Charles Curtis (1860 - 1936) was Vice President under Herbert Hoover from 1929 to 1933. He served in both houses of Congress, as a Representative from Kansas (1893-1907) and as that state's Senator from (1907-1913) and again from (1915-1929), when he was sworn in as Vice President. He served as Republican Majority Leader in the Senate from (1925-1929). What is interesting to note is that he opposed Herbert Hoover but became his running mate in the 1928 election. [1]
