A

First the numbers:

Now the letters:

  • accuracy - According to gun writer Matthew Boyd, accuracy is "the ability of a firearm to place all shots close to the same place. See group."[3]
  • ATF - see BATFE the former Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms

B

  • BATF - see BATFE the former Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms
  • Battle carbine optics - include for example the ACOG. According to Boston, "Optics must be rugged, lightweight, and offer very fast target acquisition for CQB. A circle, dot, or triangle point of aim is the norm, and it should be illuminated at all times day or night (e.g., ACOG "BAC" system with tritium). Distance stadia lines are nice (e.g., ACOG), but not absolutely necessary (e.g., the AUG's 5MOA 'doughnut of death"). As in battle rifles, the scope mount should also be see-through if possible."[6]
  • Battle rifle optics - include for example Burris 3-9x Fullfield II. According to Boston T Party, "Optics must be very rugged and versatile. Rugged because a .308 MBR has hefty recoil and sees hard use. Versatile because the battle rifle will be employed for everything from CQB to precision work. Hence, it must have a quickly acquired point of aim, as well as range finding stadia lines and a BDC. The scope mount should be see-through in order to have immediate use of the iron sights. While I have a lot of experience with the I.O.R. M2 4x units, the Burris Fullfield II ballistic-Plex scopes have now gained my favor as very affordable and rugged optics for battle rifles."[8]
  • brace - A pair (of handguns).

C

  • certiorari - A Supreme Court hearing of a case. To "deny cert" means to refuse to hear the case and let the lower court's ruling stand.
  • cold-carry - A kind of method or gun designed for quick disposal.
  • corrosive - A primer containing corrosive compounds, which are harmful to the bore and gas system unless quickly removed with hot, soapy water. Such primers are extremely stable in storage and in cold weather, which is why many Third World countries still use them today.

D

E

F

  • Federal Reserve Notes - see 0. According to Boston T. Party, "'Federal Reserve Notes' (FRN) which are no longer redeemable, in and masquerade as, real $ dollars (gold/silver money). Ancient Chinese proverb: 'The beginning of wisdom is to call things by their right name.' The inverse of that is to stop calling things by their wrong name, which is why I refuse to call FRNs 'dollars.'"
  • firearm

G

  • grains - According to gun writer Matthew Boyd, grain refers to "a unit of measure in which 7000 grains equal one pound and 437.5 grains equal one ounce. Used in the measure of bullet weight and the weight of powder charges, among other things."[16]
  • "gun free zone" - Another liberal lie politically correct propaganda more accurately called "free kill zones".
  • "gun violence" - The liberal lie politically correct propaganda term (PolSpeak) which includes all forms of gun related injuries including justified self-defense.

  • primer - According to gun writer Matthew Boyd, a primer is "a small cap that fits into the rear of the brass. This cap usually contains a highly sensitive explosive that is required to set of the powder inside of a cartridge."[18]

U

  • unlicensed dealer - the liberal lie politically correct propaganda term (PolSpeak) for a private seller of private property. This Second Amendment right is now decried by President Obama and the libs/Democrats as the "gun show loophole". The term is quite honestly an oxymoron.
