DNC resolution against "white religious nationalism"

First off, it's obvious that it's in reference to the political ideology often known as "Christian nationalism." Now, it is of great important to evaluate what the concept even is before assuming that just because the Dems state something, it must be terrible. If CNN recommended drinking plenty of water and eating more vegetables instead of deep-fried corn dogs, would any reasonable person consider that "fake news" just because it was CNN who said it?

The concept of "Christian nationalism" is an utter heresy antithetical to Judeo-Christian principles. "Christian nationalists" believe that patriotism towards one's nation and anti-government activism is serving the Lord, a notion which the New Testament clearly does not substantiate as moral. In Jesus's day and afterward, nationalism was high among Jews who resented Roman tyranny, but Christ did not focus on the oppression committed by the Roman Empire, but rather on the immoral hypocrisies of the Pharisees who exploited the Jewish populace. When a group of Pharisees sought to confound Jesus by questioning about taxes, He responded:

Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.

—Jesus (Mark 12:17)

The Apostle Paul, which Conservapedia considers as an ideological forefather of conservative principles, said in Romans 13:1:

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.

—ESV

Paul also said in the Second Epistle to the Thessalonians:

Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.

—2 Thessalonians 2:3–4

Why did so many Jews reject Jesus as the Messiah? Because they, consumed in worldliness, thought that He would establish a worldly kingdom on behalf of Jewish Zionist nationalists and overthrow Roman tyranny. And take note: this very type of ultranationalistic sentiment, viewing patriotism towards one's nation as serving God, is at the core of "Christian nationalism"! So it's clear: "Christian nationalism" is a heresy.

So, how should one view the DNC resolution? Well, in complete honesty, this is a rare instance where they're right. However, one day, the entire world, except for the remnant church of Seventh-day Adventists and Messianic Jews, will join "Christian nationalists" calling for a worldwide Sunday law. This includes Catholics, apostate Protestants, environmentalists, atheists, economists, Republicans, Democrats, Independents, postliberals, antisemites, etc.

In this presentation, Pastor Doug Batchelor responds to a diatribe by "Christian nationalist" heretic and lunatic Greg Locke, who screeched in a rant against Sabbath-keepers, "there will come a day, it doesn't matter when, and it doesn't matter where, but it matters who!! You... will... worship!!!" Satan must have spoken through Locke, because the beast system, according to the Book of Revelation, will compel humanity to engage in false worship and receive its mark. SDA YouTube channel Bible Flock Box has similarly mentioned the link between "Christian nationalism" and the Antichrist.

Conclusion? Don't take seriously anyone who has any affiliation with "Christian nationalism." All these "right-wing populists" like Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, Paul Gosar, Doug Mastriano, Michael Flynn, etc. are tools of the devil, the father of lies, to pave the way for the beast system which will persecute true Christians. In the contemporary spiritual warfare, there's the false dilemma presented that one must either affiliate with theocratic heretics on the "right" or neo-Marxist hedonistic anarchists on the left. Christians must reject both, which isn't that hard. —LT (Matthew 26:52) Friday, 19:34, February 9, 2023 (EST)

