Welcome!
Hello, Bohdan, and welcome to Conservapedia!
We're glad you are here to edit. We ask that you read our Editor's Guide before you edit.
At the right are some useful links for you. You can include these links on your user page by putting "{{Useful links}}" on the page. Any questions--ask!
Thanks for reading, Bohdan!
Please sign you talk comments by typing "--~ ~ ~ ~" after your post (without the quote marks or spaces). It is a pain to have to go to the history every time I want to see who typed something.--Elamdri 18:45, 30 March 2007 (EDT)

Sherlock Holmes
Thank you Bohdan for correcting my Sherlock Holmes edit. It's rather late over here in Blighty and my sanity is probably best recharged with sleep ; )
Hehehe, sorry. My bad. Blighty is an affectionate word for England. And yes, it's 4:07 am over here. Thankfully my wife is used to my insomnia ; )
Dedication or maybe too much coffee ; ) And yes, I'd like to see two plaques - one for Sherlock Holmes and one for Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. A great detective and a great writer...

You should mention it to a sysop before going and blanking someone's user page. Although I do agree with you that it was detrimental to Conservapedia, I believe you could have gone about it a bit smarter. You could have tried mention on a sysop's talk page or put it under current alerts. --AdrianP 02:54, 29 April 2007 (EDT)
- The page was signed by Icewedg. He's a bit of a troublemaker 'round these parts. We just remove his junk when we see it. --Sulgran 02:59, 29 April 2007 (EDT)
- I understand why you removed what he posted. I just don't understand why you would go about blanking a page prior to getting a sysop's approval. --AdrianP 03:04, 29 April 2007 (EDT)
- Well we've never had to get admin approval for removing Icewedgisms before so why start? --Sulgran 03:07, 29 April 2007 (EDT)

- Forgive me for butting in (here), but if something says "Copyright ©, All rights reserved." There are very few legal reasons why you can ever copy it. So best not to. Keep in mind that this site is a dot com, owned by a lawyer, and promotes some of his business interests. At the very least, get Andy's opinion, based on the true source and the use here. Neanderthals
Thanks for the note. It is an established scientific fact that brain size does not necessarily affect intelligence; elephants have brains the size of a beach ball, with a similar structure. In the same species, however, brain size might affect intelligence, as evidenced here. However, considering the fact that evidence suggests a genetic difference large enough to merit seperate binomial classification, that argument is somewhat invalid. It has also been shown that the brain size of humans has increased over the past tens of thousands of years (or, in your case, 6,000 years), as shown here. The fact that neanderthals had brains which were significantly larger than modern humans (also a well-known fact which creationists agree upon, but if you're not convinced, it ain't too hard to dig up) would suggest intellectual superiority, if they were indeed a subgenus of Homo sapiens. However, they died out some time ago. Hope that helps, --Hojimachongtalk 17:51, 15 May 2007 (EDT)

I expect lots of trouble with the user boxes, and templates. Please keep an eye out! --Sysop-TK /MyTalk 14:52, 16 May 2007 (EDT)
- I have previously indicated this, but I think pro-actively locking very popular user boxes (and templates) would be prudent, and not an undue burdern. HeartOfGold 14:54, 16 May 2007 (EDT)
- Why not just lock them all? (the user boxes) --Tim (CPAdmin1)talk 14:56, 16 May 2007 (EDT)
- Because there's already a problem with to many temps being locked. Using semi-protection, let me repeat that, semi-protection, would be fine. --Binary42 20:32, 16 May 2007 (EDT)
- I'll leave that to the discression of those with power. But user boxes that are only used in one or two places are not as great of a risk. Either way would be fine, but locking all might create a greater burden on the sysops if they are edited frequently for legitimate reasons. HeartOfGold 15:31, 16 May 2007 (EDT)
- PhilipR has expressed some reservations about doing that. Perhaps you can convince him otherwise....--Sysop-TK /MyTalk 15:49, 16 May 2007 (EDT)

Definitions
- In Wiki terminology, a "sock" (short for "sockpuppet") is an account which has been created by a banned user, for the intention of circumventing the block. If there was a real person named "John" who had an account called "Bob", and the account "Bob" was blocked, and John created a new account called "Joe", then "Joe" would be a sockpuppet.
- A "Troll" is a general term for anybody who comes somewhere solely for the purposes of being rude, obnoxious, or disruptive.

