San Francisco refers to both the city and county in California[1] and is one of the most beautiful but disastrously liberal cities in the world.[2] It is well known for its excellent public transit systems, including Muni subway and streetcars, BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) trains to suburbs, and the famous San Francisco cable cars.[3] The city has survived two damaging earthquakes, one in 1906 and another one about 75 miles away in 1989[4][5] known as the Loma Prieta Earthquake. Fear of another earthquake is the reason that no freeway through the city exists. Indeed, it is impossible to access the Golden Gate Bridge without driving on city streets.

Political correctness tends to downplay multiple problems of political origin afflicting San Francisco. Shockingly, a prevalence of human waste litters the streets due to a large homeless population. Housing is unaffordable for most, and a two-tier society more common in socialist countries exists. A United Nations report called the homeless crisis created by San Fransico's Progressive culture a human rights violation.[6] While Democrats promote public transportation as an alternative to gas-powered vehicles, more homeless ride public transportation 24/7 as an alternative to living outdoors. Crime on public transportation has increased while ridership among the general population has decreased.[7] Random shootings and other crimes as a result of San Francisco being a sanctuary city plague the community, sometimes with perpetrators never caught or, if caught, not convicted.

The City of San Francisco official "poop map" of reports of human feces on the street covers U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's entire Congressional district.[8]

The downtown area of the city is laid out on two grids, with a 45-degree offset between them. Market Street separates the two grids. Many tourists come to visit the Civic Center, Embarcadero, and Union Square areas, all of which are north of Market. Famous San Francisco landmarks include the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, and Alcatraz Island.

San Francisco, with a large homosexual population, is also considered to be one of the most liberal American cities. The city's former democrat mayor, Gavin Newsom ordered the city clerk to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples despite the practice being explicitly illegal under California law. The marriages were nullified by the courts shortly thereafter, as the mayor and clerk were violating California state law.[9]

In 2001, the city of San Francisco extended its workers health insurance to cover sex-change operations for municipal employees.[10][11] The Board of Supervisors and Mayor approved the measure which extended up to $50,000 in benefits to city workers who want to switch their gender.[12]

San Francisco is also a "sanctuary city", which means they have passed an ordinance that it is against the law to report illegal immigrants to the United States authorities as they are required to legally do. In other words, anyone upholding the federal law will get in trouble with the city. This has led to a culture of underaged drug dealers continuing their trade with impunity.[13]

San Francisco is part of the San Francisco Bay Area, which includes Oakland, San Jose, Berkeley, and other smaller towns like Cupertino, Palo Alto, Mountain View, San Mateo, Saratoga, and Menlo Park. The city is home to several large companies, including Gap, Abercrombie & Fitch, X, and Cnet. San Francisco has been overtaken in population and economic significance by San Jose and the rest of Silicon Valley.

The last Republican mayor was elected in 1964. Democrat socialist London Breed assumed office in July 2018 and stands for reelection in November 2024.

History

View of San Francisco, Formerly Yerba Buena, in 1846-7.

The Yelamu tribe of American Indians lived in the San Francisco peninsula prior to European arrival in the area, with settlements dating to as late as 3000 BC;[14] however, it should be noted that carbon dating is likely flawed.

San Francisco was founded as a mission by Franciscan monks in 1776. Within only a few years, several natives had been converted to Christianity.[15] A census conducted at the time showed a total of 814 people living in and around the mission.[16]

The San Francisco Bay, as well as its central location, and position on the California mission trail played heavily into the growth of the city during the California Gold Rush.

Major Earthquakes

In 1906, a large earthquake struck San Francisco, killing approximately 3000 people and starting a fire that burned about 4.7 square miles of cityscape.[17] The earthquake originated on the San Andreas fault, which continues to threaten major Californian cities. The second largest earthquake to affect San Francisco, the Loma Prieta Earthquake, struck in 1989, causing damage to the city and surrounding areas.

Boosters

In the first half of the 20th century, business interests in San Francisco, organized into the Chamber of Commerce, asserted themselves as the only legitimate leaders of the community, asserting that labor unions were only a disruptive special interest. However, the voters and the overall political culture of the city were much more sympathetic to the working class and to labor unions as their representatives in civic decision-making. After conflict between businesses and unions, including strikes sometimes requiring federal troops, businesses finally accepted the legitimacy of labor unions after the bitter strike in 1934. The resulting business-labor partnership aided San Francisco's postwar expansion.[18]

The Golden Gate International Exposition of 1939-40 boosted San Francisco. The exposition's board was dominated by members of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce who had the support of major area corporations, other western states, and federal agencies. The Exposition departed from the tradition of world fairs in its eclectic organization of exhibits, which included productions, displays, lectures, films, demonstrations, and bazaars. These exhibits reflected a transitional phase in American culture, characterized by the process of fragmentation and recombination. The tensions of American society on the eve of World War II were manifested in exhibitions expressing both desires for peace and simplicity, and fascination with expansion and technology.[19]

Progressivism in the 1970s

Left to Right: The Rev. Jim Jones, Mayor George Moscone (murdered along with City Councilman Harvey Milk), Speaker Nancy Pelosi a white privileged refugee from Baltimore, Speaker Willie Brown ex-lover and political patron of Kamala Harris, and Sen. Dianne Feinstein whose rise came on the heels of the Moscone/Milk murders. The Moscone/Milk murders and the tragedy at Jonestown are intimately connected in San Francisco's Progressive Democratic party,[20] a fact kept hidden by the mainstream media for decades.