Doug Batchelor is a guy you can admire for his "churchiness". Even had me fooled for a couple of weeks in the 1990s until I realized he was preaching Seven Day Adventism (actually, I knew nothing about 7 Day Adventism until I listened to Batchelor and saw the bait and switch - "churchiness' in exchange for a gospel of works, denying grace).
Where does it say Jesus is our Sabbath? "when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down..." et seqq. (I can't emphasize enough how much you need to emphasize those two words, "sat down", i.e. rested. It is finished.
One more point about Batchelor's criticism, "it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe" which Batchelor calls anger and rage. RobSGive Peace a chance 01:33, March 7, 2023 (EST)
So, in complete honesty, this one instance where you're wrong. The DNC resolution does not condemn "Christian nationalism". It condemns "religious nationalism" (more specifically, "white religious nationalism"; it says nothing about "black religious nationalism" or "Jewish religious nationalism" or "black transgender religious nationalism", assuming "white transgender religious nationalism" is covered by the ban on "white religious nationalism" unless a "white transgender religious nationalist" identifies as a "black transgender religious nationalist". So where you get all the rest of this stuff from, I haven't a clue.) RobSGive Peace a chance 01:20, February 10, 2023 (EST)
Final thought: Why do Christians worship on Sunday rather than the Sabbath? The same reason they violate the commandment at Deut. 8:10:
When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the LORD thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.
My question is, Why don't Seven Day Adventists pray after they eat rather than before? The answer, I suspect you will find, is the same reason most Christian denominations worship on Sunday, and not Saturday. RobSGive Peace a chance 20:51, March 8, 2023 (EST)
verse 7 of 2 Thes 2: the mystery of lawlessness is already at work
What does that mean? RobSGive Peace a chance 19:48, February 9, 2023 (EST)
It's in reference to rebellion. The Apostle Paul in 2 Thesslalonians 2 is clearly referencing populist, anti-government activism embodied most evidently by the 2020 left-wing insurrection and the 2021 U.S. Capitol insurrection. What is the restrainer Apostle Paul refers to? Probably government. When Jewish nationalists resisted the Roman Empire in the Jewish–Roman Wars, the first of which was started by Judas of Galilee (moral of the story: naming one's son Judas is a bad idea), God wasn't on their side, and Judea was obliterated. —LT (Matthew 26:52) Friday, 19:54, February 9, 2023 (EST)
he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.
know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost
You speak as if 2 Thes 2 is some future event, whereas it is speaking directly to you, now. RobSGive Peace a chance 20:00, February 9, 2023 (EST)
Well yeah, the Antichrist beast system will be established as a result of current chaos unfolding now. —LT (Matthew 26:52) Friday, 20:02, February 9, 2023 (EST)
Would you agree that rebellion against God is rejection of the word of God? (or 'Word of God', take your pick, it doesn't matter) RobSGive Peace a chance 20:07, February 9, 2023 (EST)
Yep, just as I could've expected, you will persistently attempt to derail this discussion into a cascade of semantics bickering disguised as interpreting the meaning of Scripture. —LT (Matthew 26:52) Friday, 20:11, February 9, 2023 (EST)

