Anita Perry

The section you've added about her brother is almost half of the article, and would probably fit better in the Rick Perry and/or G.W. Bush articles. It was the interaction between the men that's caused whatever stress there might be. I was just updating the story and putting <ref> in front of cite web and </ref> at the end of the reference. In the past this has been no problem, but for the past two weeks, it causes the story to go haywire, and the <ref> and </ref> disappear. Some of the stories, such as Gene Reynolds and A. Articles you've created.

I'm not 100% sure about this, but I believe that articles about cities are titled just by the name of the city. You've created a bunch that are titled "City, State." You might want to see if you can bring them in line with the existing style. Peace, etc. MattyD 12:00, 25 September 2012 (EDT)

You may have to set up redirects or get a sysop to move the articles for you--it's the titles that need to be changed more that the first sentence. MattyD 12:07, 25 September 2012 (EDT)

It should be a case by case thing. Portland is also an historic port-city in Victoria, Australia. There is the famous Alexandria in Egypt. And so on. Click on Kingston - there are many many more towns and cities of that name around the world founded by Brits during the colonial era and named after their home town. An example of what can happen. In March 2007 an edit to Archimedes mentioned the tyrant of Syracuse with a red link to Syracuse. In October 2007 an article was created for Syracuse New York, heading: Syracuse This enlivened the link in the Archimedes article to make it look (to the very ignorant) as if he lived in upstate New York. It's fixable but would not have happened if the American city had been headed "Syracuse N.Y." or similar. AlanE 19:37, 25 September 2012 (EDT)

Yes it does. But Conservapedia is not particularly good at "paperwork". Everyone is focused on their own little realm. The person who wrote "Archimedes" didn't give a toss about the chance that someone would enliven the Sicilian Syracuse with the American one. There were editors who cared but one by one they disappeared or were rooted out by TK because they had possibly shown up across the road at you-know-where at some stage. Dvergne, I did not actually copy the articles from Wikipedia. I had them on my own computer file and adjusted the links, etc. It is impossible to copy these articles from Wikipedia, as there is no trace of them there. If I added my experiences with Wikipedia, it would take many, many screens and would bore you to tears. I doubt many would believe me any way. Ultimately, I can't figure out how Wikipedia stays afloat considering the way it treats the writers. How to download photos

This is a bit of an old question--I don't know if you've gotten your answer yet. I don't know of any directions on CP, though other sites such as wikihow offer some. In general, right-click on the image and select the option labeled something like "Save image as..." or "Save as..." You may find this option labeled differently between different Internet browsers. They you simply select a location on your computer to save the file, and click the "save" button. In Chromium-based browsers such as Google Chrome, you may need to download it first, then find it in the bottom bar of your browser and move it to somewhere you can get at later. I don't look at my user page much, and just saw your question. DavidB4 told you how to download a photo from Conservapedia. I suspect that you want to upload photos to Conservapedia. First, find a photo that you can share (perhaps following the instructions above) or the URL of the photo on flickr or Wikimedia Commons. IRC

Hello,
After some discussion (on my talk page and Andy's) it has been decided that I start an Internet Relay Chat channel for Conservapedia, since our old one has been dead since 2009. It is now registered and somewhat set up. I don't know if you use IRC or are interested in doing so, but anyone with block privileges on Conservapedia can also get block privileges on the new IRC channel. Unfortunately, IRC accounts are deleted after 30 days of being unused, so unless you plan on using the IRC at least once a month, there is probably not much point in registering. In any case, feel free to try it out--if you account gets deleted, we can always make another one later. If you are interested, please let me know!

New Template

Hello. I'd just like to inform you that it would be greatly beneficial if you were to assist on working on the following newly created template; Template:Bible Cities

This template was created less than a week ago, and is an attempt to record all the biblical cities of the Old and New Testaments. It would be helpful if you, and other fellow editors at Conservapedia, were to assist in creating articles describing these biblical cities. If you are willing to start making some of these pages, but are not exactly sure how to approach the task, I'd suggest looking at Rhegium or Beeroth, two very (very) recent pages created by myself (Shaaraim is another good example) to get a good understanding at how this thing should be done. If you're willing to go above and beyond, take a look at the page Amphipolis, perhaps the best biblical city page to date. Just to note, this request is optional and you may help out on your own volition.Korvex

