The Philippines is a country of many people. And one of the core values of Filipinos is having smooth interpersonal relations.[1]

Interpersonal relations relates to developing and maintaining effective relationships with others.[2] Part of interpersonal relations involves the ability to relate well to people from varied backgrounds and in different contexts.[3] Interpersonal relations involves: understanding others; showing courtesy to others; being tactful, and showing empathy, concern, and politeness.[4]

The five types of interpersonal relations

The five types of interpersonal relationships:

1. Family

2. Friendships

1. Focus on developing stronger interpersonal skills and communication skills

According to Genevieve Northup, MBA, SHRM-CP, HCI-SPTD, four main types of communication are: verbal skills, nonverbal skills, written and visual.[7]