And that's a message you hypocritically cite. "Judge not, that you be not judged."LT (Matthew 26:52) Friday, 20:16, February 9, 2023 (EST)
he who letteth will let
What does that mean? RobSGive Peace a chance 20:20, February 9, 2023 (EST)
I guess your own understanding of the Bible isn't very strong, hence why you feel the need to ask me... and despite this, you often talk as if you know more about Scripture than I do. So which is it? —LT (Matthew 26:52) Friday, 20:23, February 9, 2023 (EST)
Is not Aaron thy brother?
I am going to expand on this. Exodus 4 says,
10 And Moses said unto the Lord, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.....13 And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send. 14 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well.
Exodus 33 says,
12 And Moses said unto the Lord, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.
Now, before you get off into this Paul Gosar is the anti-Christ and whatever other crazy stuff you post here, explain to me the significance of these two passages and their relationship to the New Testament. Was Aaron the second messenger God sent before the people? and if not, who was? And how do we know? RobSGive Peace a chance 22:15, February 10, 2023 (EST)
And how are these passages important in understanding New Testament grace (versus law)? RobSGive Peace a chance 22:17, February 10, 2023 (EST)
Ok, let's get back on track before you derailed this simple conversation:
Will you agree that rebellion against God is rejection of the Word (or word) of God? RobSGive Peace a chance 20:26, February 9, 2023 (EST)
You derailed this conversation, and now accuse me of having supposedly "derailed" your irrelevant drift. The irony! You never once in this discussion directly addressed the subject matter at hand about "Christian nationalism." —LT (Matthew 26:52) Friday, 20:30, February 9, 2023 (EST)
Is rebellion against God rejection of God's word? Yes or no? RobSGive Peace a chance 20:33, February 9, 2023 (EST)
[EC] [EC] You know very well, just as I do, that you're not posing such questions in good faith, but rather for the purpose of senseless antagonisms. —LT (Matthew 26:52) Friday, 20:37, February 9, 2023 (EST)
Strike two. Is rebellion against God rejection of God's word? <get's ready to shake the dust from my feet> RobSGive Peace a chance 20:40, February 9, 2023 (EST)
Your "strikes" are as weightless as your shadow. —LT (Matthew 26:52) Friday, 20:41, February 9, 2023 (EST)
I'll pray for you that you are delivered from Satan's snare. RobSGive Peace a chance 20:44, February 9, 2023 (EST)
Nice gaslighting attempt, but I'm not so easily convinced that comsymps, Putin defenders, white supremacist shills, liars, deceivers, vandal defenders, hypocrites, charlatans, concern trolls, and ad hoc propagandists (wow, what a coincidence, these so happen to be applicable in describing your record) have proper discernment to determine who is and isn't snared by Satan. You don't fool me anymore, RobSmith. —LT (Matthew 26:52) Friday, 20:51, February 9, 2023 (EST)
"I thank thee, Lord, that I am not like others who worship on Sunday" - once you realize that is rejection of the word of God, God might have a use for you. RobSGive Peace a chance 21:38, February 9, 2023 (EST)
Back to 2 Thes 2. This verse:
that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed
I am going to rewrite it so LT can understand it:
that day will not come, unless LT's rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed
Now I'm going to ask a simple question one more time: Is rebellion rejection of God's word? or you can flip it: Is rejection of God's word rebellion? This should not be too hard to answer. Adam and Eve found out when they rebelled and rejected God's word. RobSGive Peace a chance 05:23, February 10, 2023 (EST)
No answer. I am going to expound further on 2 Thes 2 and other passages of scripture, rather than profess this crazy stuff that Mike Flynn is the anti-Christ, by rewriting certain passages so LT can understand:
know ye not that LT's body (assuming LT is a Christian) is the temple of the Holy Ghost
Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion (i.e. rejection of God's word) comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God (i.e. LT's body), proclaiming himself to be God.
So before you go off on Gosar, MTG, Flynn, 'Christian populism' or whatever other 'doctrines of deceit' you wish to preach and publicly espouse, I think you need to clearly state that you believe Adam and Eve's first sin was rejecting God's word, thereby rebelling against God. This ain't rocket science. RobSGive Peace a chance 11:03, February 11, 2023 (EST)
Addendum: being that LT clearly has rejected the doctrine of 'once saved, always saved", it is not preposterous to assume that LT's body could have at one time been the temple of the Holy Ghost, but because of LT's rejection of the word of God, the man of lawlessness was revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in LT's body, proclaiming himself to be God, i.e. worshipping and serving the creature more than the creator.
The only way out of this conundrum would be to accept the doctrine of 'once saved always saved', and then LT wouldn't have to worry about the man of sin, lawlessness, and destruction booting him out of the temple of God and going back to worshipping himself (the creature) more than the creator. RobSGive Peace a chance 11:10, February 11, 2023 (EST)

I may be simplifying this matter, but Christian nationalism seeks two things: 1) The government to indicate that the country is a Christian country. 2) Laws that enforce Christian morality and/or practices (anti-abortion law, anti-homosexuality laws, Sunday laws, anti-blasphemy laws, etc.). On the other hand, in the West, advocates of the religion of secular humanism, liberal Christianity or related religions/ideologies want evolutionism, homosexual agenda, etc. to be advanced by the state. It is a culture war.

In colonial times, I know that it was common in the USA for each state to have a form of Christianity and the power of the state was commonly used to enforce that type of religion. One/an exception was Pennsylvania due to the influence of William Penn who was a Quaker who advocated religious freedom.

In European history, it was common for various countries to use the power of the state to enforce a particular religion. To a certain degree, this still happens due to state churches, laws that have the effect of enforcing some of the doctrines of the religion of secular humanism to a certain degree (Germany does not allow homeschooling and teaches evolutionism in schools).

In countries where Eastern Orthodox Christianity is the main religion, there is commonly close ties between church/state. Conservative (talk) 00:09, February 10, 2023 (EST)

AHA, you just said: "Christian nationalism seeks... Laws that enforce Christian morality and/or practices... Sunday laws." Given that an international Sunday law has been identified as the upcoming mark of the beast, you quietly admitted that "Christian nationalists" are ostensibly serving Satan's agenda. —LT (Matthew 26:52) Friday, 15:56, February 10, 2023 (EST)
German churches are supported by the government, and taxpayers must pay a Church Tax. True, there is no official state religion, but Churches must jump through hoops to qualify for the government payroll, be it Lutheranism, Roman Catholicism, Asarte (Odinism), or Satanism. Even atheists have to pay the Church Tax I think.
The BRD instituted this law to separate themselves from Nazism and Communism, I guess. After WWII, there was a social stigma attached to atheism in West Germany, but not in the East. RobSGive Peace a chance 00:59, February 10, 2023 (EST)

"Woke Liberals PANIC as Christian Nationalism SURGES across the USA"—seriously?

