Victor Davis Hanson

Victor Davis Hanson, often called VDH (born September 5, 1953), is an American classicist, historian, author, and conservative political commentator who works as a senior fellow at the Hoover Institute at Stanford University and a contributor to the National Review. A native of Selma, California, where he resides on a farm that has been in his family since the 1970s, he received his PhD in classics from Stanford in 1980.

Hanson has written numerous books on various historical and political topics, including The Case for Trump (2019) and The Dying Citizen, an extensive chronicle that focuses on the hazards from illegal immigration. He frequently appears on Fox News, particularly the Jesse Watters and Laura Ingraham programs, and Newsmax to discuss current issues.

He was married to Cara Webb from 1977-2005, with whom he had two daughters and a son. As of 2013, he is married to Jennifer Heyne.
