Edits to 1984

Thanks for your superb edits to 1984. You might be interested in this discussion we've had about Orwell:Mystery:Did George Orwell Become a Conservative?--Aschlafly 16:45, 29 October 2008 (EDT)

Hey, thanks! I added a new section also, called Governmental Structure. I also revamped the plot a bit.

The Message

I really enjoyed your new entry The Message and your quote from Psalm 23!--aschlafly 20:40, 20 December 2008 (EST)

Hey thanks! You gave me the idea to create articles about Bibles. I'd even like to make a table of all the translations and put it at the bottom of the pages, you know.

I bet there's more good stuff to find in Bible translations, and it's extremely educational to study these issues. I find it fascinating.--aschlafly 22:19, 20 December 2008 (EST)

Second model answer

I just added a second model answer from your homework. Well done!--aschlafly 11:16, 21 December 2008 (EST)

Thanks so much! Hey, I did a real good job! :)

Block reversed

I'm surprised that you were able even to edit my talk page. In any event, the block has been removed.--TerryHTalk 23:04, 29 December 2008 (EST)

Thanks. Interestingly, it disappeared a few minutes later so that in fact I have been editing all day. Who knows. But thanks. User:AddisonDM 29 December 2008

Move requests

Thank you for taking care of all these move requests. Some of them had been bugging me for quite some time, but unfortunately there was nothing I could do about them. -Foxtrot 12:06, 3 January 2009 (EST)

Some help?

Would you like some help with all those moves? Problem is I can not remember where to find the list of pages! --KotomiTohayougozaimasu 13:13, 3 January 2009 (EST)

You made a good decision on using "Debate" for debates, Addison, rather than putting them in the "Conservapedia" namespace.--Andy Schlafly 14:19, 3 January 2009 (EST)

Thanks.

Terrific cleaning up with your deletions!--Andy Schlafly 15:11, 3 January 2009 (EST)

Essay:Examples of Moronic Vandalism by the "tolerant"

Addison, I'm sorry, but I had to delete your essay for inappropriate content. Even though you substituted symbols for the vowels, it was still inappropriate. --DeanStalk 18:48, 4 January 2009 (EST)

Alright. That will stand unless and until Andy himself agrees. In fact, he likes it. I am going to ask him what he thinks. As he says, he has the last word.

Could you re-name an article???

Hello AddisonDM!!! I was wondering if you could change the title of the Why do people choose homosexuality? article to "Mystery:Why do people choose homosexuality?". It is in the category mystery but is not titled like the others (i.e. does not have "Mystery" on the beginning of the title). If you could fix that I would appreciate that very much. Hope you had a merry Christmas and a happy new year!!! --AmeliaJ 17:56, 5 January 2009 (EST)

Addison, all templates are to be locked, sysop only, all the time. No exceptions. Per Andy. Thanks! --₮K/Administrator/Talk 02:07, 6 January 2009 (EST)

Hans Christian Andersen

Hi, I noticed you added an edit to the page Hans Christian Anderson. I added a merge template to this page back in September 2008, noting that the name of the article is mis-spelled and should be Hans Christian Andersen for which we also have a page. Somehow the suggestion to merge must have been overlooked, and edits continued to be made to the page with the incorrect name. Now that you are a Sysop, I think you should be able to correct the name of the page, otherwise I would urge you to merge the two pages, and not to keep the page that is mis-spelled. Thanks! Taj 19:27, 6 January 2009 (EST)

That was fast - you must have fixed this 30 seconds before I hit save on this edit, lol. Thanks! Taj 19:30, 6 January 2009 (EST)

Hi AddmisonDM,
It's best to just redirect the pages instead of deleting them first. That way it saves a step and also saves the history.
Thanks

FYI, Oxford

Oxford’s IP range is: 129.67.0.0 - 129.67.255.255 and isn’t involved in any range blocks. This is just another example of the liberal trolls and vandals at certain sites use of the "big lie technique", which they spam out to everyone with block rights, to raise a false flag issue. --₮K/Admin/Talk 18:04, 12 January 2009 (EST)