Right now some of you perhaps believe that the religious Christian Nationalist dimension of the populist right will usher the U.S., and perhaps the whole word even, in a godly utopia. But what does the New Testament say on the matter? Here was Jesus's answer to Pilate:

My kingdom is not of this world.

—John 18:36

The god of this world is the devil, per 2 Cor. 4:4. History has shown that efforts to form a utopia ultimately result in genocidal mass murder, be it atheistic Communism or fanatical theocracy. The political ideology deemed "Christian Nationalism" is a tool of the devil to prepare for the rise of the false prophet of Revelation, aka the second beast, which will reiterate the blasphemies of the Antichrist and enforce false Sunday worship.

All these apostate Protestant and "traditionalist Catholic" right-wing populists who pave the way for theocratic neopapal tyranny, thinking that they are serving the will of God, will be in for a rude awakening when they are wiped out by either the seven last plagues or the second return of Jesus, and notice in their next conscious thought that they are resurrected outside the New Jerusalem. —LT (Matthew 26:52) Saturday, 22:41, February 17, 2023 (EST)

Also, it's time to stop thinking that Christian Nationalism, at its core, is truly right-wing. Similar to the political ideology of the Second Ku Klux Klan, it seeks to use big government to enforce strict moral laws and compel individuals by force to comply, rather than following the true gospel of winning over hearts. It's essentially a brainchild of the Social Gospel. —LT (Matthew 26:52) Saturday, 22:50, February 17, 2023 (EST)

Wow. Sounds like "strong delusion", kinda like thinking a boy can become a girl. RobSGive Peace a chance 22:58, February 17, 2023 (EST)
An actual example of "strong delusion" would be thinking that theocratic tyranny will usher the country in a utopia. If you persistently close your mind and harden your heart into refusing to see with your own eyes that "Christian Nationalism" will expedite the formation of the false prophet and result in Satan's final great persecuting power, it'll be too late by the time you learn on Final Judgment when you're outside the holy city. —LT (Matthew 26:52) Saturday, 23:03, February 17, 2023 (EST)
My question is, is God sending them "strong delusion" a future event, or something that has happened in the past and may be or is happening right now? RobSGive Peace a chance 23:21, February 17, 2023 (EST)
I mean, short of thinking yourself is God (worshiping the creature more than creator, he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God), thinking a boy can become a girl is next level strong delusion. RobSGive Peace a chance 23:24, February 17, 2023 (EST)
To speed this discussion along, you keep talking as if the anti-Christ, mark of the beast, etc etc etc is some future event. It's not. It is right before you here and now. Ellen G. White and the First Adventists suffered from strong delusion. Your failure to recognize 2 Thes 2 is not speaking about future events, but about your own rebellion against God by not accepting God's word and God's grace. RobSGive Peace a chance 23:34, February 17, 2023 (EST)
Once you accept Christ, you have been resurrected from death to life. For a Christian, the resurrection is not a future event. RobSGive Peace a chance 23:38, February 17, 2023 (EST)
That which is flesh is flesh, that which is spirit is spirit.

You're barking up the wrong tree looking for a fleshly resurrection. RobSGive Peace a chance 17:32, February 19, 2023 (EST)

LT, you wrote: "History has shown that efforts to form a utopia ultimately result in genocidal mass murder, be it atheistic Communism or fanatical theocracy. "

My rebuttal: Christians, especially Protestant Christians, don't do utopias. Why? Because we believe that most men are sinners (The gate of destruction is wide and narrow is the road to heaven). And many Christians believe in original sin. And some Protestants believe in total depravity (Calvinists) and John Wesley who founded the Methodists believed in very near total depravity. You can't have a utopia with a lot of flawed people - namely sinners. Conservative (talk) 18:11, February 19, 2023 (EST)