Jim Jones was the original founder of the "Rainbow Family" in the late 1950s and early 1960s, a term Jones used to refer to his family.[21][22][23] Jones moved to San Francisco in 1970 and was deeply involved in the city's progressive politics.[24] Jones's Peoples Temple was instrumental in the election of Mayor George Moscone, serving as campaign workers and busing in unregistered people to vote. Jones was rewarded with the post of housing commissioner.

It was Kamala Harris's mentor, Willie Brown, who brought Jones in contact with the California Democratic party.[25] From there, Jones become involved with the DNC. Willie Brown supported same-sex marriage as early as 1977. Jones publicly met with vice president candidate Walter Mondale, and spoke at events with other leading Democrats at the San Francisco headquarters after the election in 1976, among them First Lady Rosalynn Carter and California governor Jerry Brown.

Harvey Milk, the first openly gay politician elected in California with Jones's help would say: "My name is etched in stone with you."[26] Milk wrote letters in support of Jones to President Jimmy Carter. Both Milk and Jones were homosexual activists.

San Francisco[27] faces Environmental Protection Agency fines over the environmental damage done by the city in collaboration with its homeless partners.[28]

Since 2011, the city's Poop Patrol office has received 118,352 reports of turds in the street, or roughly am average of one every 90 seconds, around the clock, for eight solid years.[29] With a growing population, the numbers can only be expected to increase. The San Francisco Chronicle reported in 2018 on the plight of residents unable to get a response from the city. A frustrated citizen finally called the newspaper after finding a suitcase full of human excrement on the corner of his block. The resident purchased a $750,000 condo for his wife and 2-1/2 year old child. The paper described the neighborhood as "progressive."[30] With the city already covered in feces, the newly elected Democrat district attorney vowed to not prosecute public urination.[31]

In a city with an estimated homeless population of 8,000,[32] the taxpayers liberally hand out 4.5 million free syringes annually,[33] or roughly one every 16 hours, assuming (a) the needles are used exclusively by the homeless and (b) all 8,000 homeless are intravenous drug users. While homeowners and renters may take advantage of this taxpayer subsidy, there is no means testing. And the city leaders give little thought to the health and safety of children in public parks and elsewhere exposed to the careless disposal of dirty needles which are thrown away at a rate of some 12,000 daily. While the city has banned the use of plastic straws because they are a "threat to the environment."[34] the city continues the distribution of disposal plastic syringes which are a threat to everybody's health and the environment.

In a racist attack, an Antifa white supremacist knocked out the front teeth of Philip Anderson at a Free Speech Rally.[35]

Chesa Boudin was elected San Francisco district attorney in 2019. Chesa was elected with money from George Soros,[36] is the child of two cop-killing communists,[37] and is named after a cop killing communist.[38] Chesa, a Democrat, was elected on a platform of not prosecuting criminals and opening the prisons as an important step in furthering the Marxist revolution.[39] Chesa is named after Joanne Chesimard,[40] also known as Assata Shakur of the FBI's 10 Most Wanted list currently living in Cuba. Chesimard was convicted of the murder of a New Jersey State Trooper in 1977 and escaped prison in 1979. Chesimard is the inspiration of Patrisse Cullors, founder of Black Lives Matter (BLM).

Chesa's mother is Kathy Boudin, who served 22 years in prison for the murder of two policemen and a Brink's guard. His father, David Gilbert, remains in prison. Chesa was adopted and raised by Weather Underground (WUO) self-admitted terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.[41]

Chesa's namesake, Joanne Chesimard aka Assata Shakur, is the former "queen" of the Black Liberation Army (BLA) terrorist group, who was convicted of the first-degree murder of a New Jersey State Trooper in 1973. She was convicted of the murder in 1977 and seven other felonies. While serving a life sentence, she escaped from the Clinton Correctional Facility for Women in 1979. She was granted political asylum in Cuba in 1984 where she has lived ever since, despite US government efforts to have her extradited. She is on the FBI Most Wanted Terrorists list, under her maiden name Joanne Deborah Chesimard. BLM founders openly admit to being "trained Marxists."[42] BLM co-founder Alicia Garza is a black separatist and more recently was affiliated with the Marxist Freedom Road Socialist Organization that wants to carve out an independent nation-state in the Bay Area.[43] Garza wrote, "When I use Assata [Shakur]'s powerful demand in my organizing work, I always begin by sharing where it comes from, sharing about Assata’s significance to the Black Liberation Movement, what its political purpose and message is, and why it’s important in our context."[44]

On October 17, 2020, a racist Democrat mob attacked a Free Speech rally organized by an African American man and beat participants. The rally was two weeks before the 2020 Presidential election.[45]

Bill O'Reilly and San Francisco Values

The book When the Wicked Seize a City by Dr. Chuck McIlhenny recounts he and his church were terrorized by homosexual activists in San Francisco.