I do not mind any Sysop editing my page at any time, so long as notice is given here (or via IM, which most of us use to reach one another) so I am aware there was a problem. What you have read here before were users claiming there was a problem, creating a sensation, and yet later we found they never actually "fixed" anything, so you can see now what their true motives were, eh? --Sysop-TK /MyTalk 01:39, 19 May 2007 (EDT)

I may need you to come and give input on the atheism article if you don't mind. While I would not want to see atheism slammed, there seem to be difficulties that are starting to approach a wikipedia view more than a conservapedia view. I don't wish to intercede in any area which I have not yet earned, and yet if I have given contributions at a level where you feel this is warranted, then I would be pleased to be brought up for the honor. I'll knock this off TK too and see what he thinks. If you both agree, then I know I'm in pretty good hands. Thanks ;-) Learn together 23:36, 28 May 2007 (EDT)

Re: Your Comment.
I don't care if he was a liberal or not. I'm certainly no liberal - I'm far more radical in my outlook than any self-professed liberal would claim to be I don't think we should change the system, I think we should tear it down. I call them as I see them; if someone writes that poorly in an encyclopedia with claims of being "trustworthy," I'll take it out. Sevenstring 19:20, 28 May 2007 (EDT)
RE: Give it up buddy
Why should I, "buddy?" On the one hand, we have a person who has cogently argued his point. On the other, we have a person who lacks the wherewithall to make an argument, and resorts to changing the subject when he is losing. If thisngs look too bad, hebans people for disagreeing with him

Are You A Liberal? Meh, No?
Hi Bohdan,
The trick with questions like this is that some people think it's absolute ("if you believe X Y Z, you are liberal / conservative") while others think it is relative ("you are to the left / right of me on X Y Z, you are liberal / conservative"). This is complicated by the fact that X, Y, and Z are different issues for different people. The most obvious example on Conservapedia seems to be Evolution vs. Creationism. The site leader has made it clear that he equates beliefs in Evolution with other things, like school prayer. Someone like me, who thinks that the evidence of Evolution is strong, but still supports prayer in school, doesn't register (typically he calls someone like this a liberal liar pretending to be a conservative to sneak into debates). In any event, getting a simple answer to your question from ONE person may be easy, but the answer will change depending on who you ask. For pete's sake, TK is willing to say that the font you use in your sig is indicative of liberalism (no, TK, you didn't say it proved anything, but it's 0% relevant and only stood to score a point).
In the end, you have to define what you are for yourself, in my opinion, or at least be defined by the community you actually live in, rather than communities you only visit such as this one.
Of course, this also begs the question "what difference does it make?" The actual important issue is where you stand on any given issue (again in my opinion), not what label gets slapped on you based on your sum of beliefs. Radicals on both sides of the aisle try to turn the common name for the other side into an insult. Ignore that, and I think you'll quickly find that your label doesn't matter to you. :) Regards, Aziraphale 14:40, 30 May 2007 (EDT)
- Sorry about the X Y Z confusion, but when you related them to math you were exactly right: they're variables, meaning they can change. The point being, for you the most important issues to define someone are abortion, evolution, and school prayer, while for me they might be economic policy, foreign policy, and abortion. So when the site leader, for example, calls someone a liberal you have to know not only which issues matter, but what the liberal and conservative stances are on those issues. His definitions of those are different from mine, and mine may be different from yours, and yours may be different from . . . you get the idea.
- AAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnyway... long story short: asking somebody else if you're a liberal or conservative, when you've answered the question for yourself already, is an easy way to get yourself confused - which I only mention because you've said a couple times now that you've been confused by people's answers. Just don't ask. ;) Regards, Aziraphale 14:59, 30 May 2007 (EDT)
- This is making my head spin. So, what am I? Conservative/Conservative, Liberal/Conservative? --Sysop-TK /MyTalk 20:37, 30 May 2007 (EDT)

