Xi Jinping is the current General Secretary of the Communist Party of China which requires that all their members be atheists.[1] See: China and atheism and Atheism and communism

Question: Does Vladimir Putin's and Xi Jinping's disapproval of homosexuality give them a moral license to behave very immorally? Like is this a "get out of moral jail free card" to use a term from the popular board game Monopoly.

The anti-Christians Mao Zedong, Fidel Castro, Joseph Stalin and Xi Jinping also have opposed homosexuality so that moral bar isn't exceedingly high - especially for societies that currently have a demographic crisis due to low fertility rates and people leaving their countries! See: Atheism and the suppression of homosexuality and Russia is dying out. The war in Ukraine is making Russia's demographic crisis even worse and Skepticism about China remaining a global power

And Xi Jinping's administration currently persecutes Christians as can readily be seen HERE.

Last time I checked Moses descended from Mount Sinai with 10 commandments and the Sermon on the Mount was big on morality too. So what we have here from Vladimir Putin/China/Russia cheerleaders is a classic case of the fallacy of exclusion. Please see the below section of this essay entitled "Let's take a closer look at Vladimir Putin, Xi Jingping and atheist-controlled mainland China when it comes to morality and wisdom".

How gay is the West and how lasting is homosexuality in a society?

While hyper Russophiles drone on and on about the "gay West", the reality is that some regions of the West are far more "gayer" than others.[2][3][4] In addition, due to Russian young people being less conservative on the issue of homosexuality, recent data indicates that 36% of Russians have neutral/favorable attitudes towards homosexuality (See: Russian attitudes towards LGBT individuals). However, the Russian government is endeavoring to change Russian attitudes regarding homosexuality and recently passed laws restricting the promulgation of homosexuality.[5][6]

Most Russian church goers attend the Russian Orthodox Church which is against homosexuality. In 2022, it was reported that attendance at Russian Orthodox Church services in Russia has dropped to around one percent.[7]

Some areas of the United States are more liberal/conservative than others and this affects the rate of homosexuality in a state. Gallup Organization data from 2013: "The percentage of U.S. adults who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT) ranges from 1.7% in North Dakota to 5.1% in Hawaii and 10% in the District of Columbia, according to Gallup surveys conducted from June-December 2012. Residents in the District of Columbia were most likely to identify as LGBT (10%). Among states, the highest percentage was in Hawaii (5.1%) and the lowest in North Dakota (1.7%), but all states are within two percentage points of the nationwide average of 3.5%."[8]

My friend who lives in conservative small-town America says you don't see LGBTQ flags in his area nor do you see gay parades, but you do see manger scenes during Christmas, etc. And I have traveled through Amish areas of the United States and I don't see LGBT flags or gay parades in those areas.

The Amish are the fastest growing religion in the United States, doubling every 20 years.[9] The Amish population is growing so fast that each year some families move out to acquire more farmland. They are highly successful financially and morally. By 2050 the Amish are expected to attain 1 million in total population in the United States, and by 2222 the Amish could be the majority in the U.S.[10]

"We don't smoke marijuana in Muskogee. We don't take our trips on LSD. We don't burn our draft cards down on Main Street. 'Cause we like livin' right, and bein' free. We don't make no party out of lovin'. We like holdin' hands and pitchin' woo. We don't let our hair grow long and shaggy, like the hippies out in San Francisco do. And I'm proud to be an Okie from Muskogee." - Merle Haggard, from the song Okie from Muskogee
