Tupamaros

The Tupamaros (Movimiento de Liberación Nacional – Tupamaros) is a former Marxist terror organization in Uruguay, founded by Raúl Sendic. Since 1985 it is a political party. The Tupamaros murdered various persons, including CIA agent Daniel A. Mitrione.[1] It was also known for raids, bombings, bank robberies, kidnappings.[2]
In 2010 José Mujica, a former member of the Tupamaros, was elected as president.
Tupamaros West-Berlin was also the name of a small German terror organization.