You already have upload rights, but please be sure not to upload anything that is copyrighted. Public domain photos are fine to upload without attribution, or anything with properly licensing for use on the internet such as Wikimedia Commons as long as proper attribution is given (Wikimedia has attribution statements which can be used for photos taken from there). Please ask first if there is any question about it. Hi again BHathorn, I'm glad you're familiar with adding military information in infobox officeholder templates, though I should've initially noted that it's only a section for the entire template and not an individual template. As I noticed in your recent page creation here, you used an infobox person template but also added an infobox officeholder template, using the latter only for adding military service information. For that situation and likewise future ones, I would recommend simply using only the infobox officeholder template. For example, in here, much of the information was transferred from this external source. While you did re-word most of it, it's better to further re-structure the sentences to show that you can present the information in your own words; in addition, there's also the Conservapedia:Commandments prohibiting copying from other sources. Uploading images

Hi BHathorn, I've noticed for a while now that you have "Upload" abilities but haven't made any uploads yet. Alright then, here's the idea:

1. Find the image online (or your own work) that you want to upload, and make sure it's downloaded to your computer. (note: if you don't intend to keep the image on your computer that you want to upload to CP, only delete it after successfully uploading it)
2. If you have upload abilities, look the left sidebar on CP, as there should be a link somewhere below "Edit Console" that says "Upload file". Click on it, and you should be at the Special:Upload page. You can otherwise enter "Special:Upload" in the search bar and reach the page that way.
3. In the "Source file" section, click on "Browse" and double-click on the image you had just downloaded. Glance at the right side pop-up to make sure that it's the correct image you intend to upload. In addition, for "Destination filename" in the "File description" section, a filename should automatically pop up. If the title begins with any number followed by "px-", it's better to remove such, and it's also recommended to replace any appearing underscores with spaces. You can alter any part of the filename except for the ending, which must reflect on the type of image you had downloaded. This means that if the image is a ".jpg", the filename must end in ".jpg", etc.
4. The "Summary" section is technically optional when uploading, but still important to fill in. Depending on what reuse permissions are associated with the image you intend to upload, there are different templates you may need to choose from, including Template:USGovt tag for public domain, etc. It's important to categorize the images as well, especially with Category:Images for every upload, along with other category links based on the topic; for example, if you upload a picture of a Louisiana state representative, you can add in Category:Louisiana and Category:State Representatives.
5. Ignore the final "Licensing" part in the "File description" section, as there's no other option than "None selected".
6. If you followed these steps alright, click on the "Upload file" button at the bottom of the page, and it should work successfully!

It's important to note also, that unless otherwise specified, any image you find online is under full copyright. Sometimes they will specify that you cannot republish it in the Terms of Service, other times they won't. I would suggest skimming through the ToS on the source site to see what they allow. If they don't list any additional restrictions, it might be acceptable to use the image under the "Fair Use" clause on US copyright law. It is often a grey area. If you are going to use an image under this condition, you need to specify in the summary box who actually owns the copyright, the URL source, and that you are using under "Fair Use." Template:Fair use can help with this. If in doubt, assume you can't use it. This is a nuisance, but that's how the law works right now. --DavidB4 ^(TALK) 16:54, 8 September 2020 (EDT)

Here's a very basic example for uploading files: if you are trying to upload this image which you requested on CP:IUR, then firstly right-click the image, click on "Save Image As...", and save it to your computer. Then go to Special:Upload, click on "Browse...", pull up the image you had just saved, and and click on the "Upload File" button at the bottom of the page.

Glad to help out where I can! And regarding downloading images from the internet, hover your mouse on the image, right-click, click on the "Save Image As..." option, and save it somewhere to your computer, preferably the "Downloads".

That's great! Please do remember to include in the "summary" box the source (such as web address it came from--not the search engine's link, but the actual source website), the license (if copyrighted, this would be "Fair Use"), and a couple categories. Category:Images should be added to all images, then ideally one or two other relevant categories. In regard to the image's source, if you did find it using a search engine, then while you have that image selected, please left-click directly on that image, to open the source website. Hi BHathorn, given all your awesome contributions, including additions of biographies on Southern politicians, do you suppose there's anything you can add to the 2020 U.S. House elections page, especially with some information on the Texas candidates? You seem to be an expert in that type of area, and given only around two weeks until the general elections, any more useful information would be very much appreciated. There's also some pages on the candidates that have yet to be created, such as on Wendy Davis, who's challenging incumbent Republican Chip Roy in a close race.