There is much antipathy between the liberal San Franciscans and Bill O'Reilly, who has made many comments about San Francisco values. For example, the San Francisco Chronicle devoted two-thirds of its front page to a picture of Bill O'Reilly and had an extremely large story about him when he stated that San Francisco should secede from the United States and form its own country.[46]

Mr. O'Reilly has stated the following regarding San Francisco values:

But back to San Francisco values, as listed in my book, Culture Warrior. Here they are. Cradle-to-grave entitlements for the poor, with a punishing tax rate to pay for them. Legalized drugs. Unfettered abortion rights. No parental notification for minors having abortions, and rehab, not punishment, for many dangerous criminals.

No restrictions on the Southern border. San Francisco welcomes all illegal aliens. An anti-Christian attitude. Remember last March? The supervisors condemned a rally by a conservative Christian youth group – kids. The supervisors called it anti-gay and anti-choice. But the city apparently is comfortable with militant gays dressing up as nuns in a public parade and mocking said nuns. No proclamation condemning that.

This is just a few of the "values" San Franciscans embrace in their secular progressive paradise.[47]

A notable incident involving the issue of San Francisco values was the Hamilton Square Baptist Church Riot and the persecution of Dr. Chuck McIlhenny.

Homosexual Public Indecency Tolerated in San Francisco

For more on this topic see: Homosexual Public Indecency Tolerated in San Francisco

In San Francisco, there have been notable cases of homosexual public indecency that have been tolerated. Christianity Today states the following regarding Pastor David Innes regarding the Hamilton Square Baptist Church riot:

Innes says he blames not police, but those in political control of the city, particularly the board of supervisors. "You really can't compare San Francisco with any other city," says Innes. "Homosexual advocates infiltrate and dominate the political structures here. Police are in straitjackets. They can't do their job. They've been instructed not to arrest homosexuals."[48]

Pastor Innes then cites a September 30, 1993 letter published in the San Francisco Chronicle from a veteran police officer who was "highly embarrassed" when people asked him why he was not making any arrests in regards to totally naked males engaging in lewd behavior at the San Francisco Folsom Street Fair. The officer stated, "At least a dozen times I had to painstakingly explain that we were to take a position of 'high tolerance' and not to create an incident." [49]

In 1990 and 1991 extreme public lewdness was exhibited at the San Francisco Gay and Lesbian Parades and when police authorities were asked why there were no arrests they offered various excuses such as the primary responsibility was to "reflect community standards and maintain crowd control."[50]

The city at that time had no rule outlawing being naked in public; on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors voted on if they would change the law that allowed public nudity.[51] The nudity ban passed 6 votes to 5.[52]

Chesa Boudin

In a surprise June 2022 result, San Francisco overwhelmingly rejected ultra-liberal DA Chesa Boudin.[53] Proving how dangerous the crime wave has become in the liberal values capital.

Business insecurity

In 2023, a California Bill to prohibit employers from requiring employees to confront shoplifters went to the State Assembly.

SAN FRANCISCO—The California Senate passed a controversial bill on May 31 that would prohibit employers from requiring staff to intervene in active shoplifting. The bill is pending further review by state Assembly committees.

SB 553, authored by state Sen. Dave Cortese (D-San Jose), requires employers, who could potentially be victims of shoplifting and robberies, to Prohibitdo more to “keep employees safe at work.” Employers are asked to maintain a violent incident log, provide active shooter training and shoplifter training, and stop maintaining policies that require workers to confront suspected active shoplifters. The bill allows companies to apply for workplace violence restraining orders.[54]

Walk For Life West Coast

In January 2011, San Francisco held the 7th Annual Walk for Life West Coast, a pro-life rally. Up to 50,000 people took part, a record turnout for the event.[55] The counter-protest "was deafened by the sheer size of Walk for Life".[56]

Sports

San Francisco is home to two major professional sports teams: the San Francisco Giants baseball team and the San Francisco 49ers football team. The Golden State Warriors plan to move from Oakland back to San Francisco in 2019 (when the team moved to the West Coast they were originally located in San Francisco) but will retain their team name (it is the only franchise among the four major professional sports to use a state nickname).

Management

In June 2022, San Francisco was named the second-worst-run city in the US by WalletHub.[57] Determined by the city’s operating budget relative to the quality of services it provides.
