Sheikh Ekrima Sabri [Ikrima Said Sabri] appointed by Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, imam of the Al-Asqa mosque, in a March 2000 interview with the Italian newspaper la Repubblica, responded to a question about the Holocaust by stating, "Six million Jews dead? No way, [sic] they were much fewer. Let's stop with this fairytale ..."

Adolf Hitler would publicize the text as if it were a valid document even though it was exposed as a fake in 1921. After the Nazi Party rose to power in 1933, he ordered the text to be studied in German classrooms. Historian Norman Cohn suggested that Hitler used the Protocols as his primary justification for initiating the Holocaust.

It is still widely available today and continues to be presented by some as a genuine document despite widespread proof by scholars and historians that it is a hoax and blatant plagiarism... Political leaders have not referred to The Protocols since World War II; the exception to this is in the Middle East, where several Muslim regimes and cultural leaders throughout the end of the 20th century endorsed it as authentic, including Anwar Sadat of Egypt, King Faisal of Saudi Arabia, and Colonel Muammar al-Gaddafi. The 1988 charter of Hamas states that The Protocols of the Elders of Zion “embodies the plan of the Zionists.”

Recent endorsements in the 21st century have been made by the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Sheikh Ekrima Sa’id Sabri, and the Education Ministry of Saudi Arabia; televised dramatizations of The Protocols have appeared on Egyptian television and on Al-Manar (Hezbollah) television...

On April 4, 2002, MSA (Muslim Student Association) & GUPS (General Union of Palestine Students) SFSU students circulated a flyer publicizing a pro-Palestinian event entitled: "Genocide in the 21st Century." Invoking a medieval anti-Semitic blood libel, the flyer featured a dead baby on a soup can label, framed by two Israeli flags and the shocking words "Made in Israel -- Palestinian Children Meat -- Slaughtered (the Islamists Antisemitic flier went on) According to Jewish Rites Under American License."

Weeks later, in May of 2002, at the end of a pro-Israel peace rally sponsored by the SFSU Hillel, GUPS SFSU students who had been participating in a counter demonstration surrounded the Hillel students and threatened them verbally and physically, angry GUPS SFSU students poured into the plaza, screaming "Get out or we will kill you!" and "Hitler did not finish the job!"

When the Germans invaded the village of Skarlivka, in the Kiev province, the greater part of the population fled and those who remained hid in the gardens and the fields. Young Greilich, who had taken refuge in the attic of his house, could see everything that was happening in the street below. A German officer, with whip in hand, selected ten bearded, elderly men – five Ukrainians and five Jews. They were each given a spade and ordered to dig a pit. When the pit had been half dug the Nazi ordered the Ukrainians to get out and instructed the Jews to continue digging. After a while he told the Ukrainians to take up their spades and to cover the Jews, who were still digging the pit, with the earth that had been dug up. The Ukrainians, however, just looked horrified when they heard the German officer's command and did not pick up their spades. When the Nazi saw that they would not obey his orders, he forced the Ukrainians to get into the pit and told the Jews to climb out and bury their neighbors. The Jews, among whom was Rachmiel Greilich, Zuni's grandfather, likewise refused to move. Using his foot, so that the old Ukrainians in the pit should not see him, the Nazi shoved some earth on top of them and called; "Look, the Jews are willing to bury you. You'd better get out and bury them." But the old men did not budge.

Thoroughly infuriated by this time, the Nazi shoved the old Jews into the pit, on top of the Ukrainians, and, together with his men, buried them all alive. Not surprisingly, prominent “Palestinians” praised Abbas, his statement. Days later, the Berlin police opened a investigation into Mahmoud Abbas / Abu Mazen on incitement of hatred. Following Abu Mazen's scandalous remarks, former German parliamentarian: 'Germany should send money to families of Munich victims rather than Palestinians.' After Abbas' remarks, a security guard of Arab origin saluted the Nazi salute an Israeli delegation in the Olympic village in Munich. The 19-year-old German security guard of "Arab descent" Nazi saluting, has been suggested to be connected to the incident with remarks made the same day by Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas.
