rebellion in Iraq in 1941 (which itself engendered a large-scale pogrom against Baghdad’s Jews, the Farhoud). When that rebellion failed, he fled to Berlin, where he was given a villa and a generous monthly salary, and lived in comfort until the end of the world war. During the war, he helped recruit Muslims from the Balkans for the German Army and the SS, and in radio broadcasts, exhorted Middle Eastern and North African Arabs to launch jihad against the British and “kill the Jews.” (texts of Husseini’s broadcasts..)

−

−
Subsequently, Husseini fled Germany and, with the Allies reluctant to trigger Arab anger by trying him for collaboration, settled down in Cairo. In 1947, he rejected the UN partition plan to settle the Palestine conflict and helped launch the first Palestinian and pan-Arab war against the Zionist enterprise. He spent his last years in Lebanon, embittered by the loss of Palestine and the pan-Arab failure to effectively support the Palestinians, and published a series of anti-Semitic articles before his death in 1974.

−

−
The most prominent Palestinian American intellectual, Edward Said, toward the end of his life enjoined the Palestinians to study the Holocaust and empathize with what had happened to the Jews, if only in order to properly understand the deep-seated fears and aspirations of the Israelis.</i>