Are you seriously going to flat-out ignore the loads of apostate Protestants who are denouncing separation of church and state and are clamoring for a theocratic iron fist of government tyranny? According to a poll, more than half of registered Republicans now support Christian Nationalism, which amounts to millions who adhere to the heretical teaching. —LT (Matthew 26:52) Sunday, 18:17, February 19, 2023 (EST)
One of the reasons why the USA has a separation of powers and checks and balances is due to its Protestant influence. If most men are sinners, then you need to limit men's powers via separation of powers and checks and balances. Conservative (talk) 18:19, February 19, 2023 (EST)
LT, the USA Constitution says CONGRESS shall not establish a religion nor prevent the free exercise thereof. But in the separate states did establish religions (For example, like Puritanism in one or more states. I am not sure of the particulars. Anyways the USA Constitution has a lot of Enlightenment ideas that I disagree with. It is not a perfect constitution, but far better than most constitutions. Conservative (talk) 18:24, February 19, 2023 (EST)
Yes, and it's the Christian Nationalists who are trying to undo the biblical principle of separation of church and state so they can install an apostate theocracy mandating Sunday observance. Yes, the U.S. was founded on republicanism and authentic Protestant values, but is turning away from such principles towards apostate Protestantism. The Apostle John wrote:
Then I saw another beast rising out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb and it spoke like a dragon.

—Rev. 13:11

Once Christian Nationalists gain power, they'll institute a Sunday law and initiate the mark of the beast. The U.S., once lamb-like in its initial championing of religious liberty (even then, state and local blue laws, often with antisemitic effects, have been instituted for a long time), will speak as a dragon in a future national Sunday decree. Don't you see? —LT (Matthew 26:52) Sunday, 18:20, February 19, 2023 (EST)
I am not aware of any Bible verses advocating a separation of church and state. I think you are out in left field on this one. Conservative (talk) 18:28, February 19, 2023 (EST)

Yes, the current law says that Congress can't establish a state religion. So the law will eventually be changed, probably with a constitutional amendment, to allow for a national Sunday law. And if you think that's impossible, take a look at 2 Corinthians 4:4 and remember who the god of this world is. —LT (Matthew 26:52) Sunday, 18:28, February 19, 2023 (EST)
30% of the USA are Christian nationalists according to the data cited by Turley. That is a big voting block. So Christian nationalists already have power. And post 2050 when secularism plateaus and desecularization begins, Christian nationalists will keep gaining more and more power - barring the great falling away prophesied in the New Testament happening. Conservative (talk) 18:34, February 19, 2023 (EST)
A constitutional ammendment? Really? That takes a big majority to pass. So that is likely far down the pike if it happened. Conservative (talk) 18:37, February 19, 2023 (EST)
If the majority of a country can be persuaded that interracial marriage should be illegal (for much of U.S. history, most of the population opposed "miscegenation"), or that federal efforts to protect civil rights should be ended (towards the end of Reconstruction, most of the North opposed federal enforcement against Louisiana Democratic insurrectionists who overthrew the Kellogg government), or that women should be allowed to kill their own children (modern times), or that homosexual "marriage" should be sanctioned by the state, etc., then yes, the same country ultimately can pass a law mandating Sunday worship. —LT (Matthew 26:52) Sunday, 18:43, February 19, 2023 (EST)
No, Christian Nationalists themselves are among the falling away. There will be no supposed 2050 utopian ascension ushered by the Christian Nationalists, because by then the world would likely have already ended because the said apostate Protestants, serving the will of old Papal Rome, brought about the last stages of the end times and Jesus would have returned subsequently. —LT (Matthew 26:52) Sunday, 18:39, February 19, 2023 (EST)

That's only because you failed to think critically and failed to understand the truth evident in front of your very eyes. The Apostle John wrote of testimonies which one knows is true (John 21:24, 3 John 12), and the Apostle Paul said that the wicked suppress the truth in their own unrighteousness. (Romans 1:18) Now, obviously my word isn't on par with the inspired word of God by John the Apostle, though you get the point. —LT (Matthew 26:52) Sunday, 18:49, February 19, 2023 (EST)
Let's take your usage of the term, "Sunday blue laws", which is based upon a SCOTUS ruling after the repeal of the Prohibition. Like the setting aside of Roe v. Wade, SCOTUS ruled that individual states, counties, and municipalities can regulate liquor sales on Sunday (or even ban liquor sales completely). Where you come up with the rest of this stuff, I have no idea.
Additionally, if a municipality or state mandated you to worship on Sunday, wouldn't you be bound to do so based on your reading of Rom. 13:1: LT: "The Apostle Paul, which Conservapedia considers as an ideological forefather of conservative principles, said in Romans 13:1:"

Of course, no prophet, including Ellen G. So much for sexual morality—"right-wing" populism is closer to godless Marxism than you think!

