Rebel News
Rebel News (formerly The Rebel Media until September 2019) is a Canadian conservative media company founded by Ezra Levant shortly after the closure of Sun News Network, the biggest conservative advocate in the Canadian media. Rather than being on television, Rebel News hosts several online shows, which require a paid subscription to view, as well as a YouTube channel with regular conservative news updates.[1]
In December 2016, Levant announced his "Big Plan" to make Rebel News more influential than CTV, Global News, or even the CBC. He asked for $63,000 in donations to pay for a new studio and equipment. The funds were quickly raised.
Rebel News has also been responsible for many petitions, and for putting up many billboards across Canada, advertising conservative values and convicting liberal politicians, among them Denis Coderre and former Ontario Liberal premiere Kathleen Wynne.
Canadian left-wing political parties and their members, including the Liberal Party of Canada under Justin Trudeau and the Alberta New Democratic Party under former Alberta premiere Rachel Notley, and even CINO (Conservative in Name Only) former Conservative Party of Canada leader Andrew Scheer,[2] refuse to acknowledge Rebel News as a legitimate media outlet[3] and have attempted to block the company from official press conferences[4] and coverage of political happenings in Canadian and provincial parliaments controlled by those parties, even going so far as to falsely label Rebel News as "hate-inciting" without proof,[5] physical attacks against its reporters by those politicians' aides and hired goon squads[6] and harassment[7] and illegal and unjustified arrests of its reporters by corrupt police officers at those politicians' behest,[2] because unlike state-owned broadcaster the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and other liberal media outlets, Rebel News reporters have reported on stories which the liberal media choose to ignore and which leftist politicians, and other leftists in the public eye,[8] do not like and want to keep under wraps, and have asked tough questions which leftist politicians typically refuse to answer, especially when such politicians are involved in political or personal scandal (particularly involving illegal activity or activity which goes contrary to positions they hold), out of concern that answering such questions would affect them negatively (including the probability of legal trouble as well as damage to their political careers - up to and including resignation or forced removal from their offices - and their public images). In the case of the Alberta NDP, that party, under Notley's direction, even used lawfare to illegally target Rebel News for censorship and persecution when it exposed corruption and scandal involving Notley and a number of her cabinet members.[9][10] Conversely, the White House under President Donald Trump has welcomed Rebel News reporters and given the company media accreditation.[11][12]
Rebel News has been referred to as Canada's Breitbart; however, unlike Breitbart, Rebel News has never caved to Islam, being consistent in their counter-jihad advocacy and principles.

Attacks on Rebel News by the Left
- Rebel News' David Menzies was physically accosted in Toronto by Canadian left-wingers imitating Seattle's CHAZ. The incompetent police and security guards sided with the leftists, and eventually had Menzies removed from the area. Toronto is ruled by Liberal "mayor" John Tory.[13]
- Rebel News journalists have been illegally harassed, arrested, handcuffed, and jailed several times by corrupt police officers, acting on orders from liberal politicians and public officials, for reporting the truth about the corruption of said officials and their attempts to cover up their illegal activities. The first time was David Menzies in October 2019 by the RCMP security detail of the pseudo-conservative Leader of the Opposition Andrew Scheer for asking Scheer uncomfortable questions.[2] Another time was Anna Slatz in the U.S. in June 2020 by overly heavy-handed police officers for violating the imposed curfew for the George Floyd protests, even though Slatz had a press exemption (according to Slatz, many of her cellmates likewise did not deserve to be there).[14] Most recently, several Rebel News reporters were targeted for illegal arrest and fines by corrupt police officers with the City of Montreal Police Service (in French, Service de police de la Ville de Montréal or SPVM) for reporting on heavy-handed Gestapo-like tactics being used by the officers against peaceful protests against unconstitutional CCP flu lockdowns in that city[15] as well as an arbitrarily-imposed curfew targeting Montreal's Hasidic Jewish community,[16] and Rebel News itself was also targeted with anti-Semitic slurs by the SPVM.[17] As a result of the illegal actions committed by the SPVM against the Rebel News reporters during the lockdowns and the resulting protests, Rebel News sued the SPVM for their actions and won a legal victory in court, forcing the SPVM to apologize for their actions while scoring a victory for freedom of the press and freedom from tyrannical censorship against an independent media by corrupt government officials and their hired jackboot enforcers.[18]
- On April 14, 2021, Rebel News reported on its website that its YouTube channel had been illegally suspended by YouTube for one week for a video from January 2021 that exposed false claims made by Facebook founder/CEO Mark Zuckerberg regarding US President Donald Trump, along with a speech made by Trump where he called out the blatant Democrat election fraud that led to the theft of the 2020 presidential election by the Democrat Party for their candidate Joe Biden.[19] YouTube's illegal action, done out of the irrational hatred of Trump by its employees as part of its collusion with other Big Tech companies to illegally censor and silence conservative voices, violates both the First Amendment and Section 2 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, which covers freedom of speech.
- On May 6, 2021, Rebel News announced that it will be suing online credit card payments system PayPal in response to PayPal (which is controlled by liberals) illegally breaching its contract with Rebel News (which the media outlet had used to provide legal help to individuals and companies being illegally targeted, harassed and persecuted by corrupt liberal politicians, bureaucrats and public officials for political reasons), along with the personal account of Rebel News head Ezra Levant and the account of an associated non-profit charity group called For Canada, by abruptly cancelling the contract without prior notice or explanation for political and ideological reasons as well as an illegal attempt to censor and silence news outlets the company does not like, with PayPal falsely claiming, without any evidence, that Rebel News had "violated" the company's terms of service; when Rebel News' lawyers tried contacting PayPal via e-mail and phone regrading the issue, PayPal refused to respond, necessitating the lawsuit being filed by Rebel News against PayPal.[20] Rebel News criticized the move by PayPal as being purely motivated by politics and criticized PayPal itself point-blank for not even having the courage to explain its reasons for trying to illegally silence the company; it also reported that PayPal, by its actions (which also directly affected 150,000 PayPal users who relied on Rebel News for legal help), also violated consumer protection laws and it has been reported to financial services regulators.
- On February 19, 2022, while covering the Freedom Convoy protests in Ottawa, Rebel News reporter Alexandra Lavoie was viciously assaulted and injured by Ottawa Police Service jackboots, one of whom lunged at her and struck her in the head three times without provocation, followed by a second jackboot shooting a tear gas canister at her leg at point-blank range, all of which was caught live on camera as she was covering the OPS' continuing Trudeau-ordered Gestapo tactics against Freedom Convoy protesters.[21] Several of the protesters rescued Lavoie from being further attacked by the uniformed thugs. Rebel News host Ezra Levant, who speculated that Trudeau has officially ordered his jackboots to attack journalists who film their criminal activity and pointed out that some of them intentionally attacked Lavoie after they saw her filming them assaulting protesters, announced that the news outlet will sue the OPS for its criminal assault against Lavoie. Social media reaction condemning the tactics of Trudeau's jackboots against Lavoie and the protesters has been swift, with some referring to them as cowards for assaulting women and the elderly, while a tiny minority of small-minded liberals actually cheered on the jackboots' violence and claimed, without proof, that those assaulted (including Lavoie) either "deserved" it or were "faking" it.[22]
- On December 10, 2023, while attempting to cover duelling pro-Israel and anti-Israel/pro-Hamas protests in Calgary, Rebel News reporter Adam Soos was specifically targeted for harassment by a group of anti-Israel protesters organized and sent by that protest's leaders, with the protesters behaving like immature children as they blared loud music over loudspeakers at Soos and blocked his camera with their protest signs to prevent him from filming or reporting on their activities.[23]
