Now that Donald Trump has all but wrapped up the Republican nomination for 2024, it is high time to discuss who he should pick as his running mate.
On January 24, ElectionBettingOdds.com began listing potential running mates and the odds of Trump picking them. Their initial list (dated January 24) is as follows:
Major candidates (9% chance or higher)
- Ben Carson, former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development
- Kristi Noem, Governor of South Dakota
- Vivek Ramaswamy, entrepreneur
- Tim Scott, Senator from South Carolina
- Elise Stefanik, Representative from New York's 21st District
Minor candidates (2% to 8.9% chance)
- Ron DeSantis, Governor of Florida
- Byron Donalds, Representative from Florida's 19th District
- Nikki Haley, former Ambassador to the United Nations
- Kari Lake, former television news anchor
"Dark Horse" candidates (less than 2% chance)
- Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., environmental attorney and activist
