Template talk:Historic Communism
Too many red links in a template ... unless planning to fill in those entries soon. Thanks.--Andy Schlafly (talk) 00:14, 12 April 2020 (EDT)
- I agree. We need to focus on the danger of Communism today. While its historical context is helpful, it needn't be dominant. We could fill a whole page with persons and organizations in its historical context. RobSDe Plorabus Unum 01:41, 12 April 2020 (EDT)
- Fair enough, I could create a couple of those articles and re-add them to the template when needed. Northwest (talk) 02:48, 12 April 2020 (EDT)
- I'd like to see concentration on documenting a solid basis for adding people such as AOC, etc.. to the Template, not using innuendo or making it all about defunct and historic subjects. And that begins with putting the solid evidence within linked mainspace. RobSDe Plorabus Unum 12:00, 12 April 2020 (EDT)

Cold War I link
There's a link to Cold War I in this nav template, but it redirects to Cold War. Can an administrator change the link to Cold War? Thank you Patriotic Gamer (talk) 23:48, June 21, 2021 (EDT)
- I think you're right, but Cold War II is a developing situation. As of now, it appears Russia is on NATO's side. RobSFree Kyle! 01:21, June 22, 2021 (EDT)
Justin Trudeau and Liberal Party of Canada
Based on recent events, I'd like to see Justin Trudeau and the Liberal Party of Canada be added to this template. Northwest (talk) 07:54, February 17, 2022 (EST)

Page Move - Historic Communism
Historic Communism ends with the Cold War in 1991. Hence subjects like Saul Alinsky or Rules for Radicals for example belong to the Historic Communism Template. RobSAbnormal is fine. Stupid isn't. 16:42, January 7, 2026 (EST)
Comment: There is a big difference between Historic Communism and contemporary communism. Historic Communism in Soviet times was an official, state-funded policy to subvert and overthrow (what we call today a policy of "regime change") existing "bourgeois" governments throughout the world under the banner of worldwide workers revolution. That policy ended in 1988. Contemporary "communism" is a mish-mash of ideologies in different places and not a state-directed policy of international subversion. It's become a catch-all in partisan name-calling. To be a true communist today, one has to advocate for the restoration of the Leninist worldwide revolution, which Russia has rejected.
Communism is more than just being against the profit motive in the "Affordability crisis" which even Republicans advocate for today. RobSAbnormal is fine. Stupid isn't. 22:12, January 8, 2026 (EST)
A separate Template:American Communism will probably have to made eventually. RobSAbnormal is fine. Stupid isn't. 00:26, January 10, 2026 (EST)
