The Green Bay Packers are a National Football League (NFL) franchise based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. They are part of the National Football Conference (NFC) and play in the NFC North Division. They were the first team to win the Super Bowl, defeating the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl I. They also won Super Bowl II, defeating the Oakland Raiders. The Green Bay Packers have more World Championships than any other franchise in NFL history, but not the most Super Bowl victories.
The team plays its home games at Lambeau Field, named after team founder Curly Lambeau. They are the only publicly owned professional sports team in America, with over 112,000 shareholders.
The Packers' most recent championship came in Super Bowl XLV, on February 26,2011. They defeated the Steelers 31-25, and Packers QB Aaron Rodgers was named Super Bowl MVP.
