2024 Starmer riots
The 2024 Starmer riots refers to the "far-right" civil unrest and Islamic mob violence that broke out mainly in England in July and August 2024, less than 5 weeks into the premiership of Keir Starmer. The demonstrations that the media describe as "far-right" were in response to the murder of 3 British girls at a dance class in Southport, Lancashire, on 29 July 2024 by an ethnic Rwandan born in Cardiff. The initial demonstration took place in Southport itself. In response to the Southport demonstration, the Labour government exposed the two-tier nature of its response to protests and civil unrest; observers in the media noted that Home Secretary Yvette Cooper responded more aggressively to the Southport demonstrators, who were mainly white British, than she had to a riot in Leeds, Yorkshire 2 weeks prior, caused by migrants.[1] Further evidence of the Starmer government's two-tier approach to protest is evidenced by his then-shadow government's solidarity with the 2020 leftwing riots in the USA, in which the Marxist-Leninist terrorist group Black Lives Matter murdered at least 6 African Americans.
In addition to the allegations of two-tier policing, riots were used as a pretext for authoritarian mass surveillance and police state policies such as facial recognition and preventing would-be demonstrators from boarding public transport, as confirmed by Starmer on 31 July.[2][3]
The allegations of two-tier policing were confirmed on 5 August, when David Kurten noted that a mob of violent Muslim thugs waving Palestine flags descended on the streets of Birmingham, Warwickshire, and no arrests were made, nor did the police engage in any of the other heavy-handed responses as they had done with the anti-immigration protesters, nor was the group condemned by the Starmer government.[4] A white man was the victim of a violent racist assault in a pub by one of the pro-Palestine thugs.[5] Following media fake news that "over 100 far-right" protests" would occur on 7 August, thousands of hateful and violent anarchists, anti-white racists, communists, Marxists and Muslim extremists took to the streets in "anti-racist counter protests" (according to the media). Such "anti-racist" demonstrators threatened to "cut the throats" of anti-immigration activists and assaulted men wearing Union Jacks.[6]
Only 31% of Brits approved of Starmer's response to the riots, with over 50% disapproving.[7] 62% of Labour voters believe that immigration has contributed to the riots.[8] Elon Musk has argued that a civil war is "inevitable" as a result of the Labour government's response to the riots.[9]

2024 Southport stabbings
At around midday on 29 July 2024, a mass stabbing took place at a dance studio in Southport, Lancashire. 3 children were murdered in the attack, with their names and ages later being revealed as Bebe King (6), Elsie Dot Stancombe (7), and Alice Dasilva Aguiar (9). A further 10 people, 8 of whom were children, were non-fatally injured with 5 of the children being in critical condition in hospital.[10] The attack occurred at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class.
The attacker was confirmed as Axel Rudakubana, a 17-year old ethnic Rwandan born in Cardiff, Glamorgan, Wales, who had moved with his family to Banks, Lancashire, near Southport.[11]
"Far-right" response
Initial demonstrations
The attack at Southport was followed by demonstrations that the mainstream media labelled as "far-right". The initial demonstration was in Southport itself, followed by demonstrations in Aldershot, Hartlepool, London and Manchester.[12]
Government response and two-tier policing

On 31 July, Starmer responded to the "far-right" riots by using the scenes as a pretext for Orwellian curtailments of civil liberties and the establishment of a surveillance state. Of the tools being deployed to curtail rioting, Starmer specifically named "wider deployment of facial recognition technology, and preventative action: criminal behaviour orders to restrict their movement, before they can even board a train". The response was condemned by civil liberties groups including Big Brother Watch, who described the the Prime Minister's words an "alarming pledge" that "threatens rather than protects democracy".[3]
"Two-tier" Keir Starmer's response to the unrest has been widely criticised and is unpopular in the UK. Nigel Farage, the leader of Reform UK who are the UK's main populist opposition party, condemned the "far-right" violence and accused Keir Starmer of not addressing the root cause of the riots, which is immigration and knife crime.[13] The Reform UK Member of Parliament for Ashfield Lee Anderson has similarly attributed mass, uncontrolled immigration and the failure of Parliament to the riots, also calling out deputy Prime Minister "Vape Dragon" Angela Rayner on GB News for her out of touch decision to disperse migrants all around the UK.[14]
Jason Hayes, who bravely attempted to disarm the attacker during that stabbings in Southport, urged Keir Starmer to acknowledge immigration as the cause of the riots in the UK.[15]
"Anti-racist counter-protests" and violence incitement
Among the first violent responses by "anti-racist" counter protesters happened in Leeds, West Riding of Yorkshire on 3 August. A 17-strong gang, of which 2, Sameer Ali and Adnan Ghafoor, were sentenced for their crimes, attacked a small number of peaceful protesters (who, according to the mainstream media, were "pro-English Defence League") wearing Union Jacks.[16]
In early August 2024, there was a mass media disinformation campaign in the UK which claimed that "over 100 far-right protests" would occur on 7 August in the UK (a fraction of which materialised). This baseless fake news has been described as "Soviet-style" propaganda. In response to these claims, around 25,000 (according to the media) far-left communists and socialists, many associated with the divisive HOPE not hate group (who spread disinformation about prior "far-right" protests in Middlesbrough), held demonstrations at various locations in the UK in what the biased media and political establishment labelled as "anti-racist counter-protests".
On 7 August, multiple far-left "anti-racist" demonstrations took place across the UK. At one such event in Liverpool, numerous commentators noted, including Heritage Party leader David Kurten, that the police guided the far-left protesters towards those protesting against immigration.[17]
On 7 August, the far-left Labour councillor Ricky Jones addressed a crowd of so-called "anti-racist" demonstrators at Walthamstow, London, in what the establishment media described as a "peace" march, called for the protesters that the media describes as "far-right" to have their throats slit.[6]
Birmingham Islamic thuggery
In in Yardley areas of Birmingham, Warwickshire, on 5 August 2024, a group of young Islamic thugs attacked a pub called "The Clumsy Swan". The gang attacked vehicles and threatened Sky News reporters. Many of the rioters were carrying Palestinian flags. In what was described as a racist attack, pubgoer Sean McDonagh, aged 51, was attacked by a member of the mob who were wearing a balaclava. McDonagh was punched to the floor and then kicked several times, telling The Telegraph he was taken to hospital with a lacerated liver.[18]
The Muslim MP for Birmingham Perry Bar Ayoub Khan claimed that the Islamic mob violence was the "natural reaction" to what he described as "racism" and an "Islamophobic attitude", referring to the various "far-right" demonstrations in the UK in that days leading up to the Birmingham attack.[19]
Many Yardley residents questioned the lack of a police response to the Islamic attack, compared to the heavy-handed policing of "far-right" demonstrations in the days prior. The incident confirmed the multiple accusations of two-tier policing, after "far-right" demonstrators had been treated more firmly than Muslim protesters.[20]
Other Islamic mobs
In Bolton, Lancashire, on 6 August, in a clash with mostly peaceful anti-immigration protesters, a gang of armed Asian men ran through streets shouting "Allahu Akbar".[21] Similar scenes also occurred in response to "far-right" unrest in Middlesbrough, North Riding of Yorkshire, where white men were attacked by Asian rioters;[22] when Alex Thompson, a chief correspondent for Channel 4 News, posted footage on X of an Asian gang beating up a lone white protester in Middlesbrough, he received criticism for using the word "Asian" and the post was later deleted.[23]
