Kenneth Robert "Ken" Buck (born February 16, 1959) is the U.S. Representative for the 4th congressional district of Colorado. A member of the Republican Party and the Tea Party Movement, he was previously District Attorney for Weld County, Colorado. He earned his undergraduate degree from Princeton University in 1981 and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Wyoming School of Law in 1985.
In 1986, he was hired by then Congressman Dick Cheney to work on the Iran-Contra Investigation. After that he worked as a prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington D.C. In 1990, Buck joined the Colorado U.S. Attorney's Office where he became the Chief of the Criminal Division. Throughout his years in Colorado, he has served as an instructor at the University of Denver Law School and for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.
Vetting Buck
The support Buck received during his election campaign put pressure on Democrats to undermine him. Under the pressure of months of campaigning, Buck said, "God, what am I supposed to do?" when confronted by a Democratic worker. With foul language, he suggested that birthers in the Tea Party need to stop asking questions about Obama's birth certificate while on camera.[1] He did not question the certificate and was more concerned about $13 trillion federal debt.