Who would've thought Trump was such a Communist?

After all, I thought only Marxists would support defunding law enforcement.

This lunatic cult of "right-wing populists," who are merely brainchild descendants of old-school progressives, perhaps ought to read up on basic history. During Jesus's time extending to a century afterward, Jewish nationalists who rejected His message that "my kingdom is not of this world" (John 18:36) thought it wise to violently overthrow the Roman authorities, and the subsequent anarchic environment facilitated atrocities a magnitude worse than the tyranny of Pagan Rome. Our contemporary banditti of "Christian Nationalists" who seek to overthrow the U.S. government and establish an earthly utopia are repeating the same mistakes of Jewish nationalists two millennia ago, and are reserving for themselves eternal punishment. This video (and channel as a whole) brilliantly exposes and documents the rise of Christian Nationalism in current phases of apostate Protestantism. And due to the corruption of the Democrats, the Republicans will eventually take power and institute theocratic totalitarianism. —LT (Matthew 26:52) Thursday, 21:00, April 5, 2023 (EDT)
From 3 Angels network, January 8, 2021:
"On Wednesday, January 6th, 2021, the country and the world watched with horror as the Capitol Building in Washington D.C. was assaulted by thousands of people protesting the results of the 2020 election. Since that day Christian Nationalism has been on the rise and you need to understand where this is headed."
Dang, I thought it was an FBI false flag event, not a so-called "Christian Nationalist" event.
Now, since you are hellbent on rejecting the gospel of grace in favor of law, and you make prophetic statements such as, "Republicans will eventually take power and institute theocratic totalitarianism", let me remind you this fundamental precept of the Law of God:
the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die. 21 And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?’— 22 when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him."
So, if you choose to follow the path of law-keeping and reject God's grace, I'd be terribly careful about speaking presumptuously. RobSGive Peace a chance 23:19, April 5, 2023 (EDT)
If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

What you do not seem to grasp is, the Christian does not obey or follow the law because he is commanded to do so at the threat of hell.[1] The Christian obeys (or attempts to obey) the law because it is the desire of his heart, in the fiber and core of his very being, in much the same way Jesus says, For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. Go back and re-read Job (the oldest book of the Bible). Satan essentially insults God, calls him a pimp, and says Job only follows God cause Job is God's paid prostitute. So God breaks down the hedges around Job and allows Satan to attack him to test Job. But Job refused to curse God. Why? Cause Job was commanded not to? Because the law forbid it? Not hardly. Job was "perfect and upright"; Peter said, for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Okay, then explain how Job was declared "perfect and upright" long before Jesus was born (numerous other illustrations in the OT). RobSGive Peace a chance 00:10, April 6, 2023 (EDT)

On this Easter Sunday I've been thinking a lot about this scripture:
And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
One big sin of I have to be mindful of relapsing into is criticizing the church - they make it too easy to do. As one whom God has seen fit to resurrect from the dead, bear in mind:
My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
So when a group of believers make their doctrinal foundation criticizing other believers, ask yourself, 'where is Christ preeminent?' RobSGive Peace a chance 00:51, April 10, 2023 (EDT)
  1. fn1 - This is where Christopher Hitchens, for all his intellect, went off the rails, describing a belief in God as a "celestial North Korea." All cults which reject God's grace teach essentially the same thing - that God uses coercion for failure to comply with God's law. No sin is too big or beyond God's forgiveness (with one exception). Moses murdered the Egyptian and was promoted as God's lawgiver; David murdered Uriah to coverup adultery and is remembered as "a man after God's heart". Yet some claim God will condemn you to hell for not keeping the Sabbath. This seems like a two tier justice system, prosecuting Trump for parking tickets while letting Hillary and Biden off the hook for mishandling classified information.

The evil of Biden's neglect will soon be overshadowed by the Satanic tyranny of the American apostate beast system (aka the false prophet of Revelation), working in collaboration with Papal Rome to force the world to worship Sunday, all thanks to you and your extreme-right pals in Congress like MTG, Gosar, and Boebert trying to establish a national-populist utopia. The Apostle John warned in the Book of Revelation of the second beast:
And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain. Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name.

