Sanctions against Germany & Japan only led to (or delayed) war. Same as Iraq. Sanctions against Russia, China, North Korea, and Iran remain to be seen.

Basically, politicians issue sanctions when they lack the political support from the public for all out war.

As a johnny-come-lately to this argument, is LT trying to make the contention that Zionists in the 1930s were ideological kin of the Nazis? To put it politely, a researcher needs to understand what we mean by historical reasoning. Ben Gurion, and others, were acting under threats and coercion in the best interests of their people. Some might call that "collaboration" or "collusion", under duress however, hoping to avoid all-out war and the eventual outcome that occurred in the 1940s. It wasn't voluntary "cooperation".
