The Democracy Integrity Project was founded in Washington DC by former Senate Intelligence Committee (SSCI) staffer Daniel J. Jones in late January 2017, days after President Donald Trump's inauguration. Jones and the Democracy Integrity Project hired opposition research firm Fusion GPS and Christopher Steele, author of the Steele dossier, to continue anti-Trump research and fake news leaks to mainstream media. George Soros contributed at least $1 million to the group.[1]