—Rev. 13:15–17

So when the GOP wins big in 2024 and/or '26, the right-wing "Christian Nationalists" will start saying, "we need to legislate this country back into godly morality," and among such governmental actions will be Sunday rest laws. And when the remnant church refuses to comply, the Christian Nationalists, working in tandem with left-wing environmentalists (who will support Sunday rest as fighting climate change due to mandated reduction of consumption), will say, "oh look, these people won't comply with our efforts to bring forth a godly utopia, so we need to restrict their buying and selling." And as SDAs, perhaps along with new converts to Christianity from rabbinical Judaism, refuse to worship the beast system, the beast system united front will soon clamor for the execution of the true remnant church and ironically slander them as "heretics."
And as a corollary, ostensibly, yes, "American patriotism," from a biblically sound eschatological standpoint is really a form of Satanic worship, since the U.S. is the false prophet/second beast of Revelation. —LT (Matthew 26:52) Tuesday, 15:18, February 21, 2023 (EST)

The prophetic side

Let's not let our view of the situation be limited to worldliness. How is this event significant in the preparation for the final stages of the end times? Well, what would be the result of Biden and the Democrats continuing to put Natomite cash-grab corruption above the needs of Americans? The Republicans will win in 2024. And what then? The GOP, taken over by fringe, right-wing apostate "Christian Nationalists," will institute an image of Papal Rome by turning the U.S., founded on the crucial pillar of separation of church and state, into a theocracy mandating false worship. It's time to snap out of the naive worldly delusions that Satan pushes, and look from the spiritual/prophetic perspective with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. —LT (Matthew 26:52) Tuesday, 15:07, February 21, 2023 (EST)

The USA doesn't have strict separation of church and state. The USA is not like France in that respect as it did not have an atheistic, anti-clerical revolution like the French Revolution. For example, the USA has: a Office of the Senate Chaplain; National Prayer Breakfast; the pledge of allegiance has "one nation under God"; the national currency has "in God we trust", the US Supreme Court has Moses depicted several times in the stone and marble edifice that is the Supreme Court building, and so are the Ten Commandments and the U.S. President's inauguration has him being sworn in with his hand on the Bible. Conservative (talk)
[EC] Well, there's at least enough of it, at least at the very moment, to prevent the national government from outright enforcing false worship. The U.S. came close to a national Sunday law in 1888 when Republican U.S. senator Henry W. Blair, at the insistence of pseudo-Sabbath organizations, introduced the Blair Sunday-Rest Bill, which failed when SDAs like A. T. Jones fought against the tyrannical apostate proposal that never made it to a floor vote (thank God). However, once the apostate Protestants take over the U.S. government when the Republicans win big in 2024, the government will soon institute a Sunday decree and institute an image of Papal Rome, which was wounded by the sword in 1898 and lived after signing the Lateran Treaty with Fascist Italy. It's only a matter of time. —LT (Matthew 26:52) Tuesday, 15:39, February 21, 2023 (EST)
In addition, many states have blue laws. Conservative (talk) 15:41, February 21, 2023 (EST)
Yes, there are some "blue laws," though that doesn't constitute the mark of the beast because they're not necessarily enforcing Sunday worship, and are limited to state/local jurisdictions as opposed a national decree. —LT (Matthew 26:52) Tuesday, 15:43, February 21, 2023 (EST)

