In Greek mythology, Aphrodite was the Greek Goddess of beauty and love. She was called Venus by the Romans, after the evening star (which we know today is a planet called Venus).
Aphrodite was married to Hephaestus (Vulcan), the blacksmith god but she was secretly in love with Ares (A.K.A Mars), the god of war.