I believe Andy should resolve the TK/Conservative issue and I also think that TK was rude to my guest LostCaesar (who everyone agrees is a valuable editor) and lately has been rude to me. If I thought the issue could be resolved privately I would have done it. I don't think this is the case, however. The blocking of tomstpete was the straw that broke the camel's back. Chomsky
About the "Protocols..." these have been known as a hoax almost as soon as their publishication in English in the early 20th century. They cannot be considered "classic anti-Semitism", they are more conspiracy theory (similar to "holy blood holy grail" I think). Basically I think giving the "protocols" credence by linking them with a serious problem such as anti-semitism denigrates the accuracy of the article. If you want to compare Chomsky's sayings/theories with those of the "protocols" then refer to them as a hoax - it's just more correct. In my opinion. And complaining to Bohdan, a person who knows what it means to really be attacked, coming from where he did, is really, really silly! :P --Sysop-TK /MyTalk 02:35, 18 July 2007 (EDT)
- I really found the post quite humorous myself. I assumed it was a joke/90-10 warning, not an attack. Its important to remember that warnings such as that are for the editors own good, seeing as they might not be familiar with commandment 7. Bohdan 02:57, 18 July 2007 (EDT)
request
I want to put a few more pictures in the evolution article. Do you know how to do that? I want to put a picture of Ernst Haeckel in this section: http://www.conservapedia.com/Evolution#Evolutionary_theory_and_Cases_of_Fraud.2C_Hoaxes_and_Speculation.E2.80.8E I also want to put a picture of Stephen Gould in this section: http://www.conservapedia.com/Evolution#Theory_of_Punctuated_Equilibrium Please don't use the picture of Stephen Gould used at Wikipedia. Can you help? Conservative 15:11, 18 July 2007 (EDT)conservative
Regarding which pictures
I don't know anything about how to copy pictures. Could you go to http://www.google.com and put in "Ernst Haeckel" and pictures. You could do the same with Stephen Jay Gould. Hoji hates the evolution article so I don't want to ask him. Conservative 15:16, 18 July 2007 (EDT)
The Haeckel pic is great. Please keep up your excellent work.

Richard Goldschmidt and pic
Dear Bohdan,
I want to put a picture of Richard Goldschmidt who died in 1958 and put it on the right side of this section below Gould: http://www.conservapedia.com/Theory_of_evolution#Theory_of_Punctuated_Equilibrium
Here is a pic of Richard Goldschmidt: http://www.stephenjaygould.org/people/richard_goldschmidt.html

I would appreciate your help in loading another Darwin Picture. Can you load one onto Conservapedia for me to use? Conservative 16:35, 18 July 2007 (EDT)
Use an older picture of darwin
Can you use an older black and white picture of Darwin (I mean a picture where Darwin is old)? Here are some: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=darwin+and+picture&btnG=Google+Search

- Bohdan, I suggest that Andy has already labeled the intent of this user, and is a known Liberal, so accommodating him most likely isn't something we want to be doing, not without detailed discussion. --Sysop-TK /MyTalk 19:56, 18 July 2007 (EDT)
Blocking
About 17 minutes ago you blocked a user for vandalism. I would have blocked him for his name! Doesn't matter, he got blocked anyway. Philip J. Rayment 21:26, 20 July 2007 (EDT)
- was it beelzebub? Bohdan 21:49, 20 July 2007 (EDT)

