James Paul Lankford (born March 4, 1968 in Dallas, Texas) is a Republican U.S. Senator. He was Representative from Oklahoma's 5th congressional district, succeeding Mary Fallin, who left the House to run successfully for governor. Lankford had no experience in state or federal politics, having spent 1fifteen years as head of the nation's largest Christian youth camp.
