Ansar al-Dine is a Islamist terrorist organization, which operates in Mali. It wants to introduce the Sharia-law and is connacted with the Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb. Ansar Dine fights against the secular National Movement for the Liberation of Azawad and the government of Mali. Troops from France are supporting the government. In 2013 it split off to create a new group called Islamic Movement for the Azawad.[1]
