The Survival Blog is the most popular Preparedness website on the Internet with more than 80 million unique visits since July 2005. "Since its launch in 2005, SurvivalBlog has been the Internet’s most popular daily blog on survival and preparedness topics."[1]

It was founded by Conservative Christian Libertarian New York Times best-selling Survivalist author James Wesley Rawles of the American Redoubt (Idaho-Montana area - "Somewhere West of the Rockies")

James Wesley, Rawles (“JWR”) is the most popular survivalist author (for both non-fiction and dystopian fiction) according to both the New York Times and Amazon.com and is a former U.S. Army Intelligence officer and technical writer. He is now a full-time novelist and part-time blogger and Survivalist retreat consultant. He founded SurvivalBlog in 2005, and now serves as Senior Editor. Day-to-day operation of the blog is handled by Hugh J. Latimer (“HJL”), their Managing Editor.