Template:Liberalism

Addison, please stop adding articles to the template. It appears like a navigation template, but it was for information, and just a few pertinent articles were intended to be on it, to help our users understand what it means to be a liberal, is all. Thanks! --₮K/Admin/Talk 21:29, 12 January 2009 (EST)

Template categorization

There seems to be a problem with your recent categorizing of templates. All pages that use the templates that you categorized are now in Category:Navigation box. I hope this doesn't cause much extra work for you, but I had to let you know. WesleySHello! 20:04, 14 January 2009 (EST)

Essay:Greatest achievements of human history

You do realise that this was copied from a site whose name must not be mentioned, and that is why it was deleted? BrianCo 18:31, 18 January 2009 (EST)

Normally it is good form to reply on the same page as where a comment was made to avoid what is known as "ping-ponging". Conversations get very difficult to follow otherwise. Also please note that my user page is currently locked and so I cannot reply on it. Thanks. BrianCo 18:37, 18 January 2009 (EST)
Sorry. I didn't know it was locked! Anyway, I will remember your advice, and I deleted the article. AddisonDM 18:39, 18 January 2009 (EST)

Record shows Philip Rayment unlocked that page at 15:03, 17 January 2009. Yesterday, in other words. I had locked it a week ago when the user said he would be away "on an extended wiki vacation". --₮K/Admin/Talk 20:59, 18 January 2009 (EST)

Category:Navigation box

Hey Addison! So just so you know, I took a look at the problem you and Wesley mentioned on TK's page. I've found that that the problem is a lack of <noinclude></noinclude> tags around the category. Noinclude tags say that when this template is shown on another page, ignore the stuff inside these tags. Here and here you added the category to templates. On face-value that's fine, but the problem is you didn't put noinclude tags around the category, so that category showed up on every page that had either of those templates on it. (Also note that Template:Delete is not a navbox - navboxes are for the purpose of navigating the wiki ... going from one article to another; Template:Delete is more of a notice box, if you will). I'll try to find some more templates with the problem and fix them up. Just so you know - that's a very easy mistake to make, so definitely don't worry about it.--IDuan 17:32, 16 February 2009 (EST)

Thank you! That was an annoying problem! AddisonDM 20:51, 16 February 2009 (EST)

Hello my fellow freshman sysop, HelpJazz was not a vandal. He was in fact a moderate and through no fault of his own, was the target of a parodist plot by a vandal website. Subsequently, he left us for them and made negative comments about CP. This resulted in banishment. If he decided otherwise, he would most likely be invited back.--jpatt 22:49, 22 February 2009 (EST)

  • The negative comments were being made well before Jazz was removed from this site. That is a documented fact. In fact to call them "negative comments" is a deceit as they were most vile and base. While one or two editors here, who later admitted to being parodists were hostile to him, the fact he was not trusted much, from the beginning, is also a documented fact. HelpJazz was rewarded at a well-known vandal site by being made an Administrator there. Mr. Schlafly, as well as the majority of senior administrators, have made it very clear that that he isn't welcome back. --₮K/Admin/Talk 02:33, 23 February 2009 (EST)

When you welcome new users, on the template, you can add "|sig=" and then the four tildes (like this: {{Welcome|sig=~~~~}}). It prevents one having to make an extra edit. Hope this helps, JY23 20:54, 27 February 2009 (EST)

Protecting images

I appreciate all the cool images you've been uploading and inserting in our articles. Since it's our policy to protect all images, I have been doing this for you. I think it's time for you to start protecting the images you upload. Usually we upload a pic, and then protect it before doing another upload. Or you can use the upload log to do them all at once when you're done uploading. --DeanStalk 20:39, 10 March 2009 (EDT)

Alluding to this is completely unnecessary. I don't want my children reading this encyclopedia if it directly references every profane rant from a liberal. - Allison

