Ward Hunt (June 14, 1810 – March 24, 1886) was an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. Hunt suffered a stroke in 1879, but stayed on the Court in order to reach the minimum years required for pension. Congress passed a special exemption, giving Hunt pension if he agreed to resign within 30 days; he resigned the day the bill was signed into law.[1]