Just wanted to say thanks for saying that about people not getting blocked for their views...I read that on Independant's page, and just got really annoyed, but decided it was worthless to say anything and get into an argument :) But I'm glad you did...I'll back you up if they comment back rudely! DeborahB. 19:00, 22 July 2007 (EDT)
- I couldn't take it either. People don't get blocked for their views! Bohdan
- Yea...and what they said about TK blocking that one user for not responding...they have to understand that 1.) it never hurt anyone to be blocked for 30 minutes when they 're not doing anything except probably getting into stupid arguments, and 2.) you have to know TK and you'll understand the block better :) DeborahB. 19:04, 22 July 2007 (EDT)

Here is a letter I wrote someone:
Dear Stirlatez,
I will send a letter to Bohdan to unblock you. However, I don't agree that asexual reproduction should bring in the subject of morality as I don't think the life forms that practice it have any moral awareness.
Sincerely,
Conservative

Hello Conservative, I am writing you in regards to the fact that my account on Conservapedia has been blocked by user Bohdan! I write this from my work computer, IP 150.135.169.11 and my block ID is #11831. I have been blocked by Bohdan for 'vandalism', in reference to an edit I made on the article for 'asexual reproduction' in which I rewrote the short article to include the concept that asexuality is one of the moral forms of sexuality (in contrast to homosexuality, pansexuality, pedophilia, etc.) because it naturally occurs and for many life forms is required for repopulation.
Conservative 13:01, 26 July 2007 (EDT) Hello my friend. About the football situation at Tottenham Hotspur F.C and other articles like it, it links to American football, and mixing "soccer" under the category of "football" would not be a good thing. We try to keep from being confusing.
That being said, it strongly appears that the user in question who wrote all of these things is a phony. He created a Madonna entry describing multiple types of s*x right after creating a Brigham Young University entry describing it as a Christian university. He has created a few different articles that already exist under different names, and now, of course, he puts in "football" teams knowing he's pointing to US football. He knows our hot buttons and the ways to cause difficulty -- and he's trying to hit every single one... Peace to you my friend Learn together 02:10, 31 July 2007 (EDT)

Welcome Template
I just thought it looked cheesey. I assumed it was some sort of mechanical formality and not your heartfelt greeting. I meant no offense by removing it and certianly didn't think to leave any sort of "impression". If you get points for it or something you can replace it and it can stay there till the end times. Blessed be. Bafi 08:29, 5 August 2007 (EDT)
- No offense intended. I've restored the welcome template. Bafi 13:26, 5 August 2007 (EDT)

Wiki Dates
- Bohdan, Andy has specifically rejected for CP wikification of months. We do not want "that was the year that was" types of articles. It creates hundreds of wanted pages. Sorry if you missed that decision. --şŷŝôρ-₮KṢρёаќǃ 16:25, 14 August 2007 (EDT)
- Not even the months? I never link the actual dates, but I have been putting in the months. Bohdan 16:26, 14 August 2007 (EDT)
- Nothing! And what you reverted, was the entire date. Where did you get the idea for months, and why? Oh, I sent you another email..if you dont get it, email me another email to use for you! QuaeCumItaSint---lucky guess, or what? He isn't a Lawyer, just a wannabe one...still in school. ;-) Like McCarthy said, "I have a list" and I am about to take out a very blunt knife, just so he knows. ;-) --şŷŝôρ-₮KṢρёаќǃ 16:41, 14 August 2007 (EDT)
- I thought I only added the months. Sometimes adding the months is just a way to add links to deadend pages. And this email I recieved. Bohdan 16:45, 14 August 2007 (EDT)
- The reason we went against wiki dates is all the pages it creates. Then Andy decided he didn't want a bunch of articles like on WP, about every month, year, and what happened in them. Too much to edit down. Perhaps you would accept my begging and respond to that email, and we could talk some Latin? --şŷŝôρ-₮KṢρёаќǃ 17:05, 14 August 2007 (EDT)
LOTR
Thanks for this rollback. Legolas was polite to the point of being "submissive", but I'd hardly call him feminine. And the "love" between Sam and Frodo was no more than the fraternal closeness of comrades in arms. --Ed Poor Talk 23:55, 14 August 2007 (EDT)