Hmmm, first of all, Conservapedia contains virtually no profanity or references of liberal rants at all. It was my thought that the disgusting behavior of Perez Hilton should be exposed, but now that you mention it I'm not sure it fits with site policy. But I'll leave it for now and please do not revert my edit. AddisonDM 23:47, 1 May 2009 (EDT)
The point was that he rescinded his apology, not that he is profane (we already knew this). At what point does it become too profane to even quote? For a Christian encyclopedia, I think it already crossed the line. Perez Hilton being profane has absolutely nothing to do with him being a bigot. If you think it does, please explain. - Allison
I don't want to make an argument, but since the quote is merely an allusion and the letters censored, I don't see how can be offensive to a reader.
Since he would make this allusion while claiming to be apologizing does show bigotry and reveal his character. It's not because it's profanity that I want to include it, of course, but because it is an insight into how bigoted the guy is, that he cannot even make a real apology after going on a rant against Prejean. So yes, I do think his bigotry is revealed by his profanity. AddisonDM 23:55, 1 May 2009 (EDT)

You're on a very slippery slope. God forbid some liberal chooses even more profane language that you will thinly veil and quote. Thanks but, I'll take my children elsewhere for a Christian resource. - Allison

Not a slippery slope at all. Here, let me ask JPatt who has made most of the article what he thinks. He is another admin. AddisonDM 00:01, 2 May 2009 (EDT)
Children will have no idea what the missing word is. Those old enough to discern its meaning, will know it is a never acceptable, demeaning word, and therefore defines what kind of man the judge is, and one of obvious low self esteem and morals. Allison, please learn how to sign your posts, with the date and time stamp, please. It is our policy here to NOT revert Administrators, so please read up on it, okay? As the article stands, I don't see anything to object to. It is important that we value the truth (it will set us all free) and show these vile liberals for what they really are. How else can our children protect themselves? --₮K/Admin/Talk 01:22, 2 May 2009 (EDT)
I say ban the obvious troll and unblock the article for editing. Jinx McHue 11:40, 2 May 2009 (EDT)
I agree with TK completely. But Jinx, I don't think we need a ban yet. Just let's leave the article as it is for now. AddisonDM 11:41, 2 May 2009 (EDT)
I posted an alternative in the article's talk in response to your post there before I saw the troll's activity. Let me know what you think. (The troll seems to have run off anyway.) Jinx McHue 11:45, 2 May 2009 (EDT)
Your alternative is good, but since TK and I, both admins, like the article as is, I see no need to change it. That's no insult, but I think it's fine right now. But thanks anyway. AddisonDM 12:09, 2 May 2009 (EDT)
It's okay. I wrote the original version, so I'm happy either way. (Not that I'd be mad if it were to be changed.) Jinx McHue 12:11, 2 May 2009 (EDT)

(undent) Great then. AddisonDM 12:13, 2 May 2009 (EDT)

Told you she was an obvious troll. I love it when I'm right, which is most of the time. Their Poe's Law is such bunk. Jinx McHue 19:39, 2 May 2009 (EDT)

Superb entry!

Addison, the entry that you started entitled Freedom From Religion Foundation is superb!--Andy Schlafly 15:17, 2 May 2009 (EDT)

Thanks! I thought those misleading claims needed to be debunked.AddisonDM 15:48, 2 May 2009 (EDT)
Very nice. Their stupid bus sign campaign needs to be added, too. I can help with that. Jinx McHue 14:29, 3 May 2009 (EDT)
Thanks. Good idea. AddisonDM 15:22, 3 May 2009 (EDT)

Thanks for the block

Thanks for the block on the user that was blanking my (and JPatt's) userpage--IDuan 23:04, 3 May 2009 (EDT)

Very welcome! That's always fun getting one of those guys. AddisonDM 23:04, 3 May 2009 (EDT)

Hi & Thanks

Hi Addison! Thanks so much for the congrats and the welcome. :-) I really enjoyed reading all the quotes on your user page. Very insightful. I especially liked the one about the free lunch... haha! --PhyllisS 21:52, 9 May 2009 (EDT)
