The United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit presides over Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. It handles appeals from federal district courts in those states.
The Seventh Circuit has several prolific judges who are former professors at the University of Chicago, where they embraced a free market economic philosophy.