Note on accepting "political betting" as the unadulterated prophecy of God: I can't say much about how odds are established in casino gambling however I do understand horserace book making pretty good. First off, the odds are established entirely by man, and not God. In horseracing, the "odds on" or betting "favorite" loses 2/3 of the time. IOWs, the name of the game is "beat the favorite". "The crowd is always wrong" (can even apply in the stock market sometimes), well, not always, only 2/3 of the time. So the successful horse gambler has to identify which of every three races to sit out, in addition to which other horses in the field can beat the favorite in the 2 out of 3 races he actually participates in. If you "go along with the crowd" in gambling, you will get killed everytime.
I have been to casinos and horse tracks where I have been on a roll, and it absolutely amazes me how other patrons come up to me, pat me on the back, and tell me how happy they are for me. I want to turn to them and say, "it's your money I'm taking, you stupid idiot. You think the House is losing?" If you wanna play the game, learn the rules first. RobSGive Peace a chance 19:54, February 21, 2023 (EST)
So, moving on from our basic premise of political betting based upon the same principles of odds making used in horse racing, Why is the crowd always wrong? because the crowd, not knowing the horses, bets whom they are told to bet by handicappers and oddsmakers. A smart gambler who knows the favorite will win, will not bet and will sit the race out - cause the payoff is not there. A "successful" gambler, if there is such a thing, must consistently win with odds of 4-1 or better to justify his habit. Why 4-1? Cause the gambling tax is 20%, i.e. the House and state gambling commission takes 20% off the top. He has to do much better than just win back his own money, which is what happens 1/3 of the time when the betting favorite wins. IOWs, the "betting favorite" is a pool of bettors who have no idea about the ability of the horse or candidate they are betting, what the rules of the game are, and only doing what they are told to do by oddsmakers and handicappers. They have no independent handicapping skills of their own. The people betting the favorite have no idea what they are doing, or why.
By contrast, the "smart money crowd" (another horseracing term borrowed by stock market technical analysts) is made up of bettor or stock market investors who are "doing everything right" to win. They are not willing to risk money on a "favorite" only to win back their own money. Hence the most knowledgeable people in the game have no impact whatsoever on betting odds in those rare instances when the betting favorite actually wins.
Conclusion: In horseracing, as in political betting, the "betting favorite" represents the money of the least knowledgeable bettors. RobSGive Peace a chance 20:52, February 21, 2023 (EST)

RobS, you are dead wrong. The website https://electionbettingodds.com/ offers the best predictor of elections that currently exists and its accuracy of predictions is very high. To see why, read: Election Betting Odds FAQ. Conservative (talk) 00:52, February 22, 2023 (EST)

Looked at your Betting Odds website. I can point out a half dozen flaws in the methodology you are using to predict winners, beginning with their own admission that Trump had only a 20% chance in 2016 ("the crowd is always wrong", "the money on the favorite represents the least knowledgeable bettors", etc.) There is some reference to FTX on this page, which of course had billions to affect odds. But most specifically, you would have to create two classes of elections, primary elections with multiple choices, versus general elections akin to a match race or coin toss.
A pig like George Soros or Mark Zuckerberg can walk in and place 10 zillion dollars on Hillary Clinton or Kamala Harris, upset the odds, buy free publicity for his favorite, and win his money back. How can you take this seriously? RobSGive Peace a chance 02:51, February 22, 2023 (EST)
Do you understand how odds are made? Would you risk $2 to win back $3.20 at the risk of being wiped out if you were wrong? RobSGive Peace a chance 01:09, February 22, 2023 (EST)
Or $200 to win $320? or $2,000 to win $3,200? It's not a very prudent investment, and only a fool, which is the majority of gamblers who create the favorite, would wager money on. A professional is looking to take the fools money, cause the odds (2 out of 3) say the fools (i.e. the majority of bettors, or "the crowd") is wrong. RobSGive Peace a chance 01:14, February 22, 2023 (EST)
(ec) IOWs, if you were that sure a candidate or horse would win, and your choice happens to be the same as most other bettors, you would not make the wager, cause you have nothing to gain and everything to lose. RobSGive Peace a chance 01:19, February 22, 2023 (EST)
Hence the most informed handicappers sit the race out, and only the fools (aka "suckers") make up the odds. RobSGive Peace a chance 01:37, February 22, 2023 (EST)
It's a simple rule of thumb: in any wagering game, the people behind the money on the favorite do not know what they are doing. How does Kamala Harris feel about Venn diagrams?

If only Harris loved America half as much as she loves Venn diagrams. This compilation of our vice president enthusing about the diagrams is pretty funny. Just wait till she finds out about the Pythagorean theorem. Hang on, Joe! You're the only thing that stands between America and this idiocy. PeterKa (talk) 23:55, February 24, 2023 (EST)

Mm-hmm. California students aren't required to take geometry in school? Algebra II also makes use of geometry. By information and belief, she graduated from Howard University. Don't most Universities require College Algebra to get a Bachelor's degree? So is her ignorance of the Pythagorean Thereom that you allege to be "looped" or "circled" into the "idiocy" you see in the video. How convenient it would be if you could make a Venn Diagram so very like the one you described work for yourself. Though I wouldn't be audacious enough to inquire of what specific value thereof, qualitative or otherwise. VargasMilan (talk) Sunday, 22:45, March 5, 2023 (EST)
